11 Chapter 11 “Playing with my mind?”
Yin Ivy Lee's POV
He asked me for a date but he wasn't talking at all!! So, I initiated…
"Are you not in good terms with your brother?" I asked
"Honestly… Yes…"
Should I ask why? or am I crossing the line if I ask him about it?
"He stole my first girlfriend…" I was surprised when he opened up without me asking for it… More surprised that his brother has done that to him!!
"Since then I never talked to him…"
"I'm sorry I shouldn't have asked…"
"It's fine… I think it's better that you know, my family told me to never come back and seek help after my Ex ran away with my money."
I heard about this one…
"That money was a huge sum. Most of it, I borrowed from the company, I entrusted it to her because we both planned to put up a hotel… 400 Million… she took all of it! My mother told me not to trust her but I didn't listen and fought for her instead. My mother was to take the money back so I decided to run with her and build our own and prove them wrong. I didn't expect she'd run away with the money."

The food was served after a heavy talk…

I went to the rest room and fixed my make-up. Someone from the cubicle went out and looked at herself in the mirror. I happened to look at her face before she left.
Should I call police? It's the first thing I thought after I saw her…
I went out after a couple of minutes after the girl came out of the restroom.

I watched them from a corner. Since this restaurant has few customers today. I can hear what they were talking.

"She's probably just some cheap girl around!!" wait!! I'm really gonna slap her!! Just kidding! I don't go down to a low life's level… My presence is a slap on its own.
I went to the table and looked down on her as she was sitting on my chair…
"Ivy…" Yuan was surprised I came out of nowhere…
"Is she the girl?!" she looked at me from head to toe… Fine judge me…
"Hi! I'm Yin Ivy Lee Chairwoman and CEO of Lotus Group of companies, and I'm not just 'Some Cheap Girl Around'" I quoted telling on her face that I heard everything.
"You can't be a chairwoman you're young! You're just faking it!!! Yuan you actually believe her?"
"Hahaha! Thanks for telling me that I look young, but I am indeed what I said I am. Anyway, who are you?! why are you sitting on someone's chair? Will you please remove yourself!" I said
"I'm Florence Young…"
"Ahhhh… the money thief…" yes! I'm definitely on the mood to insult her!!

"Ivy…"
"If you want her in the jail and press a charge, I can do it for you…"

She held the glass of water and tried to throw it to me, but Yuan stopped her.
"Florence leave now and better not to appear in front of me again!!"
"Hmppp!!" she walked out…
"Are you okay? I'm really sorry you have to witness that…" he said
"I'm fine… You should have just called the police and have her arrested."
"I can't…" I looked at him and it seems like he's not over her… it somehow pained me and I think I hate the idea that he's not completely over with her…
"I see… You still like her?" I said
"N-no… it's not that…"
"Then why?"
"Maybe I should just forgive her, putting her into jail won't bring my money back anyway…"
Is that the only reason?
"Fine, let's just leave…" am I jealous? Probably not… I liked him before, but that's over… right?
I stood up and walked away… My night is ruined…
"Ivy wait…" he grabbed my wrist
"Wait… Are you mad at me?"
"Honestly? I'm very disappointed…"
He looked at me with a wondering face…
"I don't get why you wouldn't press a charge against her, bring your money back? Of course! that won't happen but teaching her a lesson so she won't do it again is all I can see that is acceptable in your situation… but anyway it's your decision and I'm out of it…"
I'm really in a bad mood now… so I hailed a taxi instead of riding with him…

"I'll just see you at the office tomorrow…"
I rode the taxi and went home…
"Miss Ivy, where's your car?"
"Lady Min… Tell the driver to get my car at the office."

I went upstairs into my room and took a warm bath…

"When I was in Seoul… Yuan talked to me…"

"Dear, I saw how he looked at you at your wedding. It was different."
"hmmm…" I sipped a wine and nodded…
"Why? You don't like him?"

"We had dinner, then we saw his ex-girlfriend. You know the story, she flew with his money, I proposed that he should push through in filing a case and that I'll do it for him, he said he won't… Maybe he still feels something for her."
"Are you worrying about that?"

"About what happened five years ago?" she continued

Morning came and I went to the office…
He used to wait with flowers here at the lobby. Well after last night. What would I expect?

"What's with that look on your face?"

"You didn't get enough sleep last night?"
"Umm..." I nodded
"What's wrong?"
"I was just thinking that I'll be stressed again after a week."
"Why?"
"I'll be dealing with the company again… because you'll run your own starting next week! Hahahaha! I'll miss being stress free…"
"Hahahaha! I'll promise to visit you from time to time so you'll forget your problems…"
"Well how would that ease my stress and problems?"
"You'll get to see my handsome face and then you'll forget everything!!"

