"I have eaten already." Ashley replied feeling a little uncomfortable, and hoping that he wouldn't force her to have dinner with him like he forced her to wait for him the other night to finish eating and still didn't eat anything.
"Okay." He nodded and took his focus back to the road. Ashley was relieved.
Nobody said anything after that. Ashley plugged in her earphones and stared out the window till they got to the mansion.
When they were inside Ashley excused herself to go to her room. The day had come to an end again so fast and it was almost time to go to bed.
She dropped her bag and sat down on the couch feeling exhausted. She stayed seated for a while, trying to get her strength back before she got up and went straight to the bathroom.
Ashley took care of herself, washed her hair, took her bath and was still in her bath robe, drying her hair when a knock came on her door.
"Come in." She shouted from where she was standing drying her hair by the mirror, thinking it would be a servant.
When the door didn't open Ashley wondered why. She looked at it and looked away. Whoever was there probably wasn't serious. After a few seconds she heard the knock again then she annoyingly went to open it and it was Damon she saw standing in front of her.
"You didn't hear me knock?" He asked looking all serious.
"I said to come in. You didn't hear that?" She asked back.
"I didn't."
Ashley nodded. "Is there any problem?"
Damon cleared his throat and she saw that he hesitated before he spoke, like he was going to regret whatever he was going to say next.
"I wasn't here, you didn't see me." He said looking deeply into her eyes. Then vanished the next instant.
Ashley shook her head wondering why she was standing there. She looked from left to right and didn't see anyone.
Was she imagining things now? She remembered hearing a knock on her door and coming to open it but she thought she had seen Damon.
She was thinking too much about him now. God please! She was really losing her sanity. Ignoring that, she went back inside and locked her door then she made her bed and laid down to sleep.
But, she found it hard to fall asleep. She wasn't comfortable and changed her lying position many times but she still couldn't sleep. So Ashley sat up. She felt disturbed for some reason, she didn't quite feel at ease.
Oh Lord! It couldn't be her weirdness that was doing this again right? Because she felt like something was wrong or was going to be. And it disturbed her so much that she couldn't find sleep.
Ashley got down from the bed and walked to the window again, opening it to receive more fresh air. The air conditioning in the room wasn't enough for her at the moment. She closed her eyes, enjoying the cool breeze, silently praying and wishing that nothing was going to be wrong and all this she was feeling was just tiredness.
She stood by the window for more than thirty minutes before she returned to her bed.
Ashley still couldn't sleep and kept turning from left to right. She would lie on her back sometimes then frustratedly turn to her side or maybe lie on her stomach. It continued like that till she eventually fell asleep lying on her stomach.
Ashley had someone visit her dreams this night. It was the demon man from the previous nights and this time he was with some others.
She was in that dark room again tied to a chair but candles were lit up again and she could see the people there with her. Their presence and the chill atmosphere made the hair on her skin stand.
They were four and all looked human. Ashley recognized the one that had come before and he had that evil smirk playing on his lips.
"Ashley. I told you we will meet again didn't I?" The man she recognized said, sounding like he was letting her know that he kept his word.
Ashley wasn't surprised that he knew her name now, he was a demon after all. She shot him a hard glare and he chuckled.
"I decided to give you some space." He said again. "But I'm back and I thought you would like to meet my friends." He grinned.
Ashley looked at them, they all looked back at her with hatred and disgust. What did she do to get such looks? She wondered.
"Why am I tied to a chair?" Ashley asked, her voice laced with anger.
"You don't have to worry about that. It's only so you could behave while we have this small talk." He winked.
Ashley couldn't describe the hatred she had for this man. And if looks could kill, God knows that right now they'd be crying at his funeral.
"What do you want from me?" She asked, trying to keep in her fear and nervousness.
He looked at her thoughtfully for a moment then one of the other demons came over. Ashley could see his face well and he looked so strange, he had golden eyes, even though he looked human.
What a very strange color of eyes but one of them also had silver eyes. Was that peculiar to demons? Having really strange eye color, even as humans, apart from the red everybody was used to knowing demons had?
But even with whatever type of eye color, these beings here were pure beauties and she would have really admired their beauty if they hadn't put her in the state she was in, because now, she badly wished she could mess up those pretty faces of theirs.
This one that visited her twice before had almost red eyes. In his monstrous form, his eyes had been really really red. She wondered what color of eyes the rest had too when they looked like their real selves.
Ooohh, she shuddered. She didn't want to know.
"There's a lot we want young lady." The golden eyed man spoke. His voice alone sent chills down her spine. Now, she preferred the first man talking to her.
"Why are you doing this to me when I am not even the one you want?" Ashley asked angry and frustrated.
She might as well seek answers from the enemy themselves since the good people, and her were waiting for the right time. Right now, she felt it was sort of a right time.
She heard a few chuckles. "You're really ignorant about all this, aren't you?" The man she knew asked shaking his head in a pathetic manner at her.
"So you know." Another one of them spoke as if realizing something no one else did. This one had white hair and maybe amber eyes that looked like they were glowing in the room. "You know you're not the one we want, yet you asked what we want from you." He spoke calmly.
Ashley was a bit surprised he noticed that. She had not even thought that way. She was about saying something when the golden eyed man spoke.
"We're doing this because...." He paused and she felt the cold in the room increase. "It's the best way to get to him and hurt him." He spoke between clenched teeth, and squeezed his hand so much that his knuckles almost turned blue. He was clearly angry.
They were all angry at Damon it seemed. What had he done to them that made them have to use her to get to him?
"You mean without me you'll be unable to get to him?" She asked confused.
They exchanged looks before the man she was familiar with spoke again. "Till you find out more that part is none of your business." He said giving her a very stern and scary look which made Ashley gulp hard.
Till she finds out more? He also knew there was more she didn't know? Now she was really curious. What was this more all about? When will that right time to find out more ever be? Why did she have to be used against her will and couldn't even really know what was going on? A lot of questions kept popping up in her head and she closed her eyes.
"Keep in mind, all these are only warm ups." The man spoke again. "We're coming soon, make sure he does a good job at hiding you because when we arrive, it's gonna be hell on earth for you both."
Ashley shot her eyes open while a gasp left her lips and she sat up immediately.
Hell on Earth?
They were coming soon? Oh no! The people Damon talked about were coming soon!
The uneasiness she felt before she slept wasn't just her being weird. It was real. All that just happened proved it. Now she knew something was really wrong and was really going to be wrong.
Her wrists were sore, she could see marks on them. It felt so real, as if she was tied in real life. She rubbed her wrists grimacing at the marks the ropes left that were visible.
That probably wasn't just a dream, they really came to her. Good Lord, even being here didn't prevent them from coming to her. She had been happy no nightmares but this, this wasn't just a dream, they were really coming to her, it just seemed like she was at sleep when they came and she woke up after.
The mansion only prevented the monster chase nightmares but not the ones of these crazy beings.
She had to let Damon know about this. How should he do a good job on hiding her when they could still come to her dreams? Could Damon protect her dreams too? How did they even know he was hiding her? Ugh... That was stupid to ask, of course they would know. Maybe she should just quit work.
Even staying here wasn't safe enough if they could come to her dreams to torture her. But if they were coming to earth would they still be able to come to her dreams?
They were demons no matter what, she shouldn't underestimate them.
