21 Oscar's Third Ring!

We move deeper into the forest as we search around for a suitable Spirit Beast for Oscar to absorb. Along the way, Fatty played around with a small Snail Spirit Beast and got ink sprayed on his face which couldn't come off until Tang San notified him of a plant that could wash it off.

We didn't move fast as we didn't want to aggravate any Spirit Beasts that are too strong. Though I can defeat a 10,000-year-old Spirit Beast, if we are unlucky and annoy a 100,000-year-old one then I don't have the confidence to protect everyone.

Suddenly, a group of 10-year Weasel Spirit Beasts walk around in front of us while grazing the grass, Mu Bai gets pissed off that they are blocking and was about to attack before I smack him across the back of the head, "Stop it, you idiot."

He looks at me, a little aggrieved, "What's wrong Brother Wulin, they are just a bunch of 10-year Spirit Beasts, what are you worrying about?"

I shake my head at him, "There is no need to kill weak Spirit Beasts, it takes so long for them to grow up so if everyone keeps killing young Spirit Beasts then there will be no strong ones left for younger generations. These Weasels could one day grow up to become 10,000-years-old or even older. They could also become the Spirit Rings of your descendants."

Mu Bai contemplates on my words for a second before nodding, "You're right, if we keep killing weak Spirit Beasts without care, then there will be nothing left in the future."

Then, I look towards Qing'er, "You go and scout for us, since you are our only light attack system, you are going to be our scout from now on."

Qing'er nods then disappears. I use my Golden Fiery Eyes to help me see through the forest better, I also used it to look at Xiao Wu, and saw the form of a small rabbit where her heart is. The others didn't have anything, meaning that it can also find Spirit Beasts that have transformed to humans.

Soon, I see Qing'er rushing back, and a shadow following behind her. I warn the others, "Qing'er is bringing something back, it's a flying snake with a chicken's comb on its head."

Tang San jumps up, "It's a Phoenix Tailed Chicken Comb Snake! If its age is suitable, it will be a perfect match for Oscar!" The snake quickly gets closer allowing Tang San to see it's age, "It's between 1,300 to 1,800-years-old. Everyone, get ready, we can't let this chance go!"

Fatty flies above the Snake and uses his bloodline dominance to force it to the ground, then Little Yue and Tang San use their abilities to bind it, but it slips through with its slippery scales. It tries to run away but Qing'er uses her speed to keep up with it and not let it escape.

Rong Rong uses her speed enhancement on Qing'er allowing her to move slightly faster than the Snake. Soon, she gets in front of the Snake, ready to strike it down when suddenly, the Snake opens its mouth and lets out a breath.

Mu Bai screams out and transforms, he quickly rushes towards Qing'er and grabs her by the waist. Angry, he sends an attack towards the Snake, but I reached it in time and blocked the attack.

I grab the snake and throw it down towards Feng Feng. She uses her own bloodline suppression on it, not allowing it to run away. Her Phoenix bloodline is even stronger than the Fatty's, so it cowered on the ground in front of her, not daring to move. Feng Feng gives a happy laugh and knocks the Snake out with a punch.

Qing'er is already awake by the time Mu Bai lands, and is blushing as he holds her. Mu Bai gets close to her face and asks, "Are you alright? Oscar! Come here and give me a detox garlic!

Tang San walks over and says, "It's alright, the breath of this Spirit Beast isn't poisonous, it just paralyses them and knocks them out."

Hearing that Mu Bai is relieved and let go of Qing'er. She looks at him for a second, giving a soft "Thank you." before going to Rong Rong. Mu Bai also blushes a bit before turning away.

I look at Oscar, "Hurry up and absorb the Spirit Ring, the faster we do this, the faster we can go back home." Oscar nods and goes to the snake.

I watch as Oscar is about to kill the Snake, "STOP!" a snake tongue comes flying out from behind the trees and shoots at Oscar, I quickly block the path and smack it away with my staff.

A girl appears from behind the trees, she has short hair and is wearing a dress that emphasises her curves. She carries a snake head cane as she releases two Spirit Rings, "That Spirit Beast is mine!"

I look towards her, "We are the ones who beat it, it is ours so go find another." After that I turn around and tell Oscar to kill it.

The girl gets pissed off at my words and instantly attacks me but is blocked by Tang San who begins to fight with her. Suddenly, an old grandma comes out from behind the trees as well as she releases 6 Spirit Rings, "That snake was first found by my granddaughter and I, we will be the ones taking it."

I shake my head at her, "I don't care if you were the one to find it or the one to give birth to it, since it is in our hands, it is ours. I could give you a chance to get it though, if you want to make a bet?"

"Why do I have to make a bet with you, when I can just take it forcefully?" She glares at me and gets in position to strike.

I instantly release my slaughter domain, covering her inside. Her face pales completely as she is suppressed by my killing intent, "Of course, if you can take it forcefully, you can do that as well. But remember, the price for that may be too much for you to pay."

She retracts her Spirit Rings and looks at me fearfully, "A domain… Even some titled douluo's do not have one, what is the bet you want to make?"

