Chapter 86: Xian Chong

*Boom* *Boom* *Boom*

Multiple explosions could be seen and heard throughout the Ironblood Sect.

"Hahahaha! Wonderful, just wonderful!" A man wearing black robes with purple trim laughed maniacally as he stood in the middle of a completely dark room, void of all light, his red eyes gleaming with glee and madness.

He sweep back his long black hair and looked at the tensed Huo Yuhao with a confident smirk, his seven soul rings: two yellow, two purple and three black soul rings; a Soul Sage with the perfect soul ring configuration!

"I thought I'd get bored helping out that pathetic insect for a favor I unfortunately owed him, but who would've thought I'd meet someone as interesting as you and that girl! Boy, what is your name?"

Huo Yuhao's eyes narrowed, his Sharingan lit up with a golden glint as he observed his surroundings. Seeing nothing but complete utter darkness.

This was the first time his Sharingan and his Spiritual Detection failed to provide any information about his surroundings and it was the fault of the man before him. It was as if this man was shrouded in an impenetrable cloak of darkness.

'A darkness type martial soul and with an aura filled with malevolence and... vileness. An Evil Soul Sage, shit. Of all the people the Ironblood Sect managed to get as backup, it had be an Evil Soul Master.'

"Well, isn't kinda rude to ask someone's name without introducing themselves first?" Huo Yuhao slowly said as he silently prepared a couple of pellets in his right hand while his left hand started forming handseals.

The man blinked his eyes and chuckled, snapping his fingers. "Haha, you're right! How awfully rude of me to not state my name, actually, it's been a long time since I've said my name to others before."

"Oh? And why's that?"

A fanged smile appeared on the man's lips, "Because typically, when they see me, they already know who I am. But judging by the age of your bones, I can't fault you. Everyone who knows me are of the older generation."

'He can see through my body? What kind of martial soul does this guy have?' Huo Yuhao tensed up.

"Rejoice, young man. For you stand before a messenger of the dark one, an apostle who spreads misery, death and destruction throughout the land. I am Xian Chong, a Power-Attack System Evil Soul Sage with a martial soul that controls over darkness." The smile on his face widened and his second soul ring lit up.

{Shadow Hands}

Invisible tentacles of shadows shot out from Xian Chong's body, aiming to bind Huo Yuhao and restrict his movements. However, Huo Yuhao was quick to react. Although he couldn't "see" them, his instincts he accumulated and refined through hundreds of battles kicked in.

With a flick of his wrist, he released the pellets he had prepared, causing them to explode in a burst of blinding light.

The sudden flare of light disoriented Xian Chong, giving Huo Yuhao the opportunity to dodge the shadow hands with his instincts and create some distance between them. Taking advantage of the momentary confusion, Huo Yuhao inhaled, raising his right hand to his lips, he then spew out a fiery wave of flames towards Xian Chong's direction.

{Fire Release: Great Fireball Jutsu}

Huo Yuhao narrowed his eyes, quickly noticing the lack of Xian Chong's presence in the torrent of flames.

"Oh, you use flames?" A playful voice interrupted from behind Huo Yuhao. He turned around to see Xian Chong standing there, completely unscathed by the attack.

"You're fast, I'll give you that," Xian Chong remarked with a smirk. "But unfortunately for you, the darkness here is my domain."

Shadows seemed to darken around Xian Chong as he raised his hand, his first and fourth soul rings lighting up simultaneously, and created a sphere of pure darkness.

{Sphere of Darkness} {Eternal Darkness}

The Sphere of Darkness is a soul skill that creates a single spehere made completely of darkness that expands and pulls the surrounding opponents and objects into it, sort of like a black hole but they would only get paralyzed when they get sucked in. While Eternal Darkness is a soul skill that increases the power of darkness and his soul skills; the effects of the Sphere of Darkness wohld cause anyone trapped inside to experience unimaginable pain and suffering.

The sphere expanded rapidly, engulfing the entire room and Xian Chong watched on with a smile as Huo Yuhao gets pulled into Sphere of Darkness, but it quickly wiped out when he saw his body turned into ice. No, it was merely an ice clone of himself!

"Hm? A clone?!"

'Morever, ice? Didn't he use fire? Is his martial soul a rare dual elemental type, one of opposite nature? How very intriguing–' His eyes widened, as his body was then tightly wrapped with extremely durable metal wires from every direction and streams of hot flames travelled through the wires, burning him from head to toe.

Huo Yuhao's real body appeared behind Xian Chong, his first soul ring lit up so much that his body looked like it was glowing; he was using all four soul skills in tandem.

Without any hesitation and mercy, he raised his left hand, a flash of dark-blue light flashed across his arm and Ice God Legacy tattoo appeared, Frostbane appeared and slashed his sword downward with incredible force.

Suddenly a blanket of darkness then enveloped the burning figure of Xian Chong, his sixth soul ring shinning, just in time to block the ice blade.

The impact was immense, causing a surge of freezing energy to explode from the clash of their martial souls. Xian Chong was knocked back, the wire bindings still tightly wrapped around his flaming body.

Although a bit surprised, Huo Yuhao charged at the bound Xian Chong with his Frostbane raised. He wasn't going to waste any time nor hold back against an enemy such as Xian Chong.

He activated both Snow Dream and Spirit Fyre; trapping him in a time-loop dream and burning his mind and spirit.

He had no mercy to his enemies, especially towards an Evil Soul Master. Not only because they were stronger than their cultivation, but also for the things that they've done to increase their cultivation.

Just as his blade was about to decapitate Xian Chong's head, the latter's soul rings from first to fifth unexpectedly lit up.

