Dream Cultivation

Patrick was a college student, it was his final year. He never really had any hardships, and that was driving him mad. He had an exercise to do in 2 weeks? He would do it 4 hours before the deadline. He had a semestral exam? He would learn the day before. He was bored, bored of life, and even going out with friends became dull. He wanted some challenges in his life, but there were none. He started reading novels like a mad man. He could finally escape this shitty world. Then came alcohol, immersion was even bigger. One day, after heavy drinking and reading. He found himself in a dream... Dream about cultivation, at least he thought so. ====================== This cover does not belong to me. Pore Opening

He put the second scroll in the box, and hide it under the bed. Then Xing took Herbs of the world and went to the living room. After sitting in the chair, he began reading.

Not even half an hour passed when he heard someone entering the house. "Welcome back." Said looking over the book. "We are home." His younger sister said. After this quick exchange, he returned his focus to the book.

Xing was reading until supper was ready. He ate quickly and then went to the bed. He wanted to fall asleep as soon as possible to wake us early and try out cultivation techniques. He thought it was a better option than waiting until everyone is fast asleep.

He lay on the bed and tried to sleep. At first, it was hard. But thanks to all his hard work done today, he didn't even know when he fell asleep.

Xing woke up in the middle of the night. He slowly laid his little sister on the bed. Took a box with scrolls and walked out of the house.

He entered the shed that was located in the backyard. And began looking around to find a perfect spot for hiding the box. It took him five minutes but he managed to hide it in a place that could be easily missed.

Xing sat down and began manipulating qi, according to the cultivation technique. At least he tried, but it was easier said than done.

Time passed, but he still wasn't able to feel any qi in the surroundings. After an hour of trying he felt something. But when he blinked that feeling went off.

Five minutes later he felt it again, so he thought that he shouldn't blink. At the same time, that feeling disappeared.

"Shit! Just because I was thinking? I guess I should just empty my mind." But that too was easier said than done. Some new thoughts constantly appeared in his mind. After a few good minutes of struggle, he finally did it. He could feel qi. As in trance, he began forming a needle from a qi strand. The first one, qi dispersed. Second, the same result... Hundred and thirty-fourth, qi finally stayed. It didn't resemble anything it just didn't disperse almost instantly. That happened a few seconds later.

Grind continued. He didn't even bother about it. Well, of course, he couldn't, otherwise this state would probably end. But he also knew beforehand that it won't be even close to easy.

At seven hundred and third try, it started resembling a needle. When he hit the three thousand mark it was finally a needle. But that was just good enough and what he needed was almost perfection.

It took him over nine thousand tries but he did it! At this moment tiny needle disappeared from its spot and was flying in his direction at lightning speed. In a blink of an eye, it came in direct contact with his skin.

"FUCK! THAT HURTS!" He yelled while falling back. He destroyed some shelves and all their contents fell on him. But he didn't even feel that. He was wincing in pain while rolling on the ground. It hurt like hell.

A few seconds later one could hear hurried footsteps. After that door opened and Lifen went inside "What happened here?" But he didn't hear her.

It took him a good minute to subdue the pain.

"Agh, that hurt a lot." Xing groaned. His mom looked at him and said "So what did you do this time?" It took him some time but he came up with a reasonable excuse. "I was searching for something, that could help me with my building projects. Then I stumbled and hit those shelves. Everything that was on them fell right on me. Fortunately, I didn't lose my memories" He told her while rubbing the place where the needle pricked him.

She started laughing "My dear son, aren't you a klutz lately?" He looked at her and spoke "My dearest Mother, I don't find this situation funny. Aren't you mean to me lately?" She stopped laughing almost instantly. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that." Then it was his time to laugh "Hahaha, I know I was just fooling with you."

*Pah*

Lifen slapped him "That also for your language, boy. I think everyone in the neighborhood heard that." "I'm sowwy" Xing replied with his head down. "Okay, let's go home. Time to prepare breakfast and you will help me with that" "Yes, mom"

They prepared everything and started eating. While at the table everyone was asking what was all this about. He lied again without batting an eye. When everyone was done they quickly cleaned the table. Today they all went together. They were probably eager to see the results of their hard work.

When they arrived, everyone instantly came to his construction. "Good, resin is cured. We can move on." Some took shovels and some took buckets. They quickly began filling it with soil. Three minutes later the first batch of water came in. They were doing those two things in the same time because it didn't matter whether it was done now or when the earth was done.

When they were done with soil Xing began planting small grass patches at approximately ten centimeters intervals.

They only had to bring more water now. It took some time but when water was about fingernail above the ground they were done.

"Finally, we did it!" Lihua said happily "I hope it will work as good as it looks" Added his father. It has to be said that it looked pretty darn good. "It definitely will" Replied Xing confidently.

After that, they all began working with normal crops. Time passed and it was becoming evening. Today they didn't come back to eat hot dinner. They took lunch with them.

When they came back, His mother with his sisters began preparing dinner. Xing once again brought his book and began reading.

When dinner was almost ready he had to stop and lay the table. They ate everything and everyone started doing their own stuff. Which meant that Xing came back to the book. He wasn't sleepy so he decided that this time he will wait for everyone to fall asleep.

A few hours passed, but he was sure that they were sleeping. He went to the shed but this time he was ready for the pain. This time it took him three minutes to feel qi. And two hundred and forty-seven attempts to create an immeasurable close-to perfection needle.

"Ugh" He groaned almost silently. After a few minutes' break, he started once again.

And so days passed. During the day he was working in the field and during the night he was cultivating.

==============================

I'm in dilemma. I don't know whether I should or shouldn't do something like kingdom building in this novel. A more appropriate name would be farm building. Something like expanding and upgrading the farm and household. I don't know if that would be interesting to you or rather something that will add chapters that aren't interesting. So please let me know in comments. (End of important part) Also sorry for 2 days break, but I had some stuff to do irl. Well, it was also quite refreshing ngl. Hope you like this novel so far. As always sorry for all my mistakes and have a nice day.
