The soul master smiles and leads the father-son duo to the chamber where the Spirit Souls are housed. "Alright, thank you, father," Xiao Yu replies, making his way towards the location where the Spirit Capsules are kept. This is his first time seeing them, and they leave him in awe. Each Spirit Capsule contains a Spirit Soul. He first seeks a spirit for his [Crimson Eye] Martial Soul, knowing he requires a Spiritual element Spirit Soul. Though rare, such spirits are still available in the Spirit Pagoda. Xiao Yu soon discovers a hundred-year-old Fox Spirit. While it may appear unremarkable to some, it possesses a keen detection ability that intrigues Xiao Yu. After confirming compatibility, he informs his father of his choice, and it gains approval. As for his second Spirit Soul, for the [Bright Sword], his father suggests a hundred-year-old Light Angel Soul, which Xiao Yu agrees upon, trusting his father's judgment.
"Light Angel Souls are exceptionally rare and cost twice as much as the original price. I hope that's not a deterrent," the soul master informs the father-son duo, expecting a negative reaction. However, he is once again surprised by Xiao Chen's response.
"Nah, it's fine," Xiao Chen casually replies.
Xiao Yu smiles at the brief exchange and follows the soul master to the room housing the Light Angel Spirit Soul. Upon entering, he encounters something different from what he expected.
"Hoh, kid, you seem talented," a voice echoes inside Xiao Yu's mind.
Awestruck, Xiao Yu realizes this is no ordinary occurrence and begins searching left and right, attempting to locate the source of the voice. However, his efforts prove fruitless.
Xiao Chen notices his son's perplexed expression and inquires, "Son, what happened? Are you feeling unwell?"
Xiao Yu nods to indicate he is fine and moves forward, hoping this action will lead him to the mysterious voice.
"Kid, this Monarch approves of you. If you so desire, this Monarch will allow you to take him as your Spirit Soul. Choose the ten-year-old Spirit Soul capsule in front of you," the voice speaks within Xiao Yu's mind.
Initially skeptical, Xiao Yu decides to trust the words of this so-called "Monarch." He proceeds to pick the ten-year-old Spirit Soul capsule, despite the presence of better options before him.
Xiao Chen, perplexed by his son's choice, attempts to correct him. "Son, a Spirit Soul of that level will only hold you back. I suggest you choose a better one."
However, Xiao Yu remains steadfast in his decision. Having heard of the Spirit Ice Douluo's similar experience, where the Skydream Ice Worm selected him to be his Spirit Soul, Xiao Yu, who reveres the Spirit Ice Douluo, doesn't want to miss out on such a magnificent opportunity.
