Goku seeks Korin's wisdom

"Your granddaughter is tough like her father and stubborn, too, Kakarot"

"He he he, you're right about that," Goku agrees, "she's got guts."

"So, you here for a rematch?" Goku smirks at his rival.

"Bulma demanded that you attend tomorrow's party!, that's why I'm here."

"Huh?" Goku asks confused, "Party? Tomorrow? That's news to me."

"Well, now you know. Don't make Bulma angry at me just because you forget or else!"

"Okay, okay," he attempts to calm Vegeta, "I'll be there—early too, I promise!"

"Hmph!"

As Vegeta flies off toward Bulma's, Goku picks up Pan ready to head home but he realizes how Chichi might react as he's about to fly, "Oh no!," he gasps:

If i take Pan home when she's knocked out like this, Chichi will be mad. I should stay here for a bit.

After he makes his decision to wait for Pan to wake up, it begins to rain.

"Oh, it's just a little rain," he affirms.

Then, a massive shower downpours.

"Oh come on! Really?!" he quizzes the universe.

Thunder loudly rumbles following lightning that brightens the sky in a flash, prompting him to carry her back to Chichi's even as he's certain she'll be upset with him.

"Goku!!!" Chichi yells at him.

"I'm really sorry, Chichi. She'll wake up soon, I promise. She's just very tired," he begs her.

"Look what you did to my sweetie! She's bruised and she's covered in dirt! And she's wet!"

"Sorry!" he pleads for forgiveness.

"Oh why can't you be a good grandfather," tears fill her eyes, "You should've helped her with homework instead of sparring like a meathead."

She cannot hold back her tears as she watches her unconscious granddaughter who's resting on the couch.

"You're kicked out for tonight!" Chichi metes his punishment which disappoints Goku, "this way you'll learn to not push your only granddaughter so hard that she passes out during a simple sparring match!"

"Aww, really Chichi?" Goku tries to sweettalk her out of her bad mood, "Pan had gotten stronger and she's been training with Piccolo if I'd--"

"I don't care! You hurt my darling sweet Pan!" Chichi yells, "Out!!"

"I'm sorry Chichi," he apologizes before flying away headed to the lookout.

On his way, Goku's ears start tearing and doubt creeps into his thoughts.

I am a terrible grandfather.

I should've been more caring, just like Grandpa Gohan.

Back on the lookout,

"It's a very rainy night Kami," Mr Popo says.

"Indeed, Mr Popo." he responds, "Ah, it appears Goku's headed back here."

"That boy!" Mr Popo sighs.

As Dende and Mr Popo wait for Goku, the Pilaf gang tiptoes behind the buildings on the lookout, clad in all-black.

These ninja clothes should keep us well hidden and harder to notice. Pilaf thinks to himself, smiling.

"Thank goodness for this rain, huh Emperor?" Agent Mai congratulates him.

"Huh?" his attention brought back to the moment.

"I was saying that it's great that it's raining during our search," she repeats.

"Ah! Yes, that's why you must always check the weather report," he smiles.

"But Emperor it's not raining here, why's it good that it's pouring cats and dogs below the lookout?" Shu is confused.

"Because," Pilaf educates him, "the rain is so loud it prevents our sound from being heard easily!"

"Oh," Shu now understands.

"Now hurry," Pilaf orders, "Search every nook and cranny for the Black Star dragon balls."

At that time, Goku makes a quick stop at Korin's tower.

"Hey master Korin, hey Yajirobe..."

Huh, it seems no one's up here.

Meanwhile Korin's watching the Pilaf gang sneak onto the lookout: What could these guys be up to?

"Master Korin?" Goku tries to search.

"Oh, Goku. Down, in here."

"Oh hi, Master Korin," Goku greets, "I don't see Yajirobe, though."

"Yeah, he's gone for a little tour. He's been going on little trips for a few years actually, then he returns with interesting stories."

"Ah, I see."

"What's wrong? I can see some doubt in your heart."

"You really are amazing Master Korin."

"Well, you're pure of heart, Goku. Any blemish on that is hard to ignore, and yet, I think you came here to talk about it, didn't you?"

"Ha ha," Goku manages to smile, "you figured me out, master."

"So, what's wrong?"

"Well, it's what Chichi said. I think she's right, too."

"Mhm, and what did she say?"

"Well, she said I'm a terrible grandfather. and i realized that she's right. I'm not like Grandpa Gohan."

"Gohan? Isn't he your son?"

"ha ha, no master," Goku smiles for a little bit, "no, i named my son Gohan in memory of the man who raised me."

"Oh, i see."

"I thought I told you about that?"

"Really? It must've been a long time since then."

"Ha ha, i guess so."

"So, your wife said you're not a great grandpa, and it reminded you of how caring your grandpa Gohan was and now you feel you don't compare to him?"

"Pretty much, ha ha," Goku confirms.

"Ah, I see."

"Am I disappointing Pan, master?" Goku sighs, "or, is it true that I've been disappointing her all this time?"
