Simulation Drill part 1.

"Arwin Antoine, please join me in my office." Gerald said before turning around and heading out of the room.

before stepping out, Arwin made eye contact with elena. She shrugged and made her way for the door.

Elena's mind raced back to the previous night. She was worried, "What if they already knew what had happened?" She thought. would Arwin rat her out? she wondered.

the remaining part of the combat lesson passed like a blur to Elena. She was absent-minded. She wanted to know what was going on with Arwin.

After the class, she went straight to Arwin's room since Arwin never returned back to the combat lesson.

[knock! knock]

she waited for a long time, without getting any response. She was about to leave when she felt someone's presence approaching from behind.

"Just who I wanted to see." Arwin said coldly. "Ah, you startled me," Elena responded. "I wanted to check up on you and see if you're okay."

"Hnm, more like you were checking on me to see if you're safe." Arwin said with a raised eyebrow. Elena knew arwin had seen right through her. There was no point pretending like the main reason she was there was because she cared about arwin. Fine, she was grateful to Arwin for saving her life. but she was more concerned about herself.

Elena was yet to respond when Arwin continued. "I took care of last night issues. They know I'm the only mage vampire in the academy with the ability of blood manipulation." She paused before continuing.

"they've carried out their investigations, from the way we left the scene last night without taking care of the flesh that was scattered all over the place,they know I'm the one behind last nights killing, I didn't mention your name, so no one knows you were there. But this simply means you owe me one."

Elena released the breath she didn't know she was holding. " But what does this mean for you? Are you in some kind of trouble, Arwin?" She asked.

"Not really, so long I'm in the 1st city, no one will dare harm me, after all I'm the ward of the first Lord, Lord Antoine," Arwin said nonchalantly.

"I see." Elena said. they both chatted for a while before elena left for her room.

The next morning, Elena and the other students all heard a voice inside their heads, informing them to make their way to the northern gardens. the voice was being transmitted to them through telepathy.

this was the ability of the instructor in charge of the morning simulation training [a division of the combat class].

Everyone of the first year students began making their way to the northern gardens. upon arrival, they could all see a slim, beautiful lady. She had pink hair that was down to her waistline.

"Welcome, First year students. I am instructor Bella.for the next year, you are all required to come here every morning for your simulation drill. for this drill, the use of abilities and weapons is strictly prohibited. Some of you are still on the ordinary vampire Rank,so to make the field even , no one is allowed to use any sort of abilities.if you're caught using abilities during the drill you'll be required to go through the drill all over again."

[Chatter. chatter]

the students began chatting amongst themselves. Those without abilities were happy. Those who were privileged to achieve the mage ranks were obviously not in support of the new development.

pointing to the Maze behind her, instructor Bella continued, "Within this maze are several creatures

and also several hidden rewards, the students with the highest rewards at the end of the year would be rewarded."

"The creatures are put in place to guard the hidden rewards. Mind you, these creatures won't hesitate to attack you. Moreover, they are drawn to the use of abilities. All you need to do is gather as much hidden rewards as you can.Now, you all have two hours to complete the drill."

" Don't forget there's only one way to enter and exit the maze. Any student who fails to complete the drill during the alloted time will have to go through the drill over again."

with that, she set her timer and gave them the signal to begin the drill. the students began rushing into the maze, somewhere trying to enter before the others, this result in a lot of pushing and dragging.

they all wanted a head start in finding the hidden rewards.Elena was thinking about the possible creatures they would be facing.

She wanted to be on the safe side, so she took her time before stepping into the maze. upon entering, she could see several turns she could take. She was wondering about the best part to take when dracula spoke up.

"You do know you can scan the maze with the help of the system in order for you to get the map of the maze?"

"Really?" Elena contemplated for a while before speaking up again, I don't think I would use the system for now, I would only rely on the system when I have no options left.Thanks, drac." She responded at the same time, choosing one of the parts to follow.

"Someone got manners today." dracula teased. Elena ignored his comments she wanted to concentrate on the drill. Upon entering into the maze, she could tell the entire maze was a simulation, but she was unsure about the creatures instructor Bella had warned about.

for all she knew they could be real like the goblins, but the last time, they were allowed to use weapons, this time around if the creatures are real and weapons are not allowed, then the battle would be a hard one. she thought.
