Volume 19 Birth of the twins and the death of Yuri

Shion heard a knock on his door, it was odd since he didn't order room service. When he opened the door, he saw Yuri standing at the door, his body was trembling. Shion dropped the phone in his hands, "Yuri, what is wrong?!" Yuri gasping for air said, "Shion! I can't breathe…. everything is black…how did l get here…" Shion embraced him warmly in his arms, "It is good that you are here, what would you like me to do?" Yuri poured out all his tears, "It hurts so bad that I can't breathe…Shion…" Shion closed the door, he lifted Yuri in his arms. Shion comforted Yuri until he fell asleep, the message notifications on his phone popped up nonstop. Shion switched off the phone, he tacked Yuri to sleep. When Victor was fully dressed, Yuri had already left the palace, "Fuck! Fuck! Who followed my wife?!" Sam bowed down and replied, "I have guards who are on his tail, he is headed to Prince Shion's hotel." Anya was perfectly calm for the havoc she had caused, Victor called his mother, "Mother, you have to come back. I have messed up big time." Nara was extremely worried even though he wasn't aware of the situation. Victor was in a foul mood, at work he kept shouting at the employees for silly mistakes. He constantly checked his phone, when he visited Shion's office he had taken a day off. Yuri's number was unreachable, which led Victor to visit Shion's apartment. Shion was trying to cheer Yuri up, "Yuri, how about we go to the park? Or movies…staying indoors isn't our thing remember?" Yuri bit his lips, Shion gently held his cheek and said, "Did I do something terrible to Yuri and the bunnies?" There was a knock on the door, Shion handed Yuri a bunch of tickets. Shion looked at the camera and saw Victor and his bodyguards at the door, he mumbled, "I was expecting this, but all this drama is bad for your children Victor. I wonder what troubles you have brewed for Yuri…" Yuri startled Shion, "Open the door." Victor saw Yuri standing at the doorway, all the words he practised for apology disappeared. Yuri with teary eyes looked at him, he clenched his hands, "How long have you been sleeping with her behind my back? She is the owner of the cologne I complained about, right? How could you have sex with her in a place we live together?" Victor's guilt and embarrassment held his tongue, Shion was confused on what was happening. Victor cleared his throat, "I brought her home to discuss business, I am sorry…" Yuri slapped Victor so hard that it left an imprint on his cheek. Yuri grit his teeth in anger, "If you were putting on a show, as a viewer I must admit it was amusing…" "I never intended to hurt you; Yuri please hear me out." Victor tried to plead with Yuri. Shion didn't want Yuri to be stressed, "Prince Victor, I think you should leave. Stress isn't good for a pregnant person." Yuri walked into his room ignoring Victor's helpless cries, "Are you happy that your sister has ruined my marriage?" Shion had finally caught up to the story, he replied, "Are you trying to find comfort through blaming me? What Anya does during her private time is none of my concern…I must admit though I procrastinated disaster upon her arrival. Couldn't you have waited till Yuri was better to create trouble for him?" Victor punched the wall before he stormed out of the house. Victor arrived home and saw his parents anxiously waiting for him. Victor threw himself on the sofa, "I have messed up big time…I don't even know how to solve this mess." Usagi looking around asked, "Where is Yuri? I heard you lost the land to K group; these types of mistakes are common." Victor sighed, "Yuri saw me having sex with Anya in the study room…currently Shion is taking care of him." Nara and Usagi were puzzled and greatly disappointed with Victor, Nara held back Usagi from hitting his son. After Usagi had cooled down, Nara said, "How could you do this? You know Yuri is under a lot of stress with the pregnancy and operations. What he needs right now is love and support from us, but you… I am very disappointed in you Victor." Usagi looking at Nara said, "You have to fix this mess before it spiral out of control."