A burst of powerful dark energy erupted from his body, shattering the flaming bindings and sending Huo Yuhao flying backward.

"Hahaha! You think you can defeat me so easily? How naive!" Xian Chong's voice echoed with a mix of madness and triumph. "A time looping dream and burning my spiritual sea, heh, what kind of monster are you kid?"

Huo Yuhao quickly regained his footing, his body covered in frost from the impact. He gritted his teeth and wiped away the frost, his cold and confident eyes silently stared at him.

Xian Chong grinned at him and patted his shoulders. "Not bad kid. If it were anyone else, they certainly would have died at that moment."

"Yet, you live." Huo Yuhao coldly muttered as he stood up.

Xian Chong laughed. "Of course I live! Experiencing constant nightmares and the incineration of my soul, bitch please! I went through that sort of shit almost on a daily when I was younger! The powerful fuckers that I learned under were psychos that had similar soul skills with you, though yours are... of higher quality? You know what I'm saying?"

He chuckled, "Unfortunate however, if you had been a few ranks higher in cultivation, you probably could've killed me then." grinning, he disappeared before reappearing before Huo Yuhao.

"At thirteen years old, Soul Elder and with two black soul rings. I have to say, you're the greatest genius that I've ever meet in my life. But, oh well. You're going to die here, bye!" He said as he created another sphere of darkness before throwing it at Huo Yuhao and then disappear into the shadows.

But unlike the previous one, the sphere of darkness that Xian Chong threw at Huo Yuhao was different. It was larger and had a swirling vortex of shadows within it.

Huo Yuhao's eyes widened as he sensed the immense power contained within the sphere. He could feel the malevolent energy radiating from it, threatening to consume him. Using his Sharingan, he could see the dark energy swirling within the sphere, growing more and more unstable.

Realizing that he couldn't dodge the attack, Huo Yuhao made a split-second decision.

'I only barely used this soul skill but it's the most powerful soul skill I have right now that can offset the power of the sphere of darkness.' His body began to emit a bone chilling frost and a jade-green glow, his entire ribcage and spine glowing with a faint, ethereal light. The light grew brighter and brighter, shining through the darkness of the room.

{Domain of Perpetual Ice}

A shadow of a giant ice scorpion appeared over his body, the Domain of Perpetual Ice came into existence, freezing everything within its range and nullifying the effects of the sphere of darkness. The intense cold created by the domain froze the shadow vortex, causing it to shatter into a million tiny fragments.

Huo Yuhao stood unaffected in the midst of the frozen darkness, his eyes burning with determination and resolve. The Domain of Perpetual Ice continued to spread, engulfing the entire room and encasing Xian Chong in an icy prison.

As the ice crept towards him, Xian Chong's expression changed from arrogance to shock. He struggled against the rapidly freezing ice, but it was futile. The Domain of Perpetual Ice is one of the most powerful soul skill of the 400,000 year old Ice Empress, one of the Great Soul Beasts of the continent. Huo Yuhao could only exert 5% of its true power and just using it had consumed more than half of his soul power.

Huo Yuhao's eyes gleamed and he quickly sprinted towards him, Frostbane in hand.

'I have to quickly finish him off before he breaks out and uses his seventh soul ring ability!'

With a swift and powerful strike, Huo Yuhao aimed to end Xian Chong with a single blow. However, just as Frostbane was about to make contact with Xian Chong's body, a blinding explosion erupted from within the ice prison.

Huo Yuhao was blown back, his body covered in frost and wounds. Xian Chong stood before him, covered in frost and blood, most of his soul rings shining up.

"Hahaha! Good, good! This is it, this thrill, this excitement! Oh, to think I'd feel this way from a pubescent boy." Xian Chong cackled with a terrifying grin.

"Sorry, but you're not my type." Huo Yuhao grunted as he staggered to his feet.

The grin on Xian Chong's face widened. "Oh poor, but I wasn't talking about that kind of excitement. I'm talking about the excitement of battling a worthy opponent, someone who can push me to my limits and make me feel truly alive! And shockingly, it'd be someone with merely three soul rings albeit of the highest quality than anyone else in this world."

"Heh, well aren't you kinda embarrassed you've been pushed around by someone of the younger generation with a lower cultivation strength?" Huo Yuhao said while inwardly trying to think of how to defeat Xian Chong.

Xian Chong smirked, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Embarrassed? No, quite the opposite, actually. I find it exhilarating. It's been far too long since I've encountered a worthy opponent like you, one who can challenge me and keep me on my toes."

He brought his hands together, his seventh soul ring emitting a powerful dark aura.

"How about a little bet? Even though I don't feel embarrassed of fighting you, it is still uncomfortable for me to fight someone who hasn't reached their full potential. If you can last 30 seconds with my seventh soul skill, I'll walk out of here, won't bother you or your little girlfriend, and I'll come find you in three years to fight you once more. Deal?"

Huo Yuhao narrowed his eyes, determination shining in them. "Deal."

Xian Chong's lips widened, showing off his pearly white teeth.

"Release..."

Btw, I just read the review and someone said that this was a Naruto crossover and I'm going to make this clear, no. Aside from having the Sharingan, jutsus, the soul of Indra, and the Akatsuki name being used here, there would be no crossover between Naruto and Soul Land. This just my personal opinion, but I consider something a crossover between franchises a crossover when two worlds' stories mixed in and or the characters from each world interact. Like what happened to that crossover between Marvel and DC.

I am making this clear, would be no Naruto characters appearing here(except for Indra) or would Huo Yuhao get transported into the elemental nations(except in the epilogue or an omake).
