New Serum

Seeing that his successor was so confident, Dr Arbor did not have the confidence to look down on her abilities any longer.

He was hoping for a miracle for so long but he was constantly reminded of his approaching death that was closer and closer everyday.

It was to the point that he had given up hope and was just trying to survive a day at a time.

If Blush could provide a miracle for him then he would do his best to believe in her.

The syringe was picked up and he started to inject it slowly into his veins.

He sat back in his seat with his brown eyes closed peacefully and a small smile on his lips.

Suddenly there was a little shaking and his face tensed up which showed that the serum was taking effect.

His greyed and white hairs started to whiten further until every hair on his buzz cut hair was completely white with the addition of his handlebar moustache and goatee.

His slightly paled skin started to redden slightly as the heat of his body started to increase along with his rapid heartbeat. "Ah.."

Suddenly his temperature started to drop and so did his heartbeat.

His skin gradually paled looking more unwell and Dr Arbor gradually stopped breathing altogether.

His heart stopped for a short moment before his body started to move once again.

The teeth he had gritted when he was transforming and felt any discomfort had begun to subtly change once he gritted them again showing them off to Blush who was observing from the opposite side of the table.

Sharp pointed fangs appeared in his mouth and once his eyes snapped open, his previous eye colour had changed to a green colour.

His ears had become pointed further adding to his new appearance after transforming.

Dr Arbor started to inspect his new appearance. "This.. what have I become? How is this saving me?"

Blush went on to explain. "This is my latest success. The only true way to overcome old age and death in your current state was either a great miracle or.. to die and become something between life and death."

Dr Arbor felt his fangs and was shocked. "This.. is a very strange path you have taken. Are you certain you have not just turned me into some kind of monster? There must be consequences for this."

Blush shook her head. "You see.. first I used the undead Vampires as the foundation to save you. They life such long lives never aging but there is a major problem related to their appetite for blood.

The first problem was to safely deal with such a problem and apply an alternative method of feeding. In order to overcome such a problem, I had to look more towards different routes until I found one suitable.

You are a doctor and deal with all kinds of poisons and venoms in your career. When considering such a thing, it made it quite easy to decide which path to take. Using different applications of other genes from poisonous creatures, I was able to alter the vampire physique and diet."

What Blush meant was that the genes combined with the Vampire genetics were primarily the most compatible ones that allowed for resistances and manipulation to poisons while adding in areas that substituted the need for blood as a source of food.

Various poisons and venoms would be more than enough to provide his body what it needed while there would be several other bonus perks involved that would help towards his future survival and development.

Seeing Dr Arbor lost in thought as he was coming to terms with his new state, Blush continued. "Just like blood sustains vampires, you just need to keep up a regular intake of poison or venoms of any kind.

There is an additional perk hidden within your fangs that has been added which will prove very useful in the future. You can use your fangs to inject or extract poison from those bitten so it can be applied in various ways."

If he bit someone then he could inject them with poison so it would prove to be something that was very useful in protecting himself.

An added perk was that he could target the poison in others bodies and could extract it from them helping to remove whatever traces were in them.

It was the perfect ability to have for a doctor and was of excellent use when someone was poisoned with something very dangerous.

Dr Arbor could provide treatment by drinking the poison from their bodies while he would gain what was needed to sustain himself.

As much as Blush wished to save Dr Arbor, there was a limit to how far he would go to remain alive.

There was no way he would accept living on at the expense of taking blood from others and possibly even taking lives.

It was one of the main reasons why Blush had continued to hurry with such an experiment and worked so hard.

The answer that she arrived at was something Dr Arbor could live with and come to terms with while providing him a new way to treat and help others.

As someone who had suffered from such powerful and potent effects to his body from something so volatile, he did not wish for others to have to suffer a similar fate.

Dr Arbor sat back in his chair and sighed. "So this is your answer huh.."

Blush nodded with a slightly tired look on her face. "Even with magic and other methods.. this is about the best I could achieve with the current resources I have available."

In her opinion, it was still very far from perfect and there were so many things on Earth that could have helped her in doing better but there was just not enough time to achieve it and collect them.

Dr Arbor smiled showing off his fangs. "It is fine. Living like this should not be too much of a problem with what you have provided."

His main concern was his current appearance but the shapeshifting spell within the jewellery had helped to cover that up.

He was already used to covering up his appearance so it was not something he would struggle with in the future.
