Chapter 18: Twin Sisters, Martial Soul Fusion Skill

At the Freshman Assessment Area.

"Huo Yuhao, Wang Dong, you two don't look so good," Xiao Xiao remarked, noticing their haggard appearances. One looked extremely worn out, while the other had two big dark circles under their eyes. What on earth had they been up to last night?

Huo Yuhao sighed and put on a world-weary expression. "Xiao Xiao, you're still young. You'll understand when you get older."

I even took off my pants, but she ran away. It's both physically and emotionally draining.

"Ask this scoundrel what good deed he did last night," Wang Dong glared at Huo Yuhao, gritting her teeth.

"No way! You two didn't...?" Xiao Xiao gasped, covering her mouth in shock, her face filled with disbelief.

Could it be that they finally took that step? Last night's battle must have been intense.

Huo Yuhao's face turned dark at Wang Dong's misleading words. Unable to hold back, he smacked Wang Dong on the head. "Don't say such things."

"Who's lying? You jerk," Wang Dong covered her head in pain, glaring at Huo Yuhao.

She had just taken a shower, and her bed had been thrown to block the door. The dormitory door had mysteriously disappeared, leaving them needing something to block the entrance. So Wang Dong had no bed to sleep in.

With only one person in the dormitory, it had to be Huo Yuhao. Wang Dong had kicked Huo Yuhao out of her bed and claimed it for herself.

"You threw my bed away, so your bed is mine."

But Wang Dong underestimated Huo Yuhao's shamelessness. The guy had no bottom line. In the middle of the night, Huo Yuhao climbed back into bed and hugged Wang Dong. This led to another bout of fighting, leaving them both sleepless.

"The match is about to start. Let bygones be bygones," Huo Yuhao said, coughing and trying to change the subject. He feared that Wang Dong would pick another fight.

"You scoundrel!!!" Wang Dong was furious. That happened just last night, and he was being so shameless.

"Wang Dong, let's settle this later. For now, let's focus on the match," Xiao Xiao intervened, trying to smooth things over. Their team had the best performance so far, and their next opponents would only get stronger. They couldn't afford to lose because of internal conflicts.

"Right, Wang Dong. We'll deal with this after the match. Let's focus now," Xiao Xiao repeated, addressing both Wang Dong and Huo Yuhao.

"Fine, but you'll get what's coming to you," Wang Dong calmed herself. She hadn't slept well, and coupled with the irritation from a certain scoundrel, she wasn't in the best state.

"Huo Yuhao's team will face Huang Chutian's team," Wang Yan announced, giving Huo Yuhao a meaningful look. This opponent had a big ace up their sleeve. He wanted to see if Huo Yuhao, as the team leader, would step up and show his true strength.

"Let's go!" Huo Yuhao rolled his eyes at Wang Yan, noticing the guy had been watching him closely these past few days. Could he be interested in him? The thought gave Huo Yuhao goosebumps.

As Huo Yuhao's team entered the arena, their opponents stepped up as well.

"Twins!" Xiao Xiao exclaimed, noticing the two identical girls in the opposing team.

"Quite the pair," Huo Yuhao remarked, looking at the twin girls. They had beautiful dyed hair and delicate faces. While not exceptionally pretty, they were pleasing to the eye. Twins were inherently a bonus.

"Scumbag," Wang Dong muttered, recognizing Huo Yuhao's familiar expression and knowing he was thinking inappropriate thoughts.

"Yuhao, I have a question," Wang Dong suddenly said, a thought crossing her mind.

"What is it?" Huo Yuhao, pulled back to reality, looked at Wang Dong curiously.

"If you were to marry twin sisters in the future, how would you tell them apart?"

"That's a good question," Huo Yuhao paused, then laughed. If he really married twin sisters, he might live in constant turmoil, unable to distinguish between them. That would be a death wish!

"Why are you laughing?" Wang Dong asked, seeing Huo Yuhao's reaction. She felt embarrassed for him.

"Nothing, I just found the question interesting. If I ever did marry twin sisters, I'd put a red envelope with a name tag inside by the bed. Whoever draws it, that's who it is," Huo Yuhao said with a grin.

Wang Dong was speechless. Although the method was feasible, she felt an urge to punch him.

"Actually, there's no need for that. Why would I need to tell them apart?" Huo Yuhao continued. For such questions, having no answer was the best answer, especially since he didn't even have a wife yet.

"You..." Wang Dong was too angry to speak. This scoundrel was getting more shameless by the day. Who would dare marry him?

"Six!" Xiao Xiao's worldview was shattered by Huo Yuhao's scumbag comments, leaving her speechless.

"Pleased to meet you," Huang Chutian greeted with a bow.

"Likewise," Huo Yuhao responded humbly.

"Let's not stand around. The match has started," the referee's voice brought everyone back to reality, and they prepared for battle.

Huang Chutian was the team leader, with the twin sisters clearly not being strong attack-type spirit masters.

"Come at me!" Huang Chutian roared, pounding his chest. His martial soul activated, causing his upper body clothes to tear, muscles to swell, and skin to turn black. Two yellow soul rings appeared at his feet.

The twin sisters, Lan Susu and Lan Luoluo, also activated their martial souls. Their blue hair flew and grew rapidly, with two yellow soul rings each.

