Chapter 25: Prelude to Slaughter!

Upon the surface of [Planet M-2], three individuals stood side by side, these were [Planet M-2]s Magisters. Descending towards the three Magisters, was a golden disc with a translucent red dome. As the disc got closer, the soldiers surrounding the three Magisters became increasingly agitated. They all knew that aboard that descending disc, was the being which controlled the massive ship that loomed over their world. Noticing their discomfort, the elderly Magister Hameer spoke to the head of their security detail in a hushed tone.

"Keep your men in check, Lieutenant! This is an important meeting, and we cannot afford any misunderstandings. Especially on our part!" Hammer made sure to emphasize that last sentence before he continued. "Is that understood?" Saluting, the Lieutenant replied. "Yes, Magister Hameer! There will no mistakes on my watch." Finished speaking, the Lieutenant turned towards his men, and with a single hand gesture, all of the soldiers stopped fidgeting. Straightening their postures, each soldier calmed themselves, now resolved to represent their world with pride.

Seeing the soldiers correct their postures, Hameer and the remaining two Magisters were pleased. While they didn't recognize the hand gesture, they believed that this was how disciplined, well trained soldiers, should behave. Normally they would have had veteran soldiers accompanying them, but the war had changed that. They had to settle for fresh recruits instead, even the Lieutenant was a new face. Magister Hameer sighed, returning his gaze towards the landing gold disc. He and his fellow Magisters walked forward while smiling, followed closely by their entourage.

Witnessing their guest step off the disc with only two guards following him, the three relaxed a little. They were also embarrassed that they brought so many of their own soldiers. Though, that embarrassment soon turned to apprehension when their guest, who had also been smiling, suddenly stopped walking forward, a frown now on his face. Magister Shawe noticed that the young boys gaze was locked on the soldiers guarding their party, the Lieutenant in particular. She was curious as to why their soldiers would interest him so, but before she could turn around to look, the sound of a [Beam Rifle] echoed out from behind her.

Shawe felt a sharp burning pain in her stomach, looking down, she saw that her abdomen had been perforated, smoke still rising from the wound. As she fell to her knees, still questioning what had happened, she looked towards their young visitor. Wondering whether he was responsible for wounding her, she was startled by what she saw. Their soldiers had him surrounded, each one of them continually firing at the boy and his accompanying men. What was shocking however, was that not a single beam made contact, as a shield of some sort was absorbing all of the damage.

More outrageous than that though, was the boy's laughter amidst the violence. He was clearly unafraid of anything that their people might throw at him. As Shawe closed her eyes, her strength fading, she became convinced that the boy did this. Biting her lip against the pain, she inwardly cursed her fate. Shawe knew she was dying, as she began to give in, she felt a hand shaking her shoulder. "Stay awake girl!" Opening her eyes, she saw Hameer and Crewdive kneeling on either side of her. Smiling weakly at them, she asked for one final favor. "Please make sure our world doesn't fall to that bastard. Please avenge my dea…!" Shawe fell silent soon after.

Not because she died, but because Hameer shushed her. "You're not going to die, girl! There is a medical facility not far from here, remember? Besides, our visitor didn't do this." Nodding his head, Crewdive agreed. "It was our own men. Those assholes just started shooting!" Crewdive couldn't hide his anger as he continued. "They weren't even aiming at us. We were just in the way!" Fighting through her pain, Shawe looked towards their visitor again, her irises shaking from what she saw. The boy had stopped laughing, he now had a resolute expression on his face.

The boy raised a single hand palm-up towards the sky, and as if he were lifting them, the traitorous soldiers began to float. Each one had a look of panic written across their faces, though their expressions soon turned to pain. The boy who was clearly doing something to them, slowly closed his raised hand. What followed were the screams of the traitors and a rain of blood and metal, as their bodies crumpled in on themselves. The expression on the boys' face was cold, lifeless even and his eyes seemed to gleam red as the sunlight struck them. In her delirium, Shawe found herself entranced by those eyes.

They held no fear, no anger, not even a single shred of doubt. Those were the eyes of a true leader, someone who did what was needed and never backed down. Magister Shawe laughed weakly, her body's strength nearly gone. She found it amusing that she ever believed that they could negotiate with such a person. As she slowly closed her eyes to embrace her oncoming death, she felt something being placed into her mouth.

She heard a childish voice speak to her in a mature tone. "If you still wish to live, then eat this." Shawe couldn't even muster the strength to open her eyes, but she knew who was speaking. Feeling a small roundish object on her tongue, she gathered what strength she had left and chewed. She didn't believe it could save her, but if there was a chance, then why would she not take it? Shawe was glad that she took that chance, as after swallowing the object, her pain faded and her energy returned. Looking down at her abdomen, she saw that the wound had closed, with no evidence it had even been there, save for her ruined clothing.

"How is this possible?" Speaking with a shaking voice, Shawe looked towards her fellow Magisters and finally to the one who saved her, hot tears fell from her cheeks. Even Hameer was tearing up, something he hadn't done since he was a child. As she looked towards the boy, no, towards the man who had saved her, she noticed that the soldiers he brought with him were currently firing towards the sky. Looking up, both she and her colleagues saw a massive tide of machines flying through the skies. They had somehow managed to breach their defenses. Hameer and Crewdive both cursed beneath their breath, this was a worst-case scenario if ever they had seen one. Crewdive quickly picked up Shawe and began running towards their command center, Hameer following close behind them.

Shawe looked back while still in Crewdive's arms, calling out to the man that saved her, intending to have him follow. Before she could even start speaking, she found her voice catch in her throat. The man was laughing again, his body slowly floating upwards. She heard him shout something as he reached the sky. "It was a valiant effort! Unfortunately for you, it was meaningless. Because this time, parasite, you are not up against that merciful fool, Kakarot!" As his shouting ceased, he raised both hands towards their enemies. Two fingers were pointed outwards on each hand, soon after, a demonic-looking red and black light, began to gather at his fingertips. He shouted out one final word before what Shawe could only describe as a slaughter. "Perish!"

Authors Notice: It looks like my other fanfic will take a long bit of research. With that said, I already have what I need to get started. What that means is, that this, DBSC, will become a fanfic that releases every week. I simply do NOT have the time for this one and the others I have planned. That's right! The Elder Scrolls fanfic I mentioned is not the only one in the works. You don't have to worry though, I have no intention of dropping this for any other. Nor will I be writing them all at once. At any rate, next chapter will be out on Saturday, Jan. 16th. Stay awesome folks and please, remember to tell me what you thought of the chapter.

Okay, chapter 25! Sorry for the wait folks. Research into my next fanfic is almost done.
