CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE

Wow, I can really see the resemblance now.

I snickered to myself for a moment forgetting to read the room.

"Is this some fucking joke to you boy?" The man walking around the table to get to me, Jason was already between the two of us before I even took a step.

"This ones all Chloe's I'm only here for support." I say serious. "However I am going to point out is that I can see the resemblances, yet the three of you never actually lived together, I guess this is a 'Nature vs. Nurture' thing."

"I want a DNA test." Mr. Bayleigh whispered venom.

"Okay that's fine where do we get one?" Chloe asked her hands in her pockets as Mrs. Bayleigh pokes and prods her trying to see what's what.

Chloe's P.O.V

Mr. Bayleigh, A.K.A possibly my 'Dad' stared at me in shock as if he didn't think I'd go along with it so nonchalantly.

"You're serious?" He questioned while staring into my eyes.

"Dead serious," I added, with a nod.

There was a silence in the room as he pondered actually taking this seriously, finally he gave a long sigh and closed his eyes as rubbed his eyes with a thumb and pinkie finger.

"Okay fine, we aren't telling Katie, I don't want her getting overexcited." Mr. Bayleigh says shaking his head.

"Don't tell me what?" Kate stood in the doorway with her arms in her hoodie pocket, she was wearing a light pink one this time.

More silence, this time more awkward, we all thought of excuses.

"-About Col-" I got caught off.

"That I'm gay," Jason said overly loud.

We all stood there jaws agaped, his parents speechless.

"I already knew that though," Kate said, leaning on the doorway now.

Mrs. Bayleigh looked as if her world turned upside down.

"I need to sit down," she says while back tracking to her dining room chair.

"How could you have,-" Jason trailed off.

"I seen you and that guy sneaking around, it wasn't hard to figure that out." She says rolling her eyes.

Jason's face slowly turned a deep shade of pink and he looked away from all of us.

"Well know we all know," I say as I looked at Colby.

"I think it's time to, uh, head home, Hayley was pretty smashed when she got home," I say trying to change the subject.

"Oh, yeah okay well it was a very shocking conversation for all of us, let's just call it a day," Mr. Bayleigh agreed trying to put an end to the great events taken place.

Colby cleared his throat and nodded a smile plastered on his face as if he was actually more relieved, maybe to leave?

He placed a hand on the small of my back as the other held out to shake Mr. Bayleigh's hand.

"Well it was nice meeting you sir." Colby gives him a cheeky grin.

"Ah, yes you too," Mr. Bayleigh nods shaking his hand.

We turned and left it at that going back out to the car.

Jason followed us out to the car, once we were out of ears reach I turned around to face Jason.

"Was all that true, are you actually gay?" I asked gently.

He looked upset, and tears slowly filled his eyes he clenched his teeth together and nodded.

I walked up to him and wrapped my arms around him, or as much as I could with my big belly in the way.

"Hey, it's okay," I reassured lightly, he began to shake as sobs slowly ripped out of his throat, he held onto me and placed his head on my shoulder.

I could feel his fear radiating off of him, you could tell he was holding it in for a long time.

We stood there for a while until his sobs turned into quiet hiccups.

"I'm scared to go back in there," he whispered in my ear, I looked at him in confusion.

"Dad might actually kill me this time," he whispers again as he sniffled.

"Why would he do that?" I asked just as quiet.

"He's a severe homophobe," he says as he slowly let's me go.

"He's okay with Hayley, isn't he?" He quickly shook his head no.

"Dad doesn't know about Hayley. She doesn't want him to because she know's what he's like," he says standing a foot away now.

I looked around trying to figure out what the best way to go about this.

"Do you have your phone?" I questioned him, he nods and takes it out to show me.

"Keep it on you and if anything happens you either call or text me, okay?" I looked him in the eye to make sure he know I'm serious.

"Yes but,-" he trailed off with a guilty look on his face.

"-But what?" I encouraged him to continue.

"The guy I was 'sneaking off with' is Jasper, hes been staying in the garage if dad finds him we are both dead." He says, getting panicky again.

"Woah, woah, woah, as in my brother, that Jasper?" Colby asked, he was more shocked finding out his brother was gay then he was with Jason, makes sense I guess.

"Yes, that Jasper," Jason repeated more in defeat than happiness.

He smirked to himself a bit amused. "Hes acting off again," I thought to myself before disregarding it for now.

"I'll give him some money for a hotel for now, in the meantime you stay safe." I say while taking out my wallet.

"Weren't you saving up for your tattoo?" He says as I passed him two hundred dollars, he took it from me slowly.

"Yeah quickly found out you cant get a tattoo while pregnant so that's out of the question for now, besides you need it more than I do right now," he placed it in his pocket and gave me a big hug.

"I really appreciate it, truly." Jason explained with mass of gratitude.

He went to leave and we headed back to the car but before he was fully out of site Colby called out into the now dusk surroundings.

"Do you love him?" Colby pondered, in a more genuine sense.

"You know, I think I do." Jason sounded like he fully came to a sense of peace with it for now, as he disappeared into the big shed.

We both got into the car and Colby started the ignition, with a shake of his head and a weird smirk he swallowed hard, as the wheels crunched against the gravel road we were off to pick up dinner.

"Am I still in a coma?" He asked sitting up in the driver's seat his hands gripped a bit tighter on the steering wheel.

"Why would you even ask that?" I replied, I sounded more harsh then intended.

"None of this makes any sense," he began with a sigh.

"What doesn't make any sense?" My eyebrows knitted in confusion.

"All of it, and none of it! You're pregnant, Lucey's dead, and somehow you got away from my shit family with no living skills and survived, on top of all else I just found out by Jason that Jasper, my brother is gay! My brother who used to go out and beat the shit out of the gays for fun. So yeah nothing about any of this makes sense." He ranted shaking his head, while keeping his eyes on the road.

Shocked, I searched for words, but I had none, he had just made me completely speechless. I stayed quiet.