"We will see if my friend can beat your granddaughter, if he can win, we get the Snake and if your granddaughter wins, then you can take it. Whoever wins, the other side won't fight over it." (Wulin)

The old grandma nods her head as it's the only chance she has at getting the Snake.

I look to Tang San and tell him, "You better win, otherwise Oscar will be sad for a week."

Xiao Wu also looks at Tang San, "Brother Xiao San! You better not lose to this vixen! Otherwise I won't talk to you anymore!"

Tang San sweats a bit when hearing Xiao Wu but has a confident expression on his face. He battles it out with the girl for a couple minutes before coming to a standstill, with Tang San holding the tongue blade, while the girl holds the cane.

The girl tries to overpower Tang San with her Spirit Power but is never able to fully push him back. Rather, once it reaches a certain point, it gets stopped instantly, unable to move further.

Tang San defends that one point with patience. The gets angry because she hasn't finished him off yet and begins to throw out more power.

Tang San uses his Spirit Power in a spiral, which helps him defend and increase its power, like a never-ending tsunami. The girl can't push any further but doesn't want to give up.

In a last-ditch attempt, she uses the rest of her Spirit Power to blast Tang San, and he does the same. An explosion happens around the two of them before fading away. Both of them are standing there unmoving, until the girl begins to fall.

The old grandma rushes out and catches her, "Yiran!" She looks at Tang San, then to me before saying "The Spirit Beast is yours, I will remember this!" and runs away.

Zhao Wuji comes over laughing, "Don't you guys know who that old lady was? That was the Snake Grandmother, part of the Sky Dominating Dragon and Snake combo. Even Titled Douluo are cautious when the two of them are together. Tang San! You did a good job beating their Granddaughter!" Zhao Wuji said as he smacks Tang San on the shoulder, but Tang San doesn't answer and just falls over unconscious.

The others panic a bit but when Zhao Wuji tells them he is just exhausted, they relax. Tang San wakes up soon after and starts recovering his Spirit Power. Oscar also kills the Spirit Beast and absorbs its Spirit Ring.

After a couple hours Oscar finishes absorbing the Spirit Ring and tries to show it off. He gets in a running position and kicks off the ground. With incredible speed, he launches himself directly into a tree.

A couple of us laugh at him as he falls back down. Losing interest in his Spirit Ability until he yells out, "Flight! My ability allows me to fly at the Snake's speed for one minute!"

They look at him shocked, especially Rong Rong, who whispers to herself, "Oscar's third Spirit Ability is really powerful, will he become the best support system Spirit Master out there?"

I see Rong Rong who is a little sullen, and I go rub her head, "What are you worrying about now?"

She looks at me with a downcast expression, "Brother Wulin, Oscar will become a great support system Spirit Master, even surpassing my Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, will you still need me once Oscar has become strong?"

"Of course I will need you. Oscar has things that he is good at, and you have things you are good at. You don't have to feel down just because of this, I am sure you will also get strong Spirit Abilities in the future." (Wulin)

"But, my Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda can only hold a total of seven Spirit Rings, I will be left behind by all of you in the future…" (Rong Rong)

"Don't think so far ahead, there are many things that can happen before that. Who knows, your Spirit may mutate in the future, allowing you to go beyond your limits. And even if you can't, I still won't abandon you."

I grab her hand, not letting her mind wander to dark places anymore. She blushes as I hold her hand while Little Yue and Feng Feng come over. Rong Rong quickly struggles out of my hand, "I'm sorry Sister Yue, Sister Feng! It was my fault!"

Little Yue and Feng Feng look at her, before each taking one of her hands, "It's ok, we don't restrict Big Brother from liking others, as long as he doesn't forget us." "We like you too, so we will be happy if you stay with us forever."

Rong Rong blushes deeply at their words and doesn't know what to say. I see this and give the both of them a knock on the head, "Don't pressure her. You don't have to worry, Rong Rong. We have plenty of time together at the academy, so we can see if we are meant for each other."

Rong Rong calms down a bit, and nods her head, "But, Brother Wulin, I think I do like you, at least more than others."

I laugh a little, feeling happy, when suddenly Tang San wakes up. Xiao Wu rushes to him, "Xiao San! How are you feeling?!" she jumps on him, giving him a hug.

Tang San blushes but remembers my words from earlier and grabs Xiao Wu's hand, "I am fine, Xiao Wu. Even better, I have reached level 30 so I need to get another Spirit Ring."

Xiao Wu is embarrassed that Tang San held her hand, but didn't shake it off, instead staying there while hugging him.

I was about to congratulate him when suddenly the sky goes dark. I feel an immense pressure crushing me, I quickly grab the three of them and retreat as fast as I could. Zhao Wuji uses his gravity control to pull the rest of the students and he also retreats as a large tree crashes where they were standing.

I look up to see the Titan Giant Ape, Er Ming. I couldn't even feel it as it got closer, at this point I realised I had severely overestimated my own abilities after fighting Zhao Wuji and severely underestimated the Titan Giant Ape's abilities.

I knew, if this thing fought me seriously, I wouldn't stand a chance.
