13. Saved

We had to actually move the rocks because it was too dangerous that the cave would collapse. After a while we cleared them away so we waited with Lockhart who had lost his memories.

It took a long time but eventually Harry came back with Ginny and Dumbledores Phoenix Fawkes. He told us that it was Tom Riddle who opened the chamber. Tom Riddle was Voldemort and he was the heir of Slytherin.

He said that the Gryffindor sword came to him as well as Fawkes. Fawkes had blinded the Basilisk and Harry had killed it. So it wouldn't be bothering anyone anymore. 

Fawkes had to carry us back up through the slide into the bathroom. On the way up Lockhart said "this is just like magic!" Lockharts memory charm backfired so he had no idea about magic.

I don't think Harry realized that I was the heir of Slytherin and Voldemort was as well so we must be related.

He said Tom Riddle said it was a lucky chance he was alive. His mom sacrificed herself so it was not Harry's magical ability. I nodded because it was true. Harry did nothing his mom choose to save him.

When we got back up we followed Fawkes to McGonagalls office. Mrs.Weasley hugged Ginny. "You saved her! How?"

Dumbledore was standing next to the fire. Mrs.Weasley hugged us. Harry started talking saying everything we had done including talking to Aragog and finding the note by Hermione.

"Its strange how you-know-who enchanted Ginny when my sources say he is in Albania." Dumbledore said.

"You-know-who? Enchant Ginny? Ginny has been... has she?" Mr.Weasley asked.

"It was the diary" Harry said.

"Ginny didn't I teach you anything? If you can't see where it keeps its brain you can't trust it." Mr.Weasley said.

"I'm sorry it was in the books mum got me." Sobbed Ginny.

Dumbledore said Ginny needs to go to hospital. And that there needed to be a feast which McGonagall went to tell the kitchens. Only the three of us were left. He looked at the boys and said " I seem to remember telling you both that I would have to expel you if you broke any more school rules, which means that I will have to eat .y own words.  All 3 of you will receive special awards to the school And 200 points apiece for Gryffindor plus 200 for Slytherin." He looked at Lockhart and said  But one of us seems to be keeping mightily quiet about his part in this dangerous adventure cama Y But one of us seems to be keeping mightily quiet about his part in this dangerous adventure, why so modest, gilderoy But one of us seems to be keeping mightily quiet about his part in this dangerous adventure, why so modest, Gilderoy?"

I had completely forgot he was still there. Then Ron said quickly " Professor dumbledore, there was an accident down in the chamber of secrets. Professor Lockhart-"

"Am I a professor?" Lockhart said looking very confused.

" He was trying to do a memory charm and it backfired." I said.

Dumbledore asked Ron I to take Lockhart to the infirmary. So we left as I was walking down the hall I saw Mr.Malfoy who stopped and said "Hunter, I belive was searching for you earlier. He will be thrilled to see you are alright."

I nodded at him and kept walking because even though Draco liked me his mom was not fond of me and his dad was not rude but I don't think he liked me either. Draco kept telling me it was becuae he never really had friends so they just weren't sure how to act around real friends. I didn't care as long as I could be with him.

When we got Lockhart to the hospital wing I told Ron I needed to go. I found Draco who was on his way to the feast and I hugged him. "Where were you Hunter?"

"Doing something stupid again. I'm sorry. Come on. Let's go to the feast. It was an amazing, it lasted all night and when Hermione came back I hugged her. Everyone cheered when Hagrid came back and it was a great party. It was great exams had been canceled.

The rest of the year went by quick and it was sunny everyday. Draco and I spent everyday together because we didn't have exams so we weren't studying. With my extra 200 points we barely beat Gryffindor again in the house cup.

When we got on the train he and I just talked about our year together and when we were mad at each other and knew when we arrived at his manor we would talk about us. I hoped we would be together but who knows.
