In the Tsufurian Lab, Dr Propellor was leading a team meeting, behind him was a wide blank whiteboard and the rest of his team were seated in front of him each holding their notepads.
"So were you able to figure out why his Power Level keeps increasing?" Dr Oran asked, his eager face bursting with curiosity.
"Short answer: Yes! Long answer: Yes but actually no," Dr Propellor said, clearly hinting that the matter was deeper than they anticipated.
The scientists in the room were intrigued, their silence indicating they wanted to hear more.
"To understand though we must first briefly recap ki," Dr Propellor said turning to face the board.
"Every single organism in existence has ki, ki is distributed evenly all over the internal body in terms of volume however in terms of concentration the vital organs all have denser ki. These places act as ki generators." Dr Propellor said drawing an extremely accurate diagram of a circulatory system and circled the places he mentioned.
"While ki is a tangible form of energy, it can not be seen through visible light which is the frequency our eyes are able to interpret, it can only be sensed through machines. The only way ki is able to leave our bodies is either when we die and all our internal ki is used up or through 'pathway' like structures that lead ki from denser places to the surface of our skin." Dr Propellor continued.
"The problem with Broly...."
The scientists in the room were taken aback, they didn't think that the increase in power level could be described as a problem.
"Is that his 'ki generators' make much more ki than his body is able to sustain, causing the general concentration of his ki, compared to his fellow Saiyans, to be extraordinarily high. This can also be observed as Broly's ki is much more explosive than that of Paragus or Celery. Over time this will damage his body and the nature of his ki will make this phenomenon worse. In fact, this can even be observed now on a small scale."
"How does that increase his Power Level though?" another scientist questioned, not quite getting how it worked.
Dr Propellor didn't even need to explain.
"Think of the body as a gun and the ki you have as ammunition," Dr Oran chimed.
"Power Levels are calculated based on the destructive composition of the gun and volume and grade of ammunition, therefore, the more ki you have the higher your power level," Dr Oran continued.
"Now think of a gun that is jam-packed with ammunition, so much so that the gun begins to break," Dr Oran concluded.
"So his ki just continues to increase, why?" the scientist questioned.
"Honestly? I have no idea but I can conclude that it is definitely a mutation as the other Saiyans don't even come close to Broly." Dr Propellor stated.
"That isn't even the worst part though, due to how volatile Broly's ki is, if it continues to accumulate and condense at this rate he could become-"
"A walking bomb!" Dr Oran said, his eyes expanding as he realised the magnitude of the situation.
The other scientists in the room held their breaths, they didn't need to think for too long to understand how dangerous the situation could be.
"How fast is his ki accumulating?" a scientist questioned.
Dr Propellor frowned while explaining, "Measuring ki volume is exceptionally difficult however looking at the effects it has had on his power level, which should have stayed the same due to the studying we've been doing...."
Dr Propellor then rotated the whiteboard revealing a graph with a line that was increasing at an increasing rate.
"When he was first born he had a power level of around 10,000, then when he arrived here he had a power level of 12,000 and now he has a power level of 23,000 nearly doubling his previous number!" Dr Propellor said, almost not believing his own data.
"If my calculations are correct, he could reach a power level of 250,000 at age 13! And by the time he's an adult? It could be well over a billion!"
"Impossible!"
"No way!"
"What can we do?"
The scientists were exasperated.
"The results are in!"
Another scientist came into the lab with a white envelope in his hand, he scanned the room anxiously only to be caught off guard by the heavy atmosphere.
"Well, I'll just read the results to you," he said softly as he opened the enveloped.
"Language Knowledge: 114/120!"
"Mathematics Knowledge: 170/180!"
"Geometry Knowledge: 126/130!"
"Science Knowledge: 285/300!"
"Tuza Knowledge: 40/50!"
"Average: 93%!"
Incredible results.
Regardless of the fact that Broly had to re-sit the test a few months later, he still did extremely well by Tsufurian standards, this was all due to the blood, sweat and tears poured into him by the Teaching Department and in a way, Broly really helped them increase the efficiency of their teaching after all if Broly could understand how could a Tsufurian not?
Teaching methods were completely revamped and due to Broly and the efficiency of Tuffle Society would increase a few folds in the future. The Tuffles of the previous generation were so bright that even with poor teaching methods they could still understand and succeed in many fields.
If the scientists hadn't heard what they just had, they would all be jubilating however at this moment it was more like acid in their wound as their faces crumpled trying to think of a solution.
A heavy silence descended onto the room.
"There is a method!" a single voice broke out.
"Dr Oran! Remember when we were holding trials for the alloy of Iridiscium and kitchinite, what were their properties?" Dr Engine asked.
A wide smile formed on Dr Oran's face as he remembered.
"An extremely high melting and boiling point, shiny, malleable and a ki super-insulator!" Dr Oran reported, multiple ideas flashing through his head.
"But if we made an accessory out the alloy it could only hold a fixed volume of ki it could absorb!" Dr Propellor joined in, raining on their parade.
"We would need some kind of energy compressor, further increasing the concentration of the ki," another scientist said.
"Does such a thing even exist?"
"A new invention!"
The scientists, Dr Propellor included, scrambled to their workstations, scribbling down furiously on their notepads in an attempt to be the first to create the invention. If they all worked together, the machine would be produced in no less than 2 hours but where was the fun in that?
Undoubtedly the person who came forward would receive a promotion, earn favour in the eyes of Queen Nana and even gain the respect of the Saiyans!
The scientist who had announced Broly's test results stood confused.
"What is going on?" he thought worriedly.
