Chapter 12 - Terror Tiger King and Shadow Assassin Panther
Xingyun, Bao'er and grandpa Chen is currently roaming the Star Dou Forest looking for cat spirit beasts that suits what they needed at the moment. Bao'er will absorb a 9000 years old spirit ring while Xingyun plans to absorb a 15000 years old spirit ring, based on the grounds that his blood ring is currently 14000 years old. Xingyun is actually a bit jealous of Bao'er's physique, in his estimates she can absorb an 8000 years old spirit ring, her physique actually reached this stage just within 2 years and if she's given even a few more months, she might just be able to absorb a 9000 years old spirit ring without Xingyun assistance, this just made Xingyun's 4 years of spartan training like a joke, sadly she cannot absorb a 10000 years old spirit ring because she had no way to train her mental fortitude, which is essential to at least have a way to fight off the 10000 years old spirit ring's spirit shock, that's why she decided to breakthrough to spirit grandmaster, instead of strengthening her physique and improving her techniques.
When Xingyun first saw Bao'er's fast improvement of physique, he actually considered trying to go through the strength route but in the end, abandoned the idea because he's just not suited for it. Every route have their very own advantages and disadvantages, Bao'er's strength route gives her the advantage of having a very strong physique but its disadvantage is that it lacks mobility, while Xingyun's speed and flexibility route gives him the advantage of having extreme mobility but it's disadvantages is that his physique when compared to Bao'er if she's at the same rank as him will be way way inferior.
Bao'er is still salty that her second spirit ring cannot be a 10000 years old spirit ring because she had no way to train her mental fortitude, but she accepted it because she really couldn't put her life on the line just because she wants to have an equal or even older spirit ring than his brother, besides she can just absorb a spirit ring older than her brother's third spirit ring for her third spirit ring. When she thought of the chance to surpass her brother for at least once aspect, her eyes beamed with competitiveness, the one thing she hates the most is losing, and her brother is the only spirit grandmaster she ever met, that can defeat her, with her not having a chance of retaliation at all.
After an hour of roaming in the inner parts of Star Dou Forest, Xingyun found the perfect spirit beast for his sister.

He and Bao'er immediately pounced on it, with him reaching the spirit beast first and distracting it while Bao'er is circling it, waiting for a chance to hit it when it least expected it. In the past two years, they trained their teamwork and their teamwork now, can be said to be almost perfect now.
After a few minutes of harrasing it, they finally killed it, then Bao'er immediately sat in a lotus position to absorb it, after a few hours she finally finished abosrbing the spirit ring with no difficulties at all. The moment Bao'er opened her eyes, her gaze made Xingyun shiver, if before her fierceness can be compared to a 1000 years old lion spirit beast, now it can be compared to a 10000 years old ordinary lion spirit beasts, it even made Xingyun, who had a superior bloodline shiver.
"Is that your spirit skill?", grandpa Chen asked, he's very satisfied of this spirit skill, it really suits Bao'er's fighting style.
"Yes grandpa, I can also control people who have low resistance to mental attacks, against their will", Bao'er said, her eyes were beaming with happiness. "Thanks brother, you always knows what spirit skills I needed".
"Of course! I read every book in our clan library just to have all the knowledge I need to be a strong spirit master, this is nothing", Xingyun boasted. "Though, you should really look at the Terror Tiger King we killed, you missed something", Xingyun said.
"Wha-?", Bao'er questioned what she missed but the moment she looked at the corpse and saw a spirit bone lying on the head of it, she blanked out.
"You're so lucky Bao'er, you got a skull spirit bone after killing your second spirit beast, absorb it, I'm sure whatever skill it will give you, will be very suitable for you", Xingyun urged her, grandpa Chen also agreed to what Xingyun said and also urged for her to absorb it, which Bao'er did excitedly. After an hour of waiting, she finally finished absorbing it, and like what Xingyun said, the skill it gave her is very suitable for her, Mental Command, it allows her to command the people she controlled mentally.
They continued to search for a suitable spirit beasts fo Xingyun and after 3 hours, Xingyun finally found the most suitable spirit skill for him, to solve his low attacking power and lethality.

This cat spirit beast is known as one of the deadliest cat spirit beasts in the Douluo continent, their stealth abilities is extraordinary and their favorite thing to do is sneaking up on their prey and stab them when they least expected it, also their claws is so sharp and that's why their species is known as the spirit beast equivalent of an assassin.
Like what they did when they killed the Terror Tiger King, Xingyun and Bao'er also used the same tactic to kill this spirit beast, Blacky also joined the fight, he is what you would call the pest you just can't get rid of, with Blacky's current comprehension of destiny, the panther wouldn't even have the slightest bit of chance of hitting him, the panther became frustrated and enraged because of the two flies buzzing in front of it, then it pounced to catch the two flies off guard but, what he imagined didn't happen and instead of killing the two, he actually became so injured that he is now bent on escaping but before he can even stand and run away, Xingyun decisively stab it's heart and killed it.
Like always, even though the spirit ring went smoothly, the forming of blood rings is just too painful and exhausting so he collapsed afterwards and was brought bake to the village by grandpa Chen.

(author's note: if you see what I posted before this, this isn't the chapter that I mentioned there, I finished this chapter and forgot to upload it before I started writing the next chapter, btw I have been reading through the wiki and many glossaries of fanfics to once more understand soul cores, but I cannot find any info about Tang Wulin's GDK bloodline core and its effects to Tang Wulin, I've already forgotten what it does so if you guys knows what it's effects are or even just a chapter in the original series where it's effects is explained, please help me lol.)
