Chapter 48 Moon Pavilion

Time skip - 2 Years

In the magnificent building, a man was sitting on a bench in the garden. His long, golden hair reached his back, and his face, despite bearing some scars, held a special charm.

A woman approached the man as he sat with his head turned toward the sky. Sensing her presence, the man stood up.

"Teacher Yuehua," he said, looking at the woman.

She was a beautiful woman with bluish hair, exuding a noble aura that reminded one of Bibi Dong.

"No need for formalities," she replied, taking a seat beside the man.

"So today is your last day, Yu Hun?" she asked, her voice soft.

"Yes," he affirmed.

She gazed up at the stars, her eyes fixed on the twinkling night sky.

"Hmm, look how beautiful the stars are," she mused.

Yu Hun couldn't see the stars, but he sensed their beauty. He replied with a sense of wonder in his voice, "Indeed, they are."

As they both gazed at the stars, a silence settled over them. In that moment, Teacher Yuehua felt something she hadn't expected—a connection, a warmth, a spark of attraction to the man beside her.

she stood up and " ok i will take my leave "

after she left "did i say somthing wrong ?"

Afterward, he left the gathering and went to his room, closing the door behind him. His hair, once golden, turned black, and his face changed as if he had taken off a mask.

He plopped down on his bed, clearly tired, "Keeping up this skill is quite a hassle."

In the two years since his victory in the contest, Hun Yu hadn't done much. He was mysteriously sent back home after winning, and it seemed like some God of archer did it, calling out god, but there was no response.

The next day, he was surprised to find that his spirit power had increased to 50, and there was a floating ring nearby. It seemed like a reward for passing the second test.

He managed to locate his master, his master was in his village he visited him and he suggested him to go moon pavilion to improve his control.

That's how he ended up here, with a new name, Yu Hun. And why the disguise? Well, it's simple—to avoid getting into trouble and to stay safe.

Also His fifth ability is "Holy Disguise," which allows him to conceal his appearance completely. Only title Douluo have a chance to see through it if they examine him carefully.

However, this power has its drawbacks. It drains his mental energy and can only be maintained for 4-5 hours at most.

 ...

Knock, knock.

Hun Yu woke abruptly, roused from slumber by a persistent knocking at his door. Still grappling with the remnants of sleep inertia, he clumsily rose from his bed and shuffled towards the door, eventually managing to open it.

"Huh, Teacher YueHua?" he mumbled as he recognized the visitor, gradually regaining his senses.

Tang Yuehua peered at Hun Yu with curiosity. "Who are you? Are you Yu Hun's friend?" she inquired, studying him closely.

Hun Yu, somewhat puzzled, instinctively touched his own face, his expression shifting from drowsiness to full alertness.

He abruptly grabbed Tang Yuehua's hand and pulled her into the room, quickly closing the door behind her. The sudden turn of events left Tang Yuehua momentarily stunned, as everything had unfolded so rapidly. She hadn't even had time to react, being only a level 9 spirit master, while Hun Yu was a formidable level 57 spirit master. Before her, he appeared as a defenseless prey.

Hun Yu swiftly tied her to a chair, securing a cloth over her mouth to stifle any potential screams. He then began packing his belongings, knowing that his cover was blown and he needed to leave.

Just as he was about to exit, he sensed Tang Yuehua attempting to communicate, though her mouth remained obstructed by the cloth, resulting in only muffled sounds.

Out of curiosity, Hun Yu approached her and removed the cloth.

Tang Yuehua looked at him and said, "Wait! You don't have to leave. I won't tell anyone about you."

Hun Yu was dumbfounded upon hearing this. "Do you even know who I am, Teacher Yuehua?"

"Hmm, Hun Yu, right?"

With a stoic expression, Hun Yu denied it. "No, not me," he replied, awaiting her reaction.

"Don't lie to me. I've seen your wanted poster, and you look exactly the same," she countered in her defense.

Hun Yu, now sitting on the bed, had no words to defend himself, as his true identity had been revealed.

"Then, Teacher Yuehua, did you know about me all this time?"

Hearing this, Yuehua responded with a straightforward demeanor, neither arrogant nor overly humble. "Of course, anyone with a good IQ could find out."

"How? My disguise is pretty convincing."

"Hmm, your name," she explained.

"My name?"

"Yes, your name. After you adopted your disguise, your name became Yu Hun, but your original name is Hun Yu. You simply reversed the name, and the name Hun Yu isn't very common, so I just had my suspicions."

Hun Yu on the bed simply uttered, "Oh."

Silence descended upon the room.

