EARTH'S GUARDIAN: KAMI

As Shallot and Launch flies up Korin's tower, as Korin and Yajirobe watch. Yajirobe starts to panic, afraid of the power that Shallot has.

"Oh man, he's coming up here! What do we do!? What do we do!? What do we do!?"

Before Shallot and Launch make it up, Yajirobe quickly hides under a pot with only his head covered. Korin sighs and prepares to face his visitors. Shallot and Launch finally make it, and when Launch sees Korin a bright, warm smile appears on her face.

"Aw! It's a kitty!" Launch says.

Shallot steps up to Korin.

"Are you, Earth's guardian?"

Korin looks at Shallot for a moment, trying to get a feel from him.

"Afraid not, kid. He's up above us."

Shallot is confused.

"But I was sure this was the top of the tower?"

Korin smirks.

"Trust me, he's up there. Just keep flying up past the clouds."

Shallot nods as Launch starts petting Korin. Shallots stomach then starts growling.

"Sounds like you've worked up an apatite." Korin says, as he's enjoying the belly rubs from Launch.

"Yajirobe, get up already and give the kid a bean."

Yajirobe slowly gets up, then walks over to a large pot full of green beans.

"Heads up kid." Yajirobe says, throwing the bean to Shallot.

The Saiyan looks at the bean for a minute, thinking that it looks familiar.

"You think just one bean will help?" Shallot asks.

Korin's not listening, still enjoying the belly rubs from Launch. Shallot shrugs and eats the bean. Not only does he feel full, but he feels entirely revitalize and full of energy. At that moment, he remembers the beans as the one Master Roshi ate to replenish his energy after they fought. Shallot smiles then turns to Yajirobe.

"Hey fat man, mind giving me a bag of those to go?" Shallot says.

Yajirobe looks annoyed.

"Hey, I don't work for you! Why don't you get it yourself!?"

"Stop wasting time and hurry up with that bag of beans." Korin says, now enjoying cuddles from Launch.

Yajirobe grits his teeth and scoffs, soon tossing the bag of beans to Shallot.

"Thanks." Shallot says with a smile.

Yajirobe folds his arms.

"Whatever." He says.

"Hey kid, you mind leaving the woman here? I really enjoy her company." Korin asks.

At that moment, the cat hair starts agitate Launch's nose and she sneezes. The blonde Launch is confused for a moment, when she sees Korin she yells.

"Where the hell did this cat come from! I can't stand cats!" She yells.

She then kicks Korin away, into Yajirobe.

"On second thought, you can take her with you." Korin says.

Shallot grabs Launch by the arm, trying to calm her down and take her away.

"Sorry about that. Thanks for the beans, goodbye."

They then fly off up towards the sky. When they make it passed the clouds, they are suprised to see a giant platform floating in the sky.

"I'm guessing that's where this guardian will be." Shallot says.

They soon land on the platform and look around. Launch then smirks and rubs her hands together.

"This God guy must be loaded if he lives in a place like this, he must be loaded." She thinks to herself.

As Shallot starts to wonder what's going on with the crazy smile on Launch's face, a short, plump man with a dark complexion, red lips, and pointy ears walks infront of them.

"Hello, I am Mr. Popo." He says.

"Woah, I really hope we're really not made in God's image."

Mr. Popo smiles.

"I'm afraid that you are mistaken, I am not earth's guardian."

He then steps aside as someone walks out. When Shallot sees this world's guardian, he is shocked at the green skin and antennas.

"I am Kami. This world's guardian."

Launch cringes even more.

"Now I really hope we're not made in his image." She says.

Shallot takes a step forward, still surprised.

"The earth's guardians a Namakian?" Shallot asks.

Launch is confused.

"Namak- what?" She asks.

"They're a peaceful people with few warriors among them. I've heard they have special abilities. This is my first time seeing one up close, never thought I'd meet a Namek on earth." Shallot says.

Kami smirks.

"Yes, that is correct. Like you, I was sent to this world to escape the fate of my own. Also like you, I saw that this planet needed protection, so became the earth's guardian. I even created the dragon balls."

"I see. So Planet Namak was destroyed too."

Kami closes his eyes sorrow, nodding his head slowly.

"I apologize for your loss." Shallot says with sincerity.

Kami looks at the boy and smiles.

"You are a very kind hearted child, but I know most of your race isn't. I do wonder if you truly believe the Saiyan's deserved to be avenged."

Shallot doesn't reply.

"I know of your peoples exploits, even before it was under Frieza's rule. Many innocents were killed by the Saiyan's, planets and civilizations, destroyed by their hands all for profit. So I ask you, is it worth going up against one of the most powerful beings in the universe and putting your life on the line for people who would most likely look down on you for protecting a planet like this one."

As Shallot continues to stay silent, Launch gets angry.

"Hey! Why don't you just shut the hell up with that judgmental crap, alright!?"

Before Launch can say anything else, Shallot raises his hand towards her to stop her.

"Kid." She says, the first time the blonde Launch shows a hint of compassion.

Meanwhile, Shallot thinks about something that happened on another planet a few months before Planet Vegeta was destroyed. He is holding his sister who is critically injured in his arms with tears in his eyes.

"Shallot... The Saiyan's- we're not- supposed to be good people. We were meant to be dangerous- and ruthless savages who fight without remorse... We look down on the kindhearted."

She then slowly puts her hand on Shallots cheek and smiles.

"But- I'm glad that- you are... different. I'm sure- mother and father are too."

As she dies, Shallot hugs her motionless body. The Saiyan clenches his fists, facing Kami.

"I used to hate how I was. The fact that I wasn't cold blooded like everyone else. That I couldn't kill without guilt, I thought it was a weakness."

He looks at the palms of his hands.

"I now realized that there was a reason I was made this way. To carry the sins of my people on back. It's not just revenge I'm after, Guardian, I'm going to redeem the Saiyan's by killing the monster Frieza. Eradicating that bastard and protecting this planet is my way of atonement."

Kami looks at the passion and determination on Shallots face and smiles.

"Alright, I just had to make sure that this is the path you wanted to take."

He then turns and starts walking.

"I will help you with your training. You better prepare yourself."

Shallot smiles, cracking his knuckles with determination.

"Let's go."
