Living a Lie

She awoke with a smile, she was finally able to get a student! But first she had to go about her day. Hearing her mother from downstairs calling for her.

"Honey! It's time to get up, you have college classes today!" Her mother shouted up the stairs to hopefully wake up her daughter on time for class.

"Okay mom, be right down!" She replied to her mother, after 20 minutes she was dressed and ready for classes. Making her way downstairs she saw her brother. "Kaito…" Hana looked at him eating breakfast and got lost in thought.

"Hm? Need something?" Kaito raised his head and looked her in the eyes. Startling Hana by accident.

"No! its nothing" Kaito reminded her of that new guy she will apprentice from now on. In fact he's a new player, but there's no way it's him. If he found out she likes anime that would be disastrous. 

"Whatever Weirdo" Kaito went back to eating breakfast and ignoring Hana. "Alright mom! I'm off to school! Wish me luck on the English test today!" Kaito walked out the door into the snow. Even through the thick walls she could hear the distinct crunch of snow for a few seconds. 

"Hana dear you'll be late if you stand around like that all day" Yukko chuckled and tried to snap her daughter from her daze. 

"Huh?" Hana suddenly realized what time it was and rushed out the door to her car. She turned the key in the ignition and the car started with a low hum before turning over and erupting with life. 

[Half and hour later in the college campus] 

Hana ran as fast as she could, almost slipping a few times as she made her way to class. When she finally made it inside she bolted for her first class running into someone in the hallway. 

"Oof " They both fell on the floor with a loud thud. "I'm so sorry!" a high voice answered the silence that claimed the air quickly as if to fill the void left by their collison. 

"Nah it's okay " Hana rubbed her head trying to gain her bearings as her vision cleared and she saw it was that new transfer student. Hana got up and offered a hand out for the girl. "Here let me help you up"

"Thank you" She took Hana's hand and rose from the ground with an uncoordinated elegance.

"You that new Transfer?" Hana asked out of the blue, seemingly forgetting she was late for class. Hana tilted her head to the side and placed her hand on her chin waiting for a response. 

"O-OH! yes! " the girl stuttered out. "I'm Samantha!" (Many of you may remember the Original Incarnation of her later being changed to Syoko!) She blurted out half embarrassed and half astonished that she did that. 

"I see…I'm Hana it's nice to meet you" Hana stretched out her arm for a handshake when she heard the bell and bolted down the hall effectively leaving Samantha to wonder what that was about. 

Hana's mind was racing as she ran through the corridors she made a sudden stop in front of the door to her class heaving and wheezing trying to catch her breath and she dragged herself inside. 

"Well…well ...well look who decided to show up" the teacher said, not looking back from his spot by the blackboard as he wrote equations and fractions. 

"Sorry about that teach" Hana said breathlessly. She coughed and straightened herself upright and walked to her seat. She sat down with a sigh "Finally a chair…" she said to herself as she melted into the seat. After running what felt like a marathon she was comfortable in these bad plastic chairs. 

Hana sat through the lecture but her mind was elsewhere. Who was that boy she met? He was definitely new to the game, only had one skill equipped and he had a weird stat profile. All of his Points were evenly distributed but they had an extra number on the side. As if he had more potential to grow. 

"Kaito!" Darren ran over and slammed his phone on Kaitos desk. "Dude look at this!' Kaito looked down not expecting to see much when he saw his new Instructor In what looked like a raid battle.

"You guys stay back!" Risa shouted back at all the downed and injured patrollers. "I've got this Justice Junkie" Risa burst forward leaving her black leather jacket behind in the wind and preparing to strike. 

"Justice Junkie?" Toppo to his credit was keeping it together for the most part, but those who mock justice must be punished. "You dare mock Justice!" Toppo's large hand wrapped around Risa's throat catching her. "You must be taught a lesson" A dark purple energy started to gather in the center of Toppo's palm. 

"She's gonna die!" A random Patroller yelled out. 

Risa didn't even looked phased, she just stared deep into Toppos eyes. As if daring him to extinguish her existence. Toppo's grip loosened a bit allowing Risa to talk. "Is your justice worth extinguishing the hope of others?" Risa Smirked and swung back and landed a full force kick under Toppos jaw sending him to the dirt. 

Toppo rose back to his feet and was enraged she used his love of justice to get under his skin. "HAKAI!" Toppo shouted and a small orb fellow towards Riza at high speeds. 

"Now this is my kind of fight…" Risa's expressions were wild with a battle for lust as she rushed at the orb. 

"Wow that Woman is crazy!" Darren said as he looked with great interest at the footage. Meanwhile Kaito is sweating bullets. That was his new Instructor? He was a dead man. 

"Yeah crazy" Kaito said in a defeated tone he just gave up and hit his head on the desk. "Im gonna die…" Kaito was crying fake tears as he contemplated his predicament.
