'Why is he so fast?'
Bulma ran behind Goku frustratedly, she would turn 17 in a few months and had years and years of track and field training, being taught by the best coaches money could buy.
She was arguably the fastest girl in West City yet here she was being outpaced by a child that couldn't be older than 12.
She ran her hardest and was eventually able to catch up to Goku who was still lugging around the huge fish.
"If you care so much about your Dragon Ball why are you carrying that fish around?" she shouted between breaths.
"Because I'm hungry!" Goku said, taking off right.
"Hmph!" Bulma said as she pushed herself to keep up with Goku.
Goku and Bulma both approached Grandpa Gohan's house, quickly running up the stairs and reaching Goku's room. He opened the door hurriedly with anticipation written on his face.
"Grandpa!" he said relieved, grabbing the Dragon Ball.
"Give it to me, I'll hide it for you," Bulma said, still panting heavily.
"Why would I do that?" Goku said, still hiding his Dragon Ball from Bulma.
"Because some people are trying to steal it from you!" Bulma said, checking the windows for people.
'Fuck!' she cursed to herself, spotting Pasta and Bongo walking towards the house.
"Why should I trust you?" Goku said, still not giving in.
"Because! Those two broke into my house and tried to rob me! They waited for a time when my dad was at a meeting and my mom was out shopping and they just barged in! If I wasn't at my lab they would have stolen it!" Bulma said urging Goku.
"Mmmmmm....okay, but you have to give it back later!" Goku said reluctantly handing it over.
Bulma took the Dragon Ball and stashed it in her purse.
'Great! Two down, one to go!'
BSH!
Bongo kicked down the door to Goku's house with his huge foot.
"Anybody home?" he shouted, his massive feet making sounds that shuddered through the whole house.
'Shit!'
"Who's ther-"
Bulma quickly covered Goku's mouth, carrying him up and bringing him to her chest in a fluid motion.
Her soft breasts consequently squished on his back.
"Someone's upstairs," Pasta said calmly, leading the way.
"Is there a back exit we can take?" Bulma asked Goku, removing her hand from his face.
"No, but we can go out the window," Goku said struggling free.
"How?" Bulma asked, not seeing any kind of slide or trampoline in Goku's room.
"Like this!" Goku said, knocking Bulma off her feet with a sweeping leg kick.
He caught Bulma and jumped out of the window, his tiny body somehow capable of supporting Bulma's weight.
"AHHHHHHH!" she cried, being caught off guard by the sudden motion, trying her best to stay still as they tore through the air.
Goku landed squarely with two steps and took off into the forest, carrying Bulma who was still shrieking fearfully.
Pasta opened the door to Goku's room only to find that it was completely empty.
"They went out the window and probably took the Dragon Ball," she said pointing to the purple cushion on Goku's bedside table.
"This isn't good, we were only able to draw the location of the Dragon Balls onto a map! Should we go back and get a new reading from the machine?" Bongo asked, trying to think of a solution.
"No, you meathead! We simply go to the other locations first! And even then if they beat us to it, we still have the last Dragon Ball, they'll have to come to us to get it if we don't meet them beforehand," Pasta said smoothly, every word coming out in an organised manner.
Bongo murmured in agreement.
"Why is there a fish over there?" Bongo said, pointing to the huge fish laying on top of the bed.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Put me down!" Bulma cried.
Goku continued to run through the forest, dodging various vines and crooked paths with ease until he came to a dead stop in his tracks.
Goku's eyes widened.
"I left my fish!" he said, throwing Bulma onto the floor.
"Ouch!" Bulma said as she hit the ground, her short dress barely able to conceal herself.
"Forget your fish! We barely escaped those bad guys!" Bulma said, now realising the child in front of her was on the stupid side.
"But I'm hungry!" He called out gripping his stomach.
Bulma sighed with frustration but breathed out, remembering she was dealing with a child.
"Tell you what, you seem pretty strong, how about you help me get all the Dragon Balls and in return I'll buy you all the food you want!" Bulma said softly, trying to make her proposal as appealing as possible.
"Deal!" Goku said quickly, instantly baited by the offer of food.
"Then let's double back so I can get my motorcycle, you can run if you really want to," she said, happy that she had managed to secure the freakishly strong little boy as a guard.
BRRRRRRRMM!
Bulma's motorcycle roared loudly as it sped through the narrow forest path, Bulma's years of driving experience, allowing her to adapt to the terrain with no difficulty.
"Hup! Hup! Hup!"
Goku jumped around the forest cleverly, making his way from tree to tree with jumps, hops and swings.
A small smile formed on Goku's face as he moved around, content with his agility.
"ROOOOOOAAAAARRRRR!"
"AHHHHHHH!"
A loud roar followed by a group of screams could be heard in the distance.
"What's that?" Goku asked, his interest piqued as he navigated towards the sound.
"No wai-"
Bulma tried to deter him but Goku was already gone.
'What kind of idiot runs towards screaming they hear in a forest?' she asked rhetorically, changing her motorcycle's course.
