Chapter 25

Taylor murmured, "There's a lady with him."

"I can see that," Jessie observed as she continued to watch Marco enter the room. Din, on the other hand, was able to listen in on their chats because she had failed to stop the call she was on with him.

Marco's expression was befuddling. "What's the matter, babe?" He was accompanied by a lady who inquired.

Jessie asked Taylor, "Babe?"

"The door was unlocked. I was certain I had locked it before I left this morning. Jessie must have been present." he murmured as he looked around the room.

"Who is Jessie?" asked the lady.

"It doesn't make a difference." He walked into the kitchen and opened the door. He screamed out, "Jessie," and when he didn't see her, he made his way to the room, still shouting her name.

Taylor reiterated Marco's comments, "Doesn't make any difference? He just denied you."

Jessie remarked to her, "I also heard that."

Marco returned to the living room and stood in front of the lady. "She walked away with her suitcase. She was probably too enraged to lock the door and leave." As he pulled the lady's hair away from her face, he placed his palm on her hair. "No one will be able to interrupt us now." As they kissed, he carried her and laid her on the table.

Taylor used her hand to softly seal Jessie's eyes so she wouldn't see her ex-fiance kiss another woman. "I told you a long time ago to get rid of this jerk. He couldn't even wait for months before he arrives at your house to bring a hoe."

Jessie sobbed quietly. "So he didn't care about the eight years?" Taylor's hand was gently taken from her face as she whispered.

"Are you sure you want to watch this?" Taylor enquired.

Jessie exited the doorway and entered the bathroom, taking a seat on the Jacuzzi top. "I can't believe he was able to move on so quickly as if nothing had happened."

Taylor carefully closed the door behind them as she stepped over to her friend. "You'll talk to Din Cooper tomorrow," Taylor said. Din already ended the call the instant he heard his name. He'd overheard Jessie's experience. Taylor removed the phone from Jessie's grip.

Jessie began to chuckle, which was quickly followed by her sobbing. "I'm not sure how we were married, but the letter in the envelope was signed by me."

"It's possible he forged it. Have you considered it?" Taylor enquired.

"No, I don't believe he would go to such lengths. He probably has no idea what my signature looks like."

"However, he discovered your home address... In my opinion, this man can have whatever he wants." She put her hand on Jessie's shoulder. "I'm sorry you were forced to witness it. When Marco leaves the living room, we'll have to go. Is that all right?"

With tears in her eyes, Jessie glanced up at Taylor. "Do I have a choice?" She inquired.

Taylor aided her in removing the tears from her eyes. "I'm just relieved that your relationship with Marco has come to an end. Perhaps the gods have something set up for you. Don't give it too much thought." Taylor said, but Jessie remained silent, recalling what Marco had done with the girl he had brought in earlier.

Taylor decided to check out Marco again after fifteen minutes had gone by. She quietly opened the door and peered out. She looked at Jessie, who had her head bowed and her arms wrapped around her folded legs. "The coast is clear," Taylor whispered.

Jessie's head remained bowed.

"Jess, the coast is clear." Taylor spoke up once more. "Please." She muttered. When Taylor approached Jessie when she wasn't moving, she put her hand on Jessie's shoulder and smiled. "Please, we can discuss this when we get back to my flat, but for now, we must depart."

Jessie raised her eyes at her.

"I know it's difficult, but trust me when I say that you don't want him to see you here." According to Taylor, "Please rise." She grabbed Jessie's hand in hers and helped her to her feet. "Be careful where you step."

Jessie exited the Jacuzzi and walked through the open door. She and Taylor tiptoed their way into the living room and out the front door.

Taylor grabbed Jessie's hand and dashed to her car, which was parked in the corner of the house. It wasn't the kind of place Marco would notice late at night.

"Give me the keys and I'll drive." She inquired. Jessie quickly took it from her pocket and handed it to Taylor. They got inside the car, and Taylor took them out onto the highway. Jessie wasn't particularly chatty on the way home. Taylor spoke to her, and she merely nodded.

Taylor brought the automobile to a halt. "We've arrived, Jess." She remarked this as she turned off the car and took the key out of the ignition. She stepped out through the door on her side. She stepped over to Jessie's door and assisted her in descending. "You shouldn't be sad about him. Also, remember to contact Din Cooper to get out of the marriage, or you can choose to stay in the marriage and relocate to his home. I will support whatever you choose."

Before entering the house, Jessie didn't say anything and moved to the back of the car to remove her bags, which Taylor assisted her with.

"I'll prepare you a cup of hot tea." Taylor shut the door behind them as soon as they walked into the house. Jessie took her belongings from Taylor and proceeded to the other spare room next to Taylor's. "Would you like some bread?" As Jessie shut the door behind her, Taylor screamed. She figured Jessie didn't hear her, so she decided to take the bread with her.
