Eon grinned ear to ear as he watched Reniris fight. Despite wanting to be the one in the fight, he did not plan to interfere. She didn't need him to fight her battles.
"Your friend is quite skilled, I didn't think she would be able to use [silent casting]"
Sam stated as he suddenly appeared on the same roof, Eon only gave him a glance before turning his attention to the fight. He also noticed other adventurers on top of other roofs watching.
"Of course she's skilled. What did you expect?"
The guild master gave the young man a quirked eyebrow. It seemed Eon was quite the proud individual. His attention went back into the fight.
He certainly did not expect her to be able to use advanced magic casting techniques, he figured much like Eon. She would be an exceptional yet still weak adventurer, but it seems he has been proven wrong.
Silent casting was one of three techniques in magic spell casting, the first was the nearly outdated way of [Verbal casting], which required the caster to recite the spell they were casting to better imagine and visualise the spell.
Then there is the standard way of spell casting, [Circle casting] which utilises visible magic circles to help cast the spell without having to recite it, Depending on the magic used the circle will be the colour of that magic, for instance if you're going to use water magic, the circle will glow blue, and red if it's fire.
Then there is [silent casting], no recital, no magic circle, you just cast the spell as you imagine it in your head, some would call it the peak of spell casting.
There's also [wand casting], but it's considered to be a subsection of circle casting.
"With talent like that she could be a 6th circle mage in no time"
Sam exclaimed and was barely listening to him as his eyes were glued to the fight.
Reniris dodged the glowing fist from Alexander by craning her neck to the side and let the possibly devastating punch miss. She once again positioned her hand on his stomach, preparing for an attack.
Alexander grinned as he had expected her to do that, as such he quickly grabbed her hand tightly, planning to keep her in place, however he was quick to realise that was a mistake, as he felt something pierce his skin.
Reacting fast, he jumped to the side, a last minute attempt to dodge however it was too late, blood sprayed in the air as an icy blue projectile shot through the air and disappeared into the distance.
Alexander crashed onto the roadside street vendor stall, and he felt excruciating pain on the left side of his torso near his ribs.
"Hnghh!!"
He groaned in pain as he struggled to get up, he looked at his wound and saw his own leaking blood, he was lucky that he jumped to the side on time or he would have a hole on his torso.
Unfortunately he was unlucky, as the attack had done more than just graze him, the skin was torn open, and the cut was deep enough that the fatty-like white flesh underneath his skin was visible and it was wide enough that one could see two bones barely peeking out from beneath.
The very act of breathing elicited enough pain to force a groan out of his mouth and any attempts to stand up were an exercise in torture,to the average man such a wound was enough to render them unconscious from the shock alone.
"Would you be willing to accept an apology?"
Reniris spoke, now that she had managed to make him settle on a single position, she talked to him.
"WHAT!!"
he wasn't sure he heard her correctly, but even so, the time for apologies was long past.
"I asked if you'd be willing to accept an apology.
She repeats, she knew what was happening was because she's the one who started it. Had she spoken to him, perhaps he would have understood and taken his hand off her, plus she only gave him a single warning, it was unfair on her part to just slap someone just because they touched her.
"Wench!! Where do you get off doing this to me…"
He gestured to his wound, enduring the pain as he did so.
"And then thinking I'll accept any apology after that?"
"You attacked me out of nowhere, that's a result of me defending myself, sure you wouldn't have attacked me If I didn't hit you earlier, that's why I want to apologise about that"
She explained, sure at the time he may have had bad intentions and touched her without her permission but that did not mean slapping him across the room was justified, she could have moved back or pushed him off, there was no need for that amount of violence.
This man before her was a living individual, with his own family, that would no doubt be saddened and angry to know that he was unjustly harmed.
"Alright, I'll accept an apology, so go ahead apologise"
He said as he painstakingly stood up, grabbing onto a nearby barrel to lift himself up.
"Great, Ahem! I apo–"
Her words went unfinished as a wooden barrel slammed against her face, the force of the attack sent her flying and tumbling on the ground however she quickly recovered and got on her feet with a shocked look on her face.
"Wench! you think you can fucking disrespect me, in my own city, and embarrass me in front of everyone and walk away with an apology? No, I don't let things like that go unpunished, you're going to die today, I don't care for your apology!"
Alexander informed, his face full of anger and malice, his hands tingled as he felt the need to strangle her and watch the life drain from her eyes.
"Why?! No one needs to die from this, I'm willing to apologise"
She asked, it seemed a bit irrational, she knows she's the one who dealt the first blow but since she was willing to apologise then the matter should be possible to resolve without anyone needing to die.
Alexander put his hands in his pocket and pulled out a vial filled with red liquid, he drank it and his wound healed and his skin mended together, once that was done he opened his mouth to speak.
" [Let no one speak ill of your name and let no one lay hands upon you without retribution, lest you be forced to walk the road of disrespect and dishonour] that is the bandit's code."
He said with conviction in his tone, and confused Reniris as she had assumed he was an adventurer. Her eyes darted towards the rooftop where the guild master and Eon were located.
She saw a thumbs up from Eon who smiled at her like he was enjoying seeing her fight( that annoyed her a bit) but at the same time, he seems to be supporting her which she appreciated, and the guild master shook his head at her, practically informing her that he will do nothing to stop this.
She was the one who violated the rules, Alexander is free to retaliate, so it's up to her to properly handle this.
It wasn't lost on her how she killed a person before meeting Eon and she felt no regret afterwards, yet right now she was hesitant to do the same thing. Although her killing that man was more of a mistake than intentional.
She heaved a sigh, she doesn't have to kill him, just make him stop attacking her, luckily she had good control of her strength, thanks to her spars with Eon.
Fortunately or unfortunately their fight was interrupted.
*Clap!*
A clap resounded, as two feminine hands collided together and a blue circle spun around the hands like a wheel, followed by a deluge of spiralling water that shot forward like a bullet aimed at Reniris' back.
Eon sprung into action, leaping into the air and landing right behind Reniris at the perfect time to use his body to block the unexpected attack on Reniris's back. The force of the attack only managed to push him back a mere three centimetres back.
"a 2 v 1 is unfair, you know"
He said with a grin on his face, ready to pounce at the young lady who seemed to want to sneak attack Reniris.
"Nathaniel?!!"
"Huh?"
