DREAM For You

Stey Would she ever be able to forget? Would she be able to move past it and fly- or would she fall? She was too exhausted to try, too weary to smile and too tired to love. Could she wait through the years of guilt and torment or would her ship simply dangle, stuck in one place, or was it both the same? It was; she was simply…waiting. Christopher Behind bars for half a decade- his life was over, crushed to pieces beneath the glimmering, sparkles of her heels; the one he had worked his back off to buy for her. Click. He always heard it, in his sleep, as he ate and as he watched his fellow inmates teach him how to kill. Click. Han He had been watching her for years and knew where she hung out, where she cried and where she stole from. They had been hiding her, like a bunch of bees collectively gathered infront of their queen but that was all over when Christopher was gone and he doubted he would ever return the same. She was out in the open now and he was going to get her, even if he had to step over the body of his best friend. They were calculating each others’ thoughts, their goals and what they would each accomplish for each other. They were dreaming about each other, not nightmares but dreams- glazed over. Untrue. But they weren’t entirely wrong, and that was what made it all the more terrible.

PROLOGUE

I clung onto her ankles, sprawled on the floor. "Please don't go! Please!" I pleaded, crying out of frustration. "Don't go! Only you can help me. You SAW WHAT happened," he insisted, doing his best not to yell at her. He wanted to SCREAM but she was visibly trembling, uncertain of what to do- and he didn't want to scare her off; only she could help.

"I- I h-have to-" she stammered, "Please let go," she begged. She bent down and tried to release my curled fingers that held tightly onto the edge of her dress. I didn't let go and I saw her face grimace as the blood from my hand smudged onto hers. She looked at the crimson in her fingers and blinked her eyes hard, but she couldn't stop the tears that slipped down her cheek.

"You saw what happened," I tried again, speaking as calmly as I could. "You were here. You saw. You're a witness. You can help me. You-"

"Stop it, stop it, please." Her voice was a whisper.

My heart grew cold. I realised with horror that she wouldn't do it. She was going to leave him like that.

I tried to steady my breathing but I was furious and my anger built up as she tried to pry my fingers away.

I couldn't stop myself. I tightened my grip on her dress and pulled it hard. She tripped and I grabbed her elbow, pressing down on it.

Her tear stricken face was closer to mine.

"You will tell them it wasn't me. YOU.WILL." He demanded, his voice growing louder with each word.

The people around us, snapping pictures of the blood and body on the floor tried to step forward and help her. They had just arrived at the scene.

My vision was clouded with anger and hate. "If you don't help me," he hissed, "I- I will find you and I will-"

"I'll come back," she stepped closer to him and held his shoulder. Her eyes were stronger now, "I promise you I'll come back. I'll help you."

I staggered and in that moment she was pulled by a man out of my grasp.

I gulped watching her leave.

The police had arrive but I ignored them as they grabbed me and forced me against the wall. I only saw her retreating body and screamed, "YOU HAVE TO COME BACK. You have to..."

Will she keep her promise? What do you think? Let me know in the comments section -Florence:)