The small child was strong for his age and was too ideal of a bodyguard to let go so she, although a bit disgruntled, she followed Goku.
Goku grunted softly, his small feet seemingly bouncing off the branches and trees until he approached the scene of the crime.
"I'm going to eat you!"
"AHHHHHHHH!"
An eight-foot-tall red giant with stone horns growing out of its head, laughed maniacally as a horde of villagers with pitchforks and torches surrounded it.
"We're not going to let you keep scaring us!"
"Our children can't sleep!"
"Then do something about it! You brought all those weapons, somebody attack me!" the giant said cockily.
"I'll eat the first one of you that does it!" he said again with a smile on his face.
An uneasy and disturbed aura settled on the villagers, Goku could tell with one look that although the people sounded outraged, they were too scared to do anything.
"ROOOOOAAAAAR!" The giant bellowed again, breaking the circle of villagers that surrounded him, forcing them to one side.
Some of the women and children among the villagers couldn't help but scream, scared deeply by the towering giant.
"Hey!" Goku said loudly, making everyone turn their heads to him.
Goku jumped down from the tree and stood between the giant and the villagers, all of them passively cowering behind Goku.
"Leave them alone!" Goku said, peeved off at the giant who used his size to bully people.
"Or what pipsqueak?" the Giant said, as arrogant as ever.
"Otherwise, I'm going to teach you a lesson!" Goku said, unsheathing a long red staff that was at his waist.
"Teach my a lesson?" the giant said, almost confused.
'Teach me a lesson!' he thought to himself, panicking slightly.
"Say brat! Aren't you scared of me?" the Giant said, making his most scary face.
"My grandpa taught me that I don't need to fear people like you!" Goku said, getting into his battle stance.
'This kid is actually serious!' the Giant thought, put off by how confident the child was.
"Well, how about...now!" the Giant said loudly, transforming into a huge metal robot with a bowl of boiling water.
"I'll kill you with one splash of this deadly boiled water!" Oolong said in the scariest voice he could muster.
Goku stood upright, seeing Oolong for the poser he was.
"You don't want to actually fight, do you?" Goku asked, realising that the energy the shapeshifter gave was not for fighting at all.
Beads of sweat formed on Oolong's face, realising he had been found out.
WSH!
A veil of smoke rose from the forest as Oolong changed shape again, taking the form of a huge bat.
"See you later!" Oolong said quickly flying away.
Goku readied his posture and leapt after the bat, unconvinced that it wouldn't do the same to other people.
BSH!
"Goku! Wait up!" Bulma said, finally catching Goku, only to see him run away.
"Fuck!" she cursed.
"S-Say, are you friends with that brave boy?" An old woman asked, approaching Bulma.
Bulma winced, she didn't really want to answer that question.
"Yeah, I guess," she said reluctantly.
"Please give him this for us," she said, reaching into her clothes and pulling out a shiny orange orb with six stars on it.
'The six-star dragon ball! It's actually here! But it should have been-'
Bulma quickly composed herself, acting like nothing was amiss.
"You see the boy scared away Oolong the Terrible, a horrid shapeshifter that picks on us for fun! Send him this as a token of our appreciation," the old woman said softly, holding out the Dragon Ball.
"Yes ma'am!" Bulma said, maybe a bit too happily.
She slowly reached out a collected the ball, but as soon as she touched it her grip tightened, not allowing it to evade her grasp.
"Thank you very much!" Bulma said again, her eyes smiling.
The old woman looked at Bulma before chuckling.
"Your welcome," she said gently.
Bulma quickly stored the ball in her purse, so happy that she decided to follow Goku.
She put her foot on the pedal and got ready to go.
"Wait!" a small voice shouted out from the herd of villagers.
Bulma looked back at the small girl that called for her.
"Can you take me to Master Roshi?" Pansy said, pleading with her eyes.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oolong flapped his wing exhaustedly, Goku chased him for something around ten miles and yet he still diligently ran after him, Oolong able to hear the sticks and leaves crunch under his feet.
'I can't take this anymore!' Oolong thought, despairing.
Oolong flew out of the forest, flying high into the air before transforming back into a pig, crashing on the harsh rocks.
"Ow!" he moaned quietly.
"Hup! Hup! Hup!" Goku grunted diligently, jumping and landing next to Oolong.
Oolong picked up his tired body and lazily checked his surroundings, not caring about his now dusted army suit.
"Oh no! You've really doomed us now! We're in his territory!" he cried, recalling the stories he heard about Wolf Fang Mountain.
"Who's territory?" Goku asked confusedly.
"Mine"
A tall shadowy figure called out from the top of the mountains. He had a wide, short sabre tucked into its sheath on his left side and a semi-automatic gun on his right.
He leapt into the air, his red cape flickering in the wind while his dark green gi was revealed.
Yamcha landed on two feet and looked at Goku with a menacing expression.
"It was your mistake coming here," he said sinisterly.
