Chapter-16 Hand-to-hand combat

I made my way towards my home, my thoughts consumed with the words of Master Yun about the importance of the Code of Honor. As I walked, I reflected on how integral it was to a person's life. Upon arriving at my house, I climbed onto my bed and began cultivating my soul power. Time passed by in a blur, and before I knew it, night had fallen and I had fallen asleep.

In the morning, I awoke and washed my face, feeling the remnants of yesterday's training still lingering on my skin. I quickly made my way to the kitchen and prepared some food for myself, then set out towards Master Yun's house. As I arrived, I knocked on the door and waited patiently for him to answer.

After a few moments, Master Yun emerged, and we made our way to the training ground. As we walked, he posed a hypothetical question to me, asking what I would do if someone were to attack me. I responded confidently that I would fight back, but he quickly pointed out that I didn't even know how to fight with my hands.

The realization hit me hard, and I felt a twinge of frustration at my lack of skill. But Master Yun simply smiled and began to teach me the basics of hand-to-hand combat, and I felt a newfound determination to improve myself and embody the Code of Honor to the best of my ability.

As the days passed by, a week had already gone by since Master Yun began teaching Hun Yu hand-to-hand combat. His sharp eyes were always watching, and his quick reflexes left Hun Yu with bruises and aching muscles. But despite the pain, he knew that every blow was teaching him something new.

With each passing day, Hun Yu's skills were improving, but the master's experience was too much for him to handle. Every time they sparred, Hun Yu was beaten badly, his body slamming against the ground over and over again. It was discouraging, but he refused to give up. He was determined to become a powerful warrior, no matter how difficult the path may be.

As the sun began to set, talk of a party the next night started to spread throughout the village. Everyone was excited, and Hun Yu could hear the sounds of preparation coming from each home. But for him, there was no time for festivities. His daily routine was focused on cultivating his soul power and getting some much-needed rest. With all the time spent in hand-to-hand combat training, he had to make up for it by spending as much time as possible cultivating inside his room.

As the day wore on, the heat became almost unbearable. Hun Yu could feel sweat dripping down his face, and his muscles were screaming for rest. But Master Yun pushed him on, determined to make him stronger.

"You're not giving it your all," he growled, his voice dripping with frustration. "I know you can do better than this."

Hun Yu tried to focus on his technique, but his exhaustion made it difficult. Master Yun was relentless, always pushing him to the brink of his limits.

"You call that a punch? A child could hit harder than that!" he barked, as he easily dodged Hun Yu's feeble attack.

Frustration boiled inside Hun Yu, but he knew he couldn't give up. He tried again, putting all his strength into a punch, but Master Yun sidestepped it with ease.

"Pathetic," he sneered. "You're not even trying. You'll never be a true warrior if you don't put in the effort."

Hun Yu gritted his teeth, feeling the bruises on his arms and legs throb with pain. "I'm trying," he retorted, his voice strained.

"Trying isn't enough," he replied coldly. "You need to give it your all. Otherwise, what's the point?"

Hun Yu hung his head, feeling defeated. Master Yun's harsh words stung, but he knew they were necessary

As the sun began to set on another day of training, I couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment. It had been almost two months since I left the village, determined to become a powerful warrior. And with each passing day, I was making significant progress in hand-to-hand combat.

As I made my way back to my house, my thoughts turned to my faithful Xiao Xiao. I wondered how he was doing, but I had little time to ponder as my focus was on my training. I had to push myself to the limit if I was to achieve my goal.

Exhausted, I finally arrived at my house and collapsed onto my bed. As I closed my eyes, I thought about the last two weeks of intense training. I had made a lot of progress in both hand-to-hand combat and in my cultivation of soul power. In fact, my soul power had reached level 25, a milestone I was proud of.

As I drifted off to sleep, I couldn't wait for the next day of training to arrive. And when it did, I made my way to the training ground, eager to continue my journey towards becoming a powerful warrior.

Master Yun was already there when I arrived, and he wasted no time in giving me feedback on my progress. "Your hand-to-hand combat is good for self-protection," he said. "But you should focus more on your cultivation. If your Hun Yu soul power level is low, then your hand-to-hand combat skills will be of little use."

I took Master Yun's words to heart and committed myself to focusing on my cultivation. And with each passing day, I grew stronger, both physically and spiritually.

With each passing day, I continued to devote myself to the cultivation of my soul power. Over the course of two months, I spent most of my time practicing and meditating under the sun, allowing my soul power to steadily increase. My efforts paid off, as I was able to break through to the next level and achieve a soul power level of 30.

During this time, I also engaged in minor physical training and other activities that helped to improve my physical and mental strength. Although there was still a long way to go on my journey, I felt a sense of pride and accomplishment at the progress I had made.

Looking towards the future, I knew that there would be many challenges and obstacles to face. However, I was confident that with my newfound strength and power, I would be able to overcome them and continue on my path to becoming a powerful Soul master.
