Chapter 25: Hell Road

Swallowed by that red light, Nian Zhen, Hongchen and Hei Pao simultaneously felt the ground drop out beneath their feet, everything in their surroundings becoming illusory, all their awareness this instant became sealed.

Their killing intent condensed into a faint white layer that protected their bodies. If not for this killing intent, the instant they were covered in that red light, they would truly have been swallowed up.

After an unknown amount of time, accompanied by a violent jolt, all sensation returned once again, the blood red light in the surroundings gradually fading.

As Nian Zhen sobered completely, he discovered that he was on top of a round platform. This platform was only five meters across or so, not very large. The three both fell to the ground.

"I will deal with that old man later on…" Nian Zhen thought, removing dust from his robe.

"Cloning, Release." Nian Zhen said which caused Hongchen and Hei Pao to disappear in a cloud of smoke.

Right now, the Slaughter King may be able to feel them but he can't see what is going inside Hell Road. Because Nian Zhen was Hei Pao and Hongchen themselves, he could easily pass off as three different people when his spiritual power is felt.

Everything in Nian Zhen's surroundings appeared a faint blood red. Outside of the five meter diameter platform below their feet, was unexpectedly a bottomless abyss.

*Crack**Crack*

"Hoooh...." Nian Zhen exhaled deeply while cracking his joints. Taking off his blindfold, Nian Zhen opened his mouth.

"Archangel..." Nian Zhen whispered, summoning his 2nd soul. A huge black figure appeared behind Nian Zhen. Red light flashing in its eyes, the Fallen Archangel mixed in with Nian Zhen. As soon as completely merging, 14 Black Wings evolved from Nian Zhen's back, spreading a dark and gloomy aura.

A huge shockwave formed around Nian Zhen as he soared towards the direction where the narrow path connected to the platform led to.

*Boom*

Flapping the 7 pairs of wings simultaneously, Nian Zhen blasted off towards that direction.

Not even a minute later, Nian Zhen felt the presence of some pests. A moment later, Nian Zhen saw a huge red cloud coming towards him. Stopping in midair, Nian Zhen looked at the flock of a thousand Blood Red Bats.

"Hyperspace Fury.." Nian Zhen said as countless spiritual arms formed around him. Forming blades made out of Spirit Energy, Nian Zhen rushed towards the Blood Red Bats.

Each arm cut down some Bats into pieces, sending their slashed body below to the abyss, where blood magma was present. That blood was the source of Slaughter City's energy.

After completely annihilating the bats, Nian Zhen looked towards a certain direction. Due to his telescopic viewpoint, he could see an enormous figure, hanging upside down, releasing a dark golden light.

[It is probably the Dark Golden Three-Headed Bat King.]

"I know…" Nian Zhen said. Heading towards the Bat King, Nian Zhen finally saw the 4m long creature.

"Photon Geyser…" Nian Zhen used his 4th Spirit Ring ability of his Archangel Soul.

Multiple dark rays, like a pillar of light appeared out of thin air, immediately bombarding the Bat King.

"As I thought it was weak." Nian Zhen sighed.

[No host. If you had attacked it while it was awake, the chance of it surviving was 2%.]

"That's the same isn't it?" Nian Zhen thought with a blank face.

[Host. Is this really okay. Didn't you want Tang San to face difficulties. This will just reduce his challenge.]

"Don't worry. Slaughter King has many pets with himself. If I killed this Bat King, it showed that it was weak. Then, he would have no other choice but to let a strong beast reside here. Like that, Tang San will either die or become even stronger. The more strong he is, the more joyful 'that' day will be." Nian Zhen said with an evil smile.

Nian Zhen soared off again. This time what he encountered was a little different from what Tang San had encountered. What was supposed to be one Ten-headed Fierce Yang Serpent, was now replaced by three of the same beasts.

The three were wriggling around a small platform that could barely fit them.

"Uh-huh. Playing games are we?" Nian Zhen thought. This was sort of expected by him. Even though he may have some connection with the Death Gods, the slaughter king must have known about it. The alibi presented by Nian Zhen was only enough to make the slaughter king cautious, but was not enough to make him completely silent.

"Not that it matters. Even if they somehow poison me, my Absolute Contaminant Immunity will completely make it invalid." Nian Zhen thought.

"Thousand arrows…" As soon as Nian Zhen's voice fell, countless neon arrows formed behind him. With a slight wave of his hand, all of those arrows poured onto the snakes. Within a minute what remained on the platform was three dead bodies of enormous snakes with countless holes in their body.

Landing on the platform, Nian Zhen began to absorb all of its essence. Increasing his power like a lunatic, Nian Zhen felt his spirit rings evolve.

This same phenomena had appeared countless times before, but Nian Zhen had suppressed it while trying to find a right time to evolve.

[Host. This much should be the limit. You should evolve them as soon as you come out of the road.]

"Okay." Nian Zhen replied.

Even if these beasts may not be Spirit Beasts, they still possess immense natural essence that Nian Zhen needed. Flying off towards a straight narrow path, Nian Zhen felt the temperature around him rising swiftly.

Nian Zhen could easily control any basic element. Using that skill, Nian Zhen made it so that the heat would not affect him in any way. As he reached closer and closer towards the exit, Nian Zhen felt extremely strong Killing intent constantly pounding and pressuring his mind.

Gritting his teeth and moving forward, Nian Zhen rushed using his entire strength until he saw a curtain of light. The exit has finally arrived.

Swiftly flying through the exit, Nian Zhen suddenly felt dizzy. Everything around him seemed to change. The instant Nian Zhen entered that white light, he immediately felt as if he had entered a special world.

Around him was a snow white nothingness, reminding him of his home, the Extreme North. His Martial Soul seemed to be restrained by an unknown force, forcibly pressing back into his body.

In this world of boundless white, he couldn't use a bit of strength. All he felt was ice cold. It was as if immeasurable cold aggregated towards him, and also like immeasurable cold exuded from his body. In this white nothingness, Nian Zhen endured the frightful pain.

The chill produced by killing intent also appeared within his body. The purest slaughter intent swiftly invaded Nian Zhen, and with each part entering, Nian Zhen trembled.

As that cold gradually made his heart stiffen, his consciousness and senses also gradually began to grow distant. But at this moment, Nian Zhen was gaining the domain, a domain condensed from killing intent.

Of course, this domain was far, far too weak compared to his Sealed Unlimited Void.

Enduring this pain, Nian Zhen could vaguely hear a voice.
