Chapter 56: New Mission: Queen Medusa
Zhao Ming and Flame Spirit Ji walked together into the main hall.
At that moment, Xiao Wu was sitting on the couch, eating an orange. But when she saw Zhao Ming holding Flame Spirit Ji's hand, the orange suddenly didn't taste so good anymore.
Women, after all, often say one thing but feel another. Even though she outwardly acted generous, deep down, she couldn't help but feel a little jealous.

"Where's Bi Ji?" Zhao Ming asked as he sat down beside Xiao Wu. He picked up a bunch of washed grapes, peeled two, popped one into his mouth, and fed the other to Xiao Wu.
As Xiao Wu accepted the grape from Zhao Ming's hand, the trace of jealousy in her heart melted away. Instead, she felt warm and content. She wasn't someone who desired much. When she chose to be with Zhao Ming, she knew moments like this would come. She loved him, and as long as she had a place in his heart, that was enough for her.
"Bi Ji is in the kitchen, cooking. I wanted to help earlier, but she shooed me away. She said she's trying out a new recipe and didn't want me interfering," Xiao Wu said with a sweet smile, pointing toward the kitchen.
Zhao Ming could smell the savory aroma of fish drifting from the kitchen. Ever since Bi Ji had moved in, she had developed a passion for cooking. For the past five years, she had mostly been in charge of the meals and seemed to thoroughly enjoy it.
Letting a 570,000-year-old beast act as a housekeeper was quite unusual, to say the least.
Initially, Zhao Ming didn't want her to work so hard, but Bi Ji seemed genuinely interested in such tasks. As a soul beast, she didn't need to cultivate, so she would get bored. In the past, soul beasts like her could sleep for decades, but now, with her responsibility to watch over Zhao Ming, she couldn't afford to slip into such long periods of rest.
So, cooking had become one of Bi Ji's ways to pass the time.
The rest of her time was spent shopping with Flame Spirit Ji.
Like Bi Ji, Flame Spirit Ji didn't need to cultivate, as she only needed to absorb Zhao Ming's soul power. As a result, Flame Spirit Ji was often even more idle than Bi Ji, and naturally, the two women became close companions.
Speaking of which, Flame Spirit Ji and Bi Ji, two stunning beauties, often caused quite a stir when they appeared together in Notting City.

However, Bi Ji and Flame Spirit Ji had no such habit of wearing veils, and their striking beauty garnered a lot more attention.

"I'll go check on her." Zhao Ming stuffed the rest of the grapes into his mouth and headed toward the kitchen.
In the kitchen, Bi Ji was wearing an apron and carefully slicing cabbage. Despite the large apron, her mature and graceful charm remained entirely intact.
Zhao Ming quietly approached her.
Seeing her standing there, wearing an apron like a gentle housewife, with a slender waist, long legs, and serene elegance, Zhao Ming couldn't help but admire her even more.
Though he hadn't taken the final step with Bi Ji, their relationship was fully established.
He gently wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, feeling the delicate curve hidden beneath the large apron.
"Don't mess around; I'm cutting vegetables," Bi Ji said hurriedly, feeling Zhao Ming's warm chest press against her back.
"Don't worry, you can keep cutting. I won't do anything. You know I'm a gentleman," Zhao Ming said with a smile.
Bi Ji nodded at his words. Though Zhao Ming often teased her, he had never done anything truly inappropriate. So, over the past five years, she had maintained her innocence.
"What would you like to eat this morning? I'll make it for you," Bi Ji asked thoughtfully. In her heart, even though Zhao Ming hadn't made the final move, she already saw herself as his wife.
"I want to eat you," Zhao Ming teased with a cheeky grin. Over the years, he had grown fond of Bi Ji's cooking, and no matter what she made, he always enjoyed it. After all, Zhao Ming wasn't picky.
"If you keep joking around, I won't let you hug me anymore," Bi Ji scolded with a playful glare, but her heart was warm. She had no resistance to Zhao Ming's sweet words.
Zhao Ming chuckled, resting his chin on her shoulder. "Whatever you make, I'm sure I'll love it."
Hearing his words, Bi Ji felt even more sweetness in her heart.
"Pfft, I bet you say that to Flame Spirit Ji and Xiao Wu as well."
"No way! Neither of them can cook like you. I've had my fill of Flame Spirit Ji's culinary disasters," Zhao Ming said, shivering at the memory. When Flame Spirit Ji first tried to learn cooking alongside Bi Ji, her creations had been nothing short of nightmarish.
He still remembered how many times he had to run to the bathroom after eating Flame Spirit Ji's "dark cuisine." Not eating would have been cruel, given the expectant look in her eyes, but eating it nearly destroyed him. Thankfully, once she realized she had no talent for cooking, she gave up.
"Pfft, you're so mean! I should go tell Flame Spirit Ji what you said about her."
"Go ahead, but before you do, I'm going to collect a little interest first." Zhao Ming grinned wickedly, giving Bi Ji's waist a playful squeeze.
"Hey! That tickles! Stop, the food's about to burn!" Bi Ji exclaimed, smelling the faint scent of something starting to scorch in the pan.
"Host, a new mission has been issued," came the sudden electronic voice in Zhao Ming's mind.
"You're still alive? I thought you had kicked the bucket!" Zhao Ming couldn't help but feel emotional hearing the long-lost system voice.
The system was unfazed by Zhao Ming's sarcasm, replying in a tempting tone. "This mission comes with a new puppet, and I'm sure she's exactly your type."
"A new puppet mission?!" Zhao Ming's excitement surged. He had been stuck at this level for two years. With a new puppet, and the power he had accumulated over the years, his cultivation would undoubtedly soar.
"Ding! Sign-in mission issued. Target: Shrek Academy."
"Mission Reward: Puppet Queen Medusa."
