THE UNEXPECTED ARRIVAL
"Next!" yelled the lunch lady. Ari quickly grabbed her plate and drink and rushed to the counter to pay for her food. After paying Ari leaped to the nearest table. she was so carried away by the tempting aroma of the pizza slice that she didn't see the nasty scheme that her classmates had planned for her and hence directly fell into the trap.
One of the boys from her class put his legs in the way just as Ari was about to pass him. THUD!! Ari fell right on her knees, while her pizza went flying and ended up landing on her head. the curly fries were all over the place and her drink had spilled all over her. " looks like she came out from a fast food dumpster." Gina teased, feeling satisfied for being able to take her revenge.
Ari knew they were always bullying her but she did not expect them to be so cruel. The food was all wasted, she was completely drenched in apple juice and she still had three more classes that she had to attend. She was so embarrassed that she did not have the courage to help herself up. Poor Ari froze with fright and humiliation when suddenly a voice came from behind. " Leave her alone!" Everyone turned around to see who that person was except for Ari. Ari was shook! "could it be?... Yes, it is!" It was the same voice she heard from the person she bumped into that morning.
Before she could see who that person was, he came up to her, pulled her up, held her by her shoulder, and whispered," go ahead, clean yourself up and meet me here." Ari was so confused about what her next move should be and had gone completely blank. " Go on..." the boy whispered as he lightly tapped on Ari's shoulder with his fingers. As soon as he removed his hands, Ari rushed to the bathroom without thinking twice. She was absolutely demented as she didn't know what had just taken place at that moment. On one side, she was so devastated for the prank her classmates had pulled on her. On the other side, she felt warm and happy because of the 'stranger boy' actions. She started to clean herself up and decided to go and buy herself another meal before lunch break gets over. as she walked in she saw a tall guy staring at her. He had long silky straight brown hair, Fair skin, ocean green eyes with a beautiful sharp jawline, and a well-built body. He literally looked like a Greek god who had just descended from heaven. Ari had never seen anyone as perfect-looking as him in her school, or anywhere as a matter of fact. At first, she did not believe he was the guy that helped her up so she just passed by him slowly when all of a sudden he held Ari's hands and said " what took you so long, we only have 15mins left for lunch break to get over." Ari looked at him in shock and before she could say anything the 'stranger boy' pulled Ari to a table nearby. "But I still have to get my foo...d?"
Ari was surprised to see that two trays of lunch were already placed on the table. " Don't worry I bought you this lunch. Now come and have it without asking any more questions." comforted the boy. Ari shook her head as she walked towards the table and took her seat. She was blushing so hard she started to turn red.
The boy sat in front of her and started to eat his food while Ari sat there staring at her food, then at the boy, and again at her food. "Are you going to eat or are you gonna fill your stomach by just watching it?" the boy joked. Ari smirked and decided to take a bite and so she did. As she took the first bite she felt like she was in heaven. Her hungry little stomach was finally silent and her mouth was having a huge party with all the flavors of the food. A slice of pizza had never tasted this good to her. She was on cloud 9.
After having her slice of pizza completely she came back to her senses, finally realizing that she was sitting in front of the boy and that everyone in the cafeteria was staring at them. Her face again had turned red but this time she bought up the courage to finally ask the boy his name," Hey may I... Know your name?"
The boy quietly took his final bite and wiped his hands. He then moved his hair from his eyes and stared at Ari for a few seconds before he answered," Aaron." His beautiful green eyes continued staring at Ari which made her feel a bit awkward. "So, Aaron are you a new student?" She asked trying to break the awkward situation. "Yeah, I'm actually from London. I am a transfer student," he answered "I actually started today, and by the looks of it, you were bullied this morning as well. weren't you?" "Was it that obvious?" Ari smirked as she asked. Aaron just smiled and sipped on his drink. Ari blushed and started drinking her drink as well.
The 15 minutes that they both spent together felt like forever before the bell rang. "What class do you have now?" Aaron politely asked to which Ari replied," Bio, What about you?" "Same here," Aaron said with a smile on his face. Thus, they both exactly knew what they would do next. So they quietly stood up kept their trays in the bin and walked together to their respective lockers. Once they got their books, Both Aaron and Ari walked to Biology class together. Ari had forgotten all about the pranks and bullying that she had gone through that day. The rest of the day went pretty smooth as fortunately, Aaron was in all the classes that she had that afternoon and there was no one to tease her as well. they got a lot of time to bond and by the end of their last class, they became pretty close.
Triiiinnnggg!!! everyone rushed out of the class to finally leave including Ari and Aaron. "I'll be waiting near the patio" whispered Aaron as he left towards his locker. Ari nodded her head while trying to hide her blushy smile. She turned around to open her locker when Sam came out of nowhere and said, "Do you like him?" Ari just ignored and started to pack her backpack. " You know even if you do it's never possible between you both because..." Ari grabbed her backpack and shut her locker door with a frustrated face. " Because?.. Go on." " Is it because I am not pretty? Am I too ugly to even hang out with him now?" questioned Ari rolling her eyes at Sam.
"No, it's just that he already has a girlfriend and she is from our school too." At first, Ari didn't believe her, so she ignored her words and walked towards the patio where she saw something that shattered her heart. She saw Aaron hugging a girl and laughing around with her. The girl he was with was absolutely gorgeous. She had long slim legs, a beautiful slim body, long straight hair, and a beautiful smile which complimented her amazing sense of fashion.
"Told ya... you have no chance in front of her...HaHaHa!" giggled Sam as she passed by Ari. Tears started to well up again but Ari blinked it all dry and slowly walked towards Aaron. " Hey, Ari! This is Lisa, she is my..." "uh Aaron I'm sorry but I have to go, I don't want to be late on my first day of work. I will catch up with you tomorrow, Bye!"
Ari left him hanging in between his words and ran out of her school. She was confused about why she reacted that way.
"Do I really like him?" "How could I ever think someone like him could like me?" "Maybe Sam was right, He probably only hung out with me out of pity." Ari started to question herself as she walked on the street.
The more she thought the more she hated herself again and the more upset and embarrassed she became. Thus her eyes were swollen again.
