Desperate Resistance! (28)

"Frieza!" Bardock yelled.

"Good Evening, lowly Saiyan," Freiza replied.

"I am here to destroy you!"

"Is that a fact?"

"FOR YEARS, you've kept us under your-"

' Oh my! These hero types with their speeches! Blah blah blah justice blah blah blah tyranny blah blah blah 'Freiza stop killing me!' Gah! Does he not understand how hard it is to run an empire? I've got shit to do today! Like, decide what wine I will commemorate the death of the Saiyans with: white, red or dare I say rosé! Where was I again? Oh right, this guy.'

"That is why...YOU MUST DIE BY MY HAND!" Bardock said, charging towards Freiza

"That's actually a new one, I might use that!" Freiza said, condensing a massive orange ki sphere above his head.

Bardock stared at the sun-like mass in fear, courage fleeing from his body instantly. He flew backwards a few feet trying to escape but he knew he couldn't.

"Supernova!" Freiza said aloud, throwing the huge sphere towards Bardock.

Bardock stared like a deer in headlights at the ki sphere before extending his arms to try and catch it.

'It's hot!'

This realisation snapped Bardock out of the stupor he was in and he stared at the massive ball in front of him.

"I'm gonna die!"

"Yessssir!" Freiza added, adopting a dialect he had heard on a planet.

Bardock instinctively flew backwards, determined to not be engulfed in the ball but the ki sphere followed him, pressing towards the ground.

"What on Vegeta!"

King Vegeta and his forces made their way out of the castle only to see Bardock struggling with a huge sun-like ki ball.

"Freiza's gonna kill us!"

"No shit!"

"We're doomed!"

A few Saiyans collapsed to the floor and despaired.

Bardock closed his eyes and breathed, almost accepting death as his palms burned under the heat of the death ball.

"You can do it Bardock!"

A single voice broke out.

"Don't give up! I know you can protect Planet Vegeta!"

Among the despairing Saiyans, a ray of light spoke to Bardock who was staring at death.

'Gine!'

Her name appeared in his mind like a revelation, his life flashing before his eyes.

Many Saiyans who in the city, caught site of Gine shouting towards the sky and guffawed in shock when they saw the supernova, on the verge of destroying their city.

They were all deeply shaken by the sight.

"I believe in you!" Gine shouted once again.

Like a trigger, the intense feeling of rage in Bardock's came back with a vengeance.

"It's not just about me," Bardock said, bringing ki the surface of his palms.

"It's not about any fickle pride we have," Bardock said feeling warm energy blossom for his chest.

"It's about our race as a whole! As Saiyans!" Bardock said, his eyes gaining resolution.

"And for that reason alone," thick yellow energy burst out of Bardock replacing the white energy that was there before, his ki evolving.

"I cannot give up!"

Bardock's hair flew up into the air, yellow ki around his body skyrocketing. The volume of ki around him expanded four-fold as strength seeped out from his bones and into his palms. His black hair regained lustre as it fluttered in the night sky.

Bardock flew back, this time with a plan and thrust his arm out forward.

"Final...."

Energy swarmed at the edge of his palm, blue ki swelling out dangerously.

"Spirit...."

Bardock sucked his ki reserves dry and then some, putting everything he had into his next attack.

"CANON!" Bardock roared, every Saiyan on the land below raising their head having heard the bellow he produced.

FYUUUUUUSH!

Ki collided onto ki as a light blue stream of jetted out of Bardock's palm and smashed head-on with the Supernova.

"Tch!"

'It's not enough!'

Gine's eyes were glued to the scene as her hyperactive mind thought of what to do.

"Saiyans!"

She thought of a solution.

"We need to help out Bardock otherwise Freiza is going to destroy our planet!"

Many dazed Saiyans snapped back to reality under Gine's clear voice.

"W-What can we do?" a Saiyan questioned.

"Individually we are weak but together we are strong! On my command fire all of your ki in one big beam at the Supernova! And I mean all of it as if your life depended on it!"

Gine's eyes met with King Vegeta.

"Because it does!"

"Sir! Are we really going to let this-"

The minister who started speaking received the most glares he had in his life and promptly piped down. He stared at the floor ashamedly.

Bardock winced, he could feel his body trembling as he poured out all of his energy.

But Bardock heard what was happening below and knew what to do.

Bardock flew backwards, for the last time in his life, and emptied the last of his ki, pooling it towards his hand. His ki reserves already sucked dry, sought ki inside his vital organs forcefully ramming it into his hand.

"GO!"

FWUUUUUSH!

FWUUUUUSH!

FWUUUUUSH!

Ki from all over Vegeta City raced towards the spot Bardock was previously hitting the supernova viciously. Thin beams of ki flew into the night sky all merging together forming a large beam that tore through the air. It was a beautiful sight as all the ki beams coalesced into one and struck the supernova.

"Take.....EVERYTHING!" Bardock thundered as he encased his fist in ki.

"REBELLION SPEAR!" he yelled thrusting his fist past the ki beam and into the Supernova.

"Would you look at that!" Zarbon couldn't help but exclaim.

BOOOOM!

The supernova exploded sending Bardock crashing towards Planet Vegeta. The ki around his body dissipated as blood raced out off every orifice.

"They actually stopped it!"

The ki reserves of all who were present were emptied as they drained them in a last-ditch attempt at saving Vegeta.

"W-W-We did it!"

Cheering broke out among the people below.

"Supernova"

Frieza's voice broke the celebration of the Saiyans like a thunderclap on a sunny day.

"There's nothing we can do," King Vegeta uttered as he knelt in hopelessness.

THUD!

Bardock's body hit the ground.

"He's too powerful!"

Gine ran up to her husband and placed her hand over his beating heart.

"I'm proud of you," she said as she hugged his unconscious body.

The supernova now unobstructed set onto Planet Vegeta past the Saiyans who were powerless to stop it.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

The planet exploded, reducing the Saiyans to space dust, all trace and record of the civilisation scattering with the Planet.

"I told you the fireworks were good," Freiza said snarkily, a wide grin present on his face.

"Did you say the look on their faces when they thought they stopped it?" Freiza said, giggling throughout.

"I had to expend palpable willpower in order to not burst out laughing!" Freiza said finally cracking up.

Freiza flew back into his ship muttering to himself about wine.

"At least their all dead," Zarbon said, slightly off-put by the Saiyan's resistance.
