Chapter 3

One day when training Eri was wounded. But Vise placed his snout on the wound and it healed instantly. You can do this too thought Vise. How Eri replied. I do not know was Vise's simple answer. Over next few days, Eri tried to figure out how to heal. By now Vise was big enough for Eri to ride. They could almost make it to the edge of the forest of no return and back in a day from Linteria. At times they would go near the forest so that Vise could have fighting practice against bandits and trees. They also had to patrol the border of Narkle and Harklo. One day they saw a large group of men on horses. They raced to the castle as fast as possible which was fast because Eri could ride Vise now. They rushed into the barracks to tell the others Jarok and another man were playing cards Eri gave his message. Within the minute there were over a thousand men outside the city walls. And around five hundred inside. The king of Harklo's men were barely in sight but approaching quickly. Eri and Vise were at the top of the wall watching the soldiers approach. As they waited for the battle to come. Eri practiced the healing that Vise had shown him he was starting to get the hang of it he could heal minor cuts without much effort and some larger wounds. Eri had never had an experience that could prepare him for what was about to happen. As the two armies converged, the field was painted red with the blood of the fallen soldiers. Eri hopped up on Vise and they flew down over the enemy army. Vise picked up four soldiers in each claw and flew behind the enemy army. When Vise landed he squished the soldiers that were picked up and breathed a jet of blue flame into the back row of the enemy army. As Vise flew over the army again he mawed anyone in reach and cut down the rest with his wings. Soon the battle was over. It was easy to tell that a large number of men had died in that space. there were men of both sides dead. Thanks to Vise it was mostly Harklo's men who died. After surveying the field Eri went to help the nurses with what he could for healing the men