Shion grabbed a blanket and his pillow, he slowly opened Yuri's door peeping inside. Yuri was staring at the stars; he was lost in his thoughts. Shion holding onto the door with puppy eyes asked, "Can we have a sleepover party?" Yuri wiped away the tears on his face, he smiled, "I…am sorry, sure come and sit here." Yuri was wearing Shion's pyjamas, they were a bit oversized but super comfortable and warm. "In my next life, I wished to meet you again so as to repay you for your kindness. You have been a great friend to me…more of a partner in crime now that l think about it." Yuri's words touched Shion's heart. Shion kissed Yuri's hands and replied, "What matters most to me is your happiness and safety. Remember you promised to take me to the park after you give birth." Yuri placed Shion's head on his leg, "I should practice my lullaby skills on you." Shion's heart started to beat faster when Yuri kissed him on the forehead, Yuri cleared his throat as he sang Twinkle little star. Yuri slept whilst cuddling Shion, their pose was cute and heart-warming. At the middle of the night Shion woke up to Yuri's groans, he quickly uncovered his bed and saw a pool of blood mixed with water. Shion quickly carried Yuri in his arms, "Hold on Yuri, I will take you to the hospital!" Shion had no shoes on his feet, his clothes were stained with Yuri's blood when he carried him to the car. Mike informed Victor as soon as he received the message from Shion, Victor rushed to hospital. When he arrived, he saw Shion by the waiting centre with tears on his face, barefooted, blood on his clothes and hands, Victor asked, "Where is Yuri?" Anxiously waiting for a glimpse of good news Victor paced up and down, Shion refused to leave the hospital. His guards brought clean clothes and shoes for him to wear, Nara kept praying every second. After spending six hours in the emergency room Doctor Lucy and Doctor Mike came out of the operating room. Mike looking at Victor said, "We had to perform the operation sooner…we managed to transfer the twin successfully in the artificial womb for further development." Nara sighed, "Thank heavens…can we see Yuri?" Doctor Lucy lowering her head replied, "His Majesty signed a non-disclosure to ensure the safety of his children before his…we performed the surgery with his wishes at heart. He has lost a lot of blood and suffered extensive internal wounds…his condition is beyond critical…" "What did you say?" Shion felt dizzy and felt a sharp pain on his chest, he collapsed on the floor. Victor felt powerless; his legs were weak to stand. The doctors quickly attended to Shion, Nara and Usagi were both shocked. Breaking down to tears Victor, "This is all my fault, I will give my life to save his…mother is this a dream…wake me up."

Nara and Usagi were taken to the room where the twins were, there were peaceful and so small. Victor dressed in sanitised clothing and gloves entered the VIP room, different machines were plugged on Yuri's body. Victor knelt on the floor, "I never wanted you to end up this way…Yuri please wake up…" Mike felt pity to see Victor in such a tearful state. When Shion opened his eyes it was almost midnight, he walked out of his room. Shion went to the reception, after shamelessly convincing and begging a nurse, Yuri's door was unlocked. The nurse gave them privacy, Shion silently broke down to tears when he saw all the machines plugged in Yuri's body. Shion with a trembling hand, held Yuri's hand he kissed him and said, "I will wait for you to wake up Yuri, please come back to me when you aren't angry. I might not be the one you love but to me you are the only one l love. If you die, there will be two funerals Yuri." A symbol appeared on Yuri's forehead, Shion kissed Yuri on the forehead, "I truly love you, even if it take me forever l will wait for you." When Shion kissed Yuri, the sign on the forehead disappeared. Shion slept beside Yuri, the nurse forgave him for overstaying his welcome mostly because the two of them looked cute together.

Four months passed and Yuri's condition didn't change, Mike knew the royals were troubling his soul. The twins were safely released from their artificial womb, one was a girl and the other was a boy. The girl had similar features to Yuri and the boy looked more like Victor, amidst their sorrows the royals had a glimpse of joy. Mike held a meeting with the royals, relating the news was a hard job for him. Mike handed over a folder to Lord Usagi, "My Lord, it is wise that we finally switch the machine off to release His Majesty from all this pain. His condition is getting worse as each day passes by, as his doctor it is my duty to share my thoughts. His Majesty wished to see his children before he was buried." Victor objected to the idea; Mike was dismissed so the family would further discuss the matter. Victor said, "I need more time with him." Usagi could relate to the pain Victor was facing, "I understand your pain, I was shattered and hurt when I lost you mother. It is a difficult choice, but you need to release Yuri from all this pain." Victor cried bitterly in Usagi's arms; a decision was made to set Yuri free. Victor took the twins in Yuri's room, the machines continuously beeped in the room. Victor said, "You gave me the greatest gift of all, but I gave you the greatest pain of all. It pains my heart to see you surrounded by all these machines and in pain, I am sorry for hurting you. I love you…" The twins were taken out of the room, Victor turned off the machine. Doctor Lucy said looking at the clock, "The patient Yuri Chaewon Usagi has passed on, the time of death is twenty minutes past four." Victor kissed Yuri on the forehead before he covered his head with a white sheet.