"Um, can you untie this rope?" Tang Yuehua asked, glancing at the tightly secured bindings.

Hun Yu replied bluntly, "No."

"But it's hurting me," she protested, her gaze fixed on her hands, which displayed small, reddened marks from the rope.

Hun Yu knelt down and gently inspected her hands. "It seems I tied it too tightly."

"Can you please untie this rope? I promise I won't tell anyone about you."

"Why should I trust you?"

Tang Yuehua fell silent, contemplating the question. Indeed, why should he trust her? They hadn't had much contact in the two years since she started teaching Hun Yu, and their interactions had only begun a few months earlier.

The ropes eventually fell to the ground. "Okay, I trust you this time, Teacher Yuehua," Hun Yu conceded.

Tang Yuehua was taken aback by this sudden change of heart. "But why..."

After some time spent together in Hun Yu's room, she suggested, "Since it's your last day, why don't you join in the Event today?" Hun Yu didn't appear particularly excited about the idea, but to avoid embarrassing Teacher Yuehua, he agreed.

"Okay, let's go," she said, ready to move, but Hun Yu remained still. He released his fifth spirit ring, and his appearance underwent a complete transformation from before.

Tang Yuehua observed all of this while standing still. Although she aspired to cultivate to higher levels, her destiny was less fortunate. Her martial spirit was mutated, preventing her from advancing beyond level 9.

"Alright, let's go," Hun Yu said to Tang Yuehua, prompting them to head towards the event area.

"So many people," Hun Yu widened his senses, estimating that there were around 300-400 people present.

"Of course, it's the Moonlight Pavilion's event held every three years," replied Yuehua.

"Hey, look, it's the Master of the Moonlight Pavilion."

"Yes, it's her."

"Who is the boy with her?"

"Look, she is talking with that boy."

As the chatter among the people continued, some couldn't help but feel jealous of Hun Yu.

...

"Here, it's our seats," they sat down, and the event began.

Many individuals came forward to showcase their skills, not in combat but in art, music, and more.

Hun Yu, seated beside Tang Yuehua, grew bored and sleepy. Yuehua noticed and asked, "Are you bored?"

Nodding, he replied, "Maybe you can go and try to perform yourself."

Pointing at himself, Hun Yu said, "Me? I don't even know what to do there." Hearing this, Tang Yuehua smiled and said, "Don't worry, just go," as she pushed Hun Yu towards the stage. The onlookers couldn't hide their jealousy at this interaction.

As he reached the platform, people looked at him with mockery. He took out the instrument, sat at the table, and began to play:

"Oh, beautiful one, it seems like you are an angel sent from heaven. Your beauty has captivated the whole globe. You've set the whole city on fire. Your 'man' is likewise well-known. I have punished a few men for you. How do I express how much I adore you? I've given you my heart. Put this necklace around your neck."

Something else came to his mind, and he added, "Those who dwell among the stars, their arrogance beyond measure, should exercise patience. The day of reckoning approaches when their lifeless forms will rain down."

As he finished his performance, there was applause from the audience, mostly from the girls, while the boys remained in their world of ego.

Heading back towards Tang Yuehua, he took his seat. Yuehua looked at him in astonishment and said, "You are really good at this." As she spoke, she recalled the lyrics of the song, and her heart skipped a beat. Her face turned slightly red.

As they sat there, the sound of clapping filled the room, and a man entered.

Seeing him, Tang Yuehua stood up and addressed the man, saying, "Your Highness, Crown Prince." Hun Yu also stood up.

"No need to stand, please sit," he said as he took a seat.

"So, what can I do for Your Highness?" she asked, looking towards Xue Qinghe.

"I just came to appreciate the brother's song," he said, glancing at Hun Yu.

"Thanks, Your Highness. I appreciate it." After chatting for a while, it was time for them to leave.

"Alright, Your Highness Xue Qinghe, we shall take our leave," said Tang Yuehua, gesturing for Hun Yu to join her.

"Wait," Xue Qinghe stopped them. "I would like to talk with Brother Yu Hun about something." He made it clear he wanted to speak with Hun Yu, and Tang Yuehua understood the situation and left the room, waiting outside.

"What does Your Highness want to talk about?" asked Hun Yu, curious.

"Nothing much, just a simple thing. The last line of the song you sang, I still cannot understand its meaning: 'Those who dwell among the stars, their arrogance beyond measure, should exercise patience. The day of reckoning approaches when their lifeless forms will rain down.'"

Hun Yu scratched his head, not knowing the meaning himself; it had just come to him.