He kept on bugging me until we reached my office. Maybe I should cherish my time being free, because next week I'll be back with my daily life…
"I'll be grabbing some coffee do you want something?" I asked Yang
"I want some red velvet cake…"
"Okay I'll be back…"
I went to a nearby coffee shop. Since it's break time in the company, there are a lot of customers. But something particular caught my eyes…
"Yuan?" I uttered in a low voice…
See? How could I trust him when he meets his ex-even after last night? It was a lie… What he told me back in Seoul wasn't what he truly feels, maybe he just wants to get over his Ex so he fools around with me, he thinks because I'm starting to be friendly with him, he can play around with my thoughts… It's really hard to trust people…
"Miss Ivy??"
"Excuse me Miss Ivy…"
"Ahhh yes?"
"May I take your order?"
"Right, I'll have the Red velvet cake and one Frappuccino."
"Okay Miss Ivy please wait for your order…"
I waited on the side and then I found myself looking at his direction…
"Miss Ivy!! Your order's ready!!" when the waitress yelled out my name he turned around and saw me looking at them. I quickly walked towards the counter and took my order and went out of the café.
"Ivy… Ivy!! Wait!" I won't turn to your call…
"Yin Ivy Lee!!" when he yelled out my name…
"Aren't you calling your boss too much casual?"
"I'm sorry, whatever you saw wasn't what you think it was…"
"I'm not asking for explanations." Am I really not?
"Yuan, you can do whatever you like, but playing with people's thoughts is what I hate the most…"
"I don't get what you mean…"
"Really?" I turned around
"Ivy…" he grabbed my wrist
"I don't like a cold coffee, so let go of me before I lose my cool."
He let go of my wrist…
I went back to the office.
"Hey what took you so long?"
"Just had some problem with my orders…"
"Your brows are connecting… Hey stop frowning! let's go to the pantry I'll make my own coffee"
"you should've just ordered some coffee instead of making one…"
"Eyy I make coffee better than others… so tell me what made you so grumpy?"
"Agh! Just go eat your cake Yang…"
He grabbed a fork and took a piece
"Ahhhh!!" he's telling me to open my mouth… Urgh!! Annoying!!
"Ahhhh!! Relieve your stress Yin, whatever is it that made you grumpy…"
I opened my mouth and he fed me the piece on his fork…
"It's good right?"
"Not bad…"
Yang really knows how to make me feel better…
The whole week working with Yuan was heavy, it was awkward as I have been keeping silent and keeping my words short whenever he asks me something. He gives me flower whenever I come to the office, but I always tell him to just put it on a vase and put it on the office.
"I really loved working in your company Yin…"
"You learned fast that's why you enjoyed it. See? I told you, you'll learn to love running the company soon…"
"You're right…"
"Ahhhh! I have to work like I used to before, you'll be a very good business colleague and as well as a competitor… Hahahaha!!"

He came near me and put his hands on my face to squish it

Yang's finally taking over their company. He'll be formally inaugurated as the Chairman of Golden Dragons.
Because of the inauguration we also fixed the backlash we both received after our wedding got cancelled. The real reason wasn't made known to the public. We just released a statement that we were not yet ready to settle and face the responsibilities of building a family. The people didn't believe and created some speculations. Some said we got into a huge fight and it involved the companies, some said we just did all of that as a form of promotional tactics.
But after his inauguration, most media outlets were there and we granted them some photos and a short interview.

Honestly, I've been keeping a distance from him. Just gathering my thoughts because he confuses me with his actions. He gives me flower every day and asks me to have a meal together, But I can't remove the thought instilled in my mind that he might just be using me to get over with his ex.
"I'm fine, I still have a lot to do…"

I just stared at him with a fierce gaze.
"Please?"
I can't stand this anymore!
"Yuan, you're stirring up my mind!"
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"One day you'll tell me that you like me and then one day you'll meet with your Ex. Are you trying to play with my thoughts?"
"Meet with my Ex?"
I rolled my eyes on him…
"Ahhh!! That day!! I met with her because she wants to apologize about the night when we saw her and when she caused a mess… I didn't meet her, so we could get back together! I just couldn't explain to you because you were upset…"
I don't know but I felt good when he said that

He filed a lawsuit? But if he still loves her…

I continued working until he came back… He indeed bought something for me.
"I don't know what you would like so I just bought a bento from the restaurant where we ate last time."

"Because you seem to be distancing yourself from me…"

He stood there looking at me.

I don't know if this decision is right, but like Lady Min said, if I open my heart, I'll probably heal…
After working for several hours, I looked at my window and saw that the sun has finally set.

