Chapter 4: Unexpected guest

After killing all the mobs on the planet, Raiden gained 5 additional levels. Since there weren't many high-level mobs on the planet, he couldn't grind more.

"Now I am at Raditz's level… Come to think of it, I wonder what timeline I am in…."

Raiden never paid much intention to the timeline since he had given up being involved in the plot, but now he had become curious.

Dragon Ball was one anime that inspired Raiden to be an outgoing person in the first place. Now that he was in this fictional world, he wanted to at least meet those characters in real life, especially Vegeta, Piccolo, and Gohan. They inspired him to develop as a character despite mistakes and sins.

"I guess I have to cross a galaxy then…."

The galaxy that Freeza ruled was different from the galaxy Cooler led. It would take around 6 months with the fastest ship, so much planning was needed.

"Oi, brat! The ride is ready! Let's get going!"

Waking from his monologue, Raiden heard Lemo from behind.

"Do you have a plan for our next destination?" Raiden asked. His only job was to take Lemo's people out of this planet. He was clueless about their next move.

"Don't underestimate my race. Although we may be weak in raw strength, we are good in the head. How do you think those people survived that mass extinction?"

"Then what about us?"

"What about us?"

"I mean, we are basically traitors now…."

"No, we are not! I know you get these power-ups somehow, but you will be inviting death if you think you could get away from those Frost Demons. I am telling you, each of them is a definition of destruction."

Raiden palmed his face and shook his head. Lemo probably had no idea what the definition of destruction was since he hadn't seen a certain purple cat.

"Then we will part ways once we get out of this planet," Raiden said as he began to prepare another pod ship.

"Listen, Raiden. You have the strength, and Cooler welcomes it. How about-"

"Lemo, don't utter a single more word!" Raiden turned and glared at Lemo, "We both know how much I hate working for that overgrown lizard. Becoming his strength, are you mocking me?!"

Lemo was taken aback by Raiden's sudden glare. It was time Raiden had ever shown his anger like this.

"You can go and kiss Cooler's boobies all you want, but I won't be going to that path whatever it takes!" Raiden paused momentarily before giving Lemo a cold stare, "Let me put straight. The moment we leave this planet, you, me, we are done."

Raiden said, beginning to walk away. He knew he was arrogant to his former superior, but his patience was limited.

Working for Cooler? This is a joke. When Cooler realizes Raiden's ever-growing potential, he will kill Raiden just like Freeza did/would to saiyans.

Just then, both of their scouters showed signs of someone approaching their planet.

"I think they are the reinforcements…." Lemo muttered. Since the planet was in the middle of rehabilitation, unexpected guests were common, but because of the scouters' range, the power level couldn't be measured.

However, it was different for Raiden.

Upon using his gamer ability to look into the stats, Raiden began to sweat.

"Oh, it's Cooler's best boot licker, Salza. Just my fucking luck!" Raiden cursed his lousy luck when everything was going well for him. Now simple rescue quest had become a dead or live mission.

"We are done…." Lemo mourned and fell to his knees.

"Nope, we have a chance." Raiden gritted his teeth and began to make a plan.

The only way Raiden could get away from Salza was to use Lemo and his people as scapegoats. However, Raiden knew Salza as he was the most clever person in the army. He won't let Raiden escape the planet without hiding his power level.

So, his only chance was to stall Salza in a space fight, let Lemo escape with all his people, and hope to damage Salza's ship so that Raiden could flee with a pod ship.

"Are you serious?! You will die even before you could even out a fight?!" Lemo protested.

"It was not a suggestion but an order. Now stop wasting my time and get the hell away from my sight!"

Lemo could only grit his teeth with a few tears before leaving Raiden.

Raiden took a deep breath before making his preparation for escape. He prepared an Attack Ball to be called on his signal.

(AN: Attack Ball is the actual name of Saiyan pod-like spaceship.)

Soon Lemo's ship began to rise in the air towards space while Raiden started to fly towards Salza's ship.

When Salza's ship started turning visible, Raiden stopped and began preparing his attack. And by attack means, he would use his signature technique, the Omega Beams.

One of the critical aspects of Omega Beams was their near-perfect accuracy. They could also pinpoint the enemy's weak spot for a perfect kill. However, Raiden wasn't aware if the same logic would apply to his stance.

It hadn't even been a day since he had activated the system. He didn't even know all the other aspects of this ability.

However, time was short, and life was on the line. Raiden had to take every chance for this gamble.

Some points could go in his favor. For example, the ship Salza was coming with. It was an old model ship that Raiden was very aware of.

If he could just hit the ship's central core, tables would be turned in his favor.

"Let's see how much KP I should use…. 30, no, 70… Fuck, even 100 won't be enough!" As Raiden poured the energy into his eyes, he realized he had to use more KP for a perfect shot.

Ultimately, Raiden used 135 out of 147 KP for the final shot.

"Let's go, babies! Show your daddy how much you are capable of!!" With that, Raiden released the Omega Beam.

Again, Raiden still couldn't contemplate with the strength of his Omega Beams as those red rays took several turns before hitting straight at the core of Salza's ship.

"Booyah!" Raiden cheered with a bright smile.

However, he began to descend the next moment as he had used a lot of energy in that attack. Moreover, his HP went down too from some backlash of the Omega Beam. His eyes were burning, but he could see enough as Lemo's ship left the planet.

Raiden took a deep breath of joy as he felt slightly better after playing hero games.

"Huff*… Now, I should… call…." Raiden took out his Attack Ball's remote to call it toward him.

It was then he saw the prompt of his mission completion.