"Like us, they're at level 20, but they aren't their area's top team," Xiao Xiao noted, frowning. Given the rules, the top team wouldn't face another top team until later rounds. How strong was the first-place team in their area?

"It seems this opponent won't be easy. But that makes it more interesting," Wang Dong said, her fighting spirit igniting as she released her martial soul. The vibrant wings of the Bright Goddess Butterfly spread out, lifting her into the air and drawing everyone's attention.

Lan Susu and Lan Luoluo were captivated, unable to look away. Wang Dong was handsome, and now she looked even more stunning.

"Showy," Huang Chutian snarled, leaping with his pillar-like arms towards Wang Dong, shaking the stage.

Wang Dong, proud and confident, met him head-on with her wings.

Boom!

"Such strength!" Wang Dong's face changed as she was knocked from the air, sliding back several steps upon landing.

Huang Chutian landed, grinning savagely, and charged at Wang Dong again.

Clang!

A large cauldron flew in front of Wang Dong, blocking Huang Chutian's attack.

"Don't be reckless," Xiao Xiao said, annoyed that Wang Dong had chosen to clash head-on with a strength-type martial soul.

"I was just testing his strength. This guy's martial soul is a Herculean Ape. It's not only thick-skinned but incredibly strong," Wang Dong said, flying back up and activating her first soul skill. Golden blades of light formed along her wings.

"Let's go again," Wang Dong dived towards Huang Chutian, slashing down with the light blades.

"Ha!" Huang Chutian roared, headbutting Xiao Xiao's Three Lives Soul Calming Cauldron aside.

"You won't succeed!" Lan Susu and Lan Luoluo attacked simultaneously, their blue hair shooting out like webs, enveloping Wang Dong and tightening around her.

"Just some hair? I'll cut it all off," Wang Dong sneered, slashing at the blue hair with her light blades. Despite the soul power enhancement, hair was still hair and couldn't withstand the blades. She cut a large hole and escaped.

"First Soul Skill, Mighty King Kong Fist," Huang Chutian roared, using his first soul skill. His fists doubled in size, and he punched Xiao Xiao's cauldron away.

"Big guy, I'm your opponent," Wang Dong flew at Huang Chutian instead of the twin sisters.

"Get out of my way!" Huang Chutian, frustrated, turned and punched.

Boom!

Sparks flew as the golden blades clashed with the fists.

"Challenging me head-on is your biggest mistake," Huang Chutian growled, increasing the force in his arms.

"Don't be so arrogant," Wang Dong said confidently, not intending to lose.

"Second Soul Skill, Hair Spikes," the twin sisters activated their second soul skill, targeting not Wang Dong or Xiao Xiao but Huo Yuhao, who had been watching.

They sensed that Huo Yuhao was the real threat.

"Despicable," Xiao Xiao shouted angrily. The twin sisters clearly underestimated Huo Yuhao, assuming he was useless. Though Wang Dong claimed Huo Yuhao was strong, she had never seen him in action and was worried.

"Attacking me for watching? Fine," Huo Yuhao frowned, surprised they targeted him.

"Considering you're twins, I'll let you off lightly. But you'll need to be punished," Huo Yuhao's eyes turned golden. He was itching for a fight.

"His martial soul must be his eyes," Wang Yan noticed Huo Yuhao's eyes and watched closely.

"Judgment," Huo Yuhao condensed the holy light into a sword, slicing through the hair spikes.

"What kind of sword is that?" Wang Yan was thoroughly confused. If Huo Yuhao's martial soul was his eyes, it should be a spiritual-type martial soul, yet here he was manifesting a physical weapon.

"Sister, let's use our ultimate move," Lan Luoluo suggested, seeing their second soul skill easily countered.

"Agreed!" Lan Susu nodded. The two sisters embraced each other tightly.

"Martial Soul Fusion Skill: Heaven and Earth Net."

A tremendous amount of soul power erupted from the two, their hair turning crystalline and undergoing a qualitative transformation as it flew towards their opponents.

"Martial Soul Fusion Skill!" Wang Dong and Xiao Xiao exclaimed in unison. They hadn't expected the twins to have such a powerful hidden technique.

"First Soul Skill: Cauldron Tremor." Xiao Xiao quickly activated her martial soul, using her cauldron to block the encroaching hair.

"Enough playing around," Wang Dong decided, abandoning his fight with Huang Chutian and charging towards the twin sisters.

"Let's cut through this." As the blue hair surrounded him, Wang Dong sneered. It was more numerous than before, but still hair. His wing blades would easily slice through it.

But he miscalculated. The blades struck the hair but didn't cut through; instead, the hair showed incredible elasticity and toughness.

Xiao Xiao was also struggling, her cauldron unable to break free from the encompassing hair.

"Second Soul Skill: Force Cannon Hammer." Huang Chutian saw an opportunity, rushing forward and striking Xiao Xiao's cauldron aside with a powerful blow.

"Light of Justice." A dazzling beam of golden light shot towards the twin sisters, piercing through the hair net without resistance.

"What!" The twin sisters were caught off guard, unable to dodge the beam.

"Ah!" They screamed in pain as the beam hit them, forcing them apart and breaking their fusion skill.

"Now's our chance!" The hair around Wang Dong loosened immediately, and he charged at the twins.

He quickly reached them, his wing blades poised. "Sorry about this," he thought to himself.

With a flash of gold, two bundles of blue hair fell to the ground.