I went inside the house and found Yang sitting on the couch with a glass of wine…
"You weren't answering my calls so I decided to come here. Was that Yuan? By the way I touched one of your wines"
"Ahhh yes… I ran out of battery…"
"Yiiieee! Are you dating him?"
"Ah not yet!"
"NOT YET?! Hahahaha!! So, there's a possibility?!? Oh My God Yin!! Well, he seems a fine man…"
"But you know our story…"
"Yin, it's time to let go of that memory, it won't take you anywhere… It's better to open up your heart. Be happy…"
"I…I am Ha-ppy…"

After a good in depth talk with Yang, I realized he has a point…
"hmm!! he really does have a point" I murmured as I finished a glass of wine…
I opened my eyes and the usual I always have a headache from drinking wine, I was never a heavy drinker but wine helps me sleep so I drink even though I get a headache the moment I wake up…
I turned around to look at my bedside clock… It's 9 am. I stood up and went outside so I can have a breakfast…
"Good morning Ivy…" someone greeted me as I made my way down the stairs
"Good mo--- OH MY GOD!! What the hell are you doing here?!!" I turned around to fix my hair while looking at my reflection on a vase…
"Just want to hang out with you today…"
"Since when were you here?"
"hmmm… around 8 am?"
"That early?!"
"hahahaha!! Yeah…"
"Dear!! Finally!! Yuan has been here since 7 am he was waiting for you but I told him you were still sleeping and that you don't like to be bothered so he just waited…"
"I thought you were here around 8…"

After having some breakfast, I went upstairs to take a bath and wore some casual clothes, just a shirt and shorts, that's what I usually wear when I'm home, no make-up.

"These are all my gaming gadgets… Let's play…"

He was busy setting up the things he brought as I sit there watching him standing back and forth

He taught me everything I should know and we began playing games, there were car race, a duel, and a lot more. I was thrilled with the virtual reality thing…
"I didn't expect that you'd be this good!!"
"I'm quite nimble… Maybe I should buy this kind of stuffs it's fun…"

I haven't felt this excitement for a while… I feel like a child having a playmate invited over at my house.
After lunch, we went to my show room… This room contains a lot of my collections, bows, arrows, and etc.
"Waaaah! Are these your collections?"

"These two are my commonly used bows and arrows, I brought them from England and Japan…" I continued…

I breathed deeply and focused
"Ahhh!! This is unfair!! You're still good with your left hand!!"
"Nooo! It's my first time shooting with my left hand"

We continued playing until we completed the set…

After seeing Yuan leave… I really felt tired, we spent the whole day doing stuffs around the villa, I went upstairs and just threw my body to my bed and went to sleep…
We got to know each other more in the following days as we often hang out and have some friendly dates. I realized, he was sweet and caring, very different from how we first met.
"Good morning Ivy" he said, as he gave a bouquet of flower, like he usually did.
"Thanks…"
"I had your arrows customized two weeks ago but they said I can pick it up by next week, because some shipments were delayed"
"Really?! That's nice…"
"Miss Ivy…"
I turned around…
"Clair!! You're back!!"
"Yes Miss, finally!! Good morning sir Yuan…"
"Good morning Miss Clair…"
"Miss Ivy thank you for everything!! My father is recovering well… he had an operation and a chemo therapy."
"I'm glad he's doing fine… So, are you back for good?"
"Yes Miss…"
"That's nice…"
With my secretary back it will be lighter for Yuan, because he won't have to do the things a secretary would do, he can just focus with his original work.

"Ivy…"
"Yes?" I said while looking at my computer monitor while I do some work…
"Are you busy?"
"Well… you want to say something?"
"I'm happy that Miss Clair's father is well, but I'm not happy that she's back? Am I bad?"
He sounded like a child
"What? Why?"
"I won't have that much reason to come in your office, unlike when I was your secretary…"
"I thought you didn't like being my secretary?"

"Should I just fire her then?" I chuckled

"Just Kidding!! Of course! I won't!"

He became silent…
"Do you want to grab some dinner tonight?"
"Sure, but can we go to your favorite place? I like it there…" I said

"Yeah, I miss seeing the city lights from up there…"
Right after work we went for dinner.
"I thought you never wanted to come back here…"
"This place is really good!! With all the ambiance and the great food? It's really impossible to never come back here…"
"Hmmm" he smiled and looked at the city lights

"It doesn't look nothing…"
"Ivy, have you ever thought what would've happen to us now if all the things, the events five years ago didn't happen?"
It has never crossed my mind until now. What could've happened to us if we didn't have a twisted fate?
"You'll probably just ignore me… hahahaha!" did I laughed too awkwardly? I didn't want our conversation to be heavy so I answered him in a fun way…
"Ha! If only we had the same department and I've known you sooner in college, maybe things would have worked quite well between us." He said

"How can you tell?" I asked
