6 I Choose You!

'Charmander, Froakie, and Grookey... hmm, this is a tough choice,' I ponder as I place my paw on my chin. Though it may look funny to other's eye, seeing a furry yellow mouse striking a thinking pose.

Froakie is a good choice as a very fast starter Pokemon who can turn into a super handsome Ash-Greninja, but Pikachu is already fast enough and powerful enough, so that would be unnecessary.

Grookey is also useful as a control-type Pokemon, who can Gigantmax, capable of changing the continent but the disadvantage is that it's pretty slow and not very strong in the early stages.

Charmander is an excellent choice, with the ability to breath fire, and is pretty fast, better than most Pokemon. And when it evolve into Charizard, there is lot of options such as Mega-Evolve into X form or Y form, or Gigantamax into a very large powerful version of Charizard.

'Alright, I've decided. I choose you, Charmander!' After some contemplation, Wang Shòu finally selects Charmander, one of the most loved and iconic Pokemon. Of course, it's also because Charizard is very cool.

After all, what do the protagonists in Xianxia novels always say? Strength may be temporary in life, but handsomeness alway lasts forever in life! And Charizard has both the handsomeness and the strength, which is a win-win situation!

[Very well. Ding! You can now transform into Charmander. You just need to mentally think of turning yourself into Charmander.]

'Alright, ooh boy! I'm excited for this.' Excited, I had to calm myself down before finally focusing my thoughts on becoming Charmander.

Almost immediately, the Pikachu form starts to morph into Charmander. Thankfully, it only takes an instant; otherwise, it might have turned into a horror movie.

Soon, a small, lizard-like Pokémon appears, standing at about two feet tall. Its body is covered in smooth, vibrant orange scales that radiate warmth. A cream-colored underbelly stretches from its chin to the tip of its short, stubby tail. Atop its narrow, triangular head are bright blue eyes that sparkle with curiosity and intelligence. The most striking feature of this creature is the small flame burning at the end of its tail, representing the life of this creature.

'I really did turn into Charmander!' Wang Shòu looks at his small orange hand with sharp claws, amazed.

'Oh right, not the time to admire myself, I need to check my status to see what has changed.' After twisting around, admiring my own appearance, Wang Shòu finally remembers to check his status.

[Name: Wang Shòu]

[Race: Charmander]

[Level: 5 (50 Years Old)]

[Self Created Move: Spark Tackle (Unusable)]

[Pokemon: Pikachu (11)]

'Hmm, the status has been updated with a new section, obviously indicating what Pokemon I can turn into... but Charmander is level 5, which is concerning.'

Noticing that Charmander is at level five, Wang Shòu asks the system a question. 'Hey, system, why is Charmander level 5? I thought it would be 11, the same as Pikachu.'

[The reason for that is because the requirement for Pokemon to level up is experience points, and all the experience went into Pikachu. That is one of the reasons. But mainly, it has something to do with the later locked privilege.]

'Oh? It has something to do with the later privilege? Can you tell me what all the locked privileges are about and the requirements to unlock them?' Wang Shòu asks with interest, his orange reptilian face showing curiosity.

[For now, I can only tell you about the first locked privilege. The first one is Split Pokemon, which allows you to bring out other Pokemon aside from the Pokemon you are in and control their actions. Essentially, one mind controlling multiple bodies at once, and the requirement is that each Pokemon must be level 30.]

'Wait, so say I have 3 Pokemon at once, two of them are level 30, but the last one is level 29, I can only have 2 Pokemon out and control what they do?'

[Correct. The sub-Pokemon will be like an empty body unable to do anything, and it can only move with your mind controlling it. But I don't recommend doing it with more than three. If you want to control more than three, then it is recommended to learn Heart Separation Control.]

'Heart Separation Control... which allows me to do multiple things simultaneously. Hmm, that belongs to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan... but I can't remember, does that clan still exist in Douluo Dalu 3?'

[Yes, though the location of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan is in Star Lou Continent, which is quite far away.]

'...I see. Well, no matter, I'm satisfied with just controlling three Pokemon.' Wang Shòu sighs in disappointment and comforts himself that when he have the chance, he will definitely learn Heart Separation Control in the future.

'So I have another question. Yes, I do understand the reason why Charmander is not on the same level as Pikachu. But say if Pikachu seriously injures a 200-year-old spirit beast, and Charmander comes to finish it off. Does Charmander gain the experience, or is it split between Pikachu and Charmander?'

[The experience will be shared between the two Pokemon, but the amount of experience one can get depends on their contribution. So Charmander can indeed gain experience, but it would be very inefficient unless it is a much stronger opponent.]

'I see... I guess I should have expected it. Anyway, thanks for the explanation.' Thanking the system, Wang Shòu shifts his attention to his new body as Charmander.

Now, let's see the capabilities of Charmander.

'System, show me the moves Charmander can currently use.'

[Affirmative.] Without a moment's delay, a blue profile appears, showing the moves of Charmander.

[Moveset]

[Growl]

[Ember]

[Scratch]

'I see... I expected it, but I'm still pretty disappointed... only three moves, though Growl and Ember are pretty decent moves.' Wang Shòu couldn't hide his disappointment, though he had already expected this since the Pokemon level in reality seem to works the same as the game.

Anyway let's test out the strength of Charmander with nearby spirit beast. If I encounter too strong spirit beasts, I can just turn into Pikachu, and defeat it quickly.

It's not that Wang Shòu is inflated or arrogant, but he is confident. As a level 11 Pikachu, with self-created Spark Tackle, he can contend with even 200 years old spirit beasts!
