Chapter 80: Run Away

"I HOPE YOU SLIP AND DIE, YOU BASTARD!!!"

Tang Ya looked up in disbelief at Ye Guyi, who was hurtling towards her and the Thunderclap Ox King. She couldn't believe that Huo Yuhao had also thrown her into this dangerous situation.

But considering he had also just did that with her, she shouldn't be surprised.

'But why did he send her to me? He knows that angel bitch won't work with me...'

As Ye Guyi neared the Thunderclap Ox King, she activated her martial soul, golden light began swirling around the user, twisting and shifting as a pair of white wings extended from its back. The Holy Angel, one of the rarest martial souls in the continent. Angels are said to be descendant of the Seraphim Martial Soul, a once supreme level martial soul that gave the user a chance of godhood.

But it all changed ten thousand years ago when someone with the Seraphim martial soul and part of the infamous spirit hall had ascended to Godhood, becoming the Angel God, picked a fight with the leader of the Shrek Seven Monsters; Thousand Hands Douluo, Sea God Tang San and lost.

Ever since the Angel God's defeat, there has never been another Seraphim martial soul ever recorded in the last ten thousand years. However, another grade of the Angel martial soul was found – the Holy Angel, the inferior replacement of the Seraphim as this martial soul had higher affinity than average Angel martial soul with the holy element and could grow up to five pairs of wings.

Ye Guyi was the heiress of the Angel Clan, not because she was the daughter of the clan's leader but because she possessed the Holy Angel martial soul. Moreover, her Holy Angel was the most pure in history: awakening with 2 pairs of wings.

As she approached the Thunderclap Ox King, her wings flapping gracefully, she felt a surge of power coursing through her body. She focused her mind, her first soul ring lit up and a yellow glow surged throughout her body.

Holy Light Illumination!

With a burst of blinding light, Ye Guyi unleashed a barrage of holy light rays from the sky, illuminating the area. The rays of light formed intricate patterns as they descended upon the Thunderclap Ox King, causing it to stumble and dust to gather.

Ye Guyi looked down at it with an arrogant smirk, obviously proud that she had managed to deal considerable damage to such a powerful soul beast, but instead of continuing with the attack, with a beautiful flap of her wings, she turned around and started to fly away.

There was no way was she going to help out these crazy, evil people!

'Just you bastards wait, I'll find the empire's police and return with an army to bring justice upon you two!'

"Idiot." Tang Ya muttered looking at the fastly fleeing Ye Guyi with pity. That's right, pity!

If it were any other person, Ye Guyi would've certainly escape with how fast she was flying. Even with her 2nd level Purple Demon Eyes, Tang Ya could barely make of her blurry figure.

But before Huo Yuhao's Sharingan eyes, unparalleled throwing weapon skills and lightning fast speed...

She can't escape.

"Hmm. So that's what her holy light element could do..." Huo Yuhao coldly smirked before disappearing in a flash.

Ye Guyi was just thinking on what direction was the capital city when a chilling wind suddenly enveloped her. She felt a presence behind her and turned her head, only for her to see the world around her turned blurry and dark.

The last thought she had before going unconscious was, what was that?

It was, of course, Huo Yuhao. With his Sharingan eyes he was able to track Ye Guyi's movements. He moved swiftly through the air, closing the distance between them in an instant.

Huo Yuhao, with a relaxed expression, had appeared in midair for a moment to swiftly deliver a powerful kick to Ye Guyi's back without any hesitation.

The force of the blow sent her hurtling towards the ground, crashing into the earth with a loud thud that echoed throughout the area. Dust and dirt flew up into the air, obscuring the sight of Ye Guyi on the ground.

Tang Ya was too far to see what had happened but she could pretty much guess of what just happened. Though she really dislike Ye Guyi, she couldn't help but feel sorry for her.

'Welp, she got what she deserved.' Tang Ya thought to herself, shaking her head.

'Yuhao really has no mercy towards anyone, even if they're girls. I pity the one who becomes his girlfriend.'

Huo Yuhao landed gracefully beside Ye Guyi's fallen figure, face down and ass up. It was a comical and humiliating sight. He looked down at her with a blank expression, his Sharingan still activated.

"So, ready to comply?"

"..."

"Stop playing dead, I know you're awake."

"..."

Huo Yuhao let out a frustrated sigh, "Alright, you asked for it." he started walking behind her rear, raising his right hand, and landed a sharp spank on her thicc ass.

Ye Guyi yelped in pain and surprise, quickly scrambling to her feet. She shot Huo Yuhao a glare, her eyes filled with anger and humiliation.

"Pu! You bastard!" she shouted, her voice filled with venom as blood trickled down her mouth. "How dare you treat me like this! I won't stand for it!"

Huo Yuhao simply smirked in response, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "Oh, I'm sorry," he said mockingly. "I didn't realize you were so delicate. I guess I'll have to be a bit more gentle with you."

Ye Guyi's face turned bright red with anger, and she charged towards Huo Yuhao with a fierce determination. However, Huo Yuhao easily sidestepped her attack, causing her to stumble past him.

But she quickly recovered, fuelled by her determination and anger, despite the aching headache and broken bones in her body, she firmly stuck her foot down and pivoted to deliver a fierce kick towards Huo Yuhao, who easily caught it.

"I'm not done yet–!" Ye Guyi yelled, cutting off her words as Huo Yuhao let out a sigh and the three magatamas in his eyes spun.

"No, you are. You're done."

Ye Guyi could only helplessly stared at his eyes and went unconscious from the sheer force of his gaze. Huo Yuhao released her foot and watched as her body crumpled to the ground.

He looked down at her from a moment, contemplating if he should just leave her be, but he let out a sigh and scooped her up in his arms before heading back towards Tang Ya.

"All in the name of science." He grumbled.

"...Yuhao, why don't you just brainwash the girl?" A cold, domineering tone of voice sounded in his mind. It momentarily caused him to freeze, pun unintended.

"Ice Empress? You're awake?"

"Mmm. Although far from my peak, I'm now at my optimal condition to be awake and help guide you." Ice Empress said, her cool voice echoing in his mind.

"What about Ancestor and Skydream? Why are they not awake yet?" Huo Yuhao worriedly asked.

"Your Ancestor wants to continue hibernating to save up enough energy to save you when something unexpected happens, and as for that idiot..." Ice Empress let out an exasperated sigh. "He's just being lazy and wants to remain sleeping for a few more weeks."

"As expected of Brother Skydream..." Huo Yuhao's face twitched.

"So, about my question..."

Huo Yuhao paused for a moment, considering the Ice Empress's suggestion.

"No, Ice Empress," he finally replied. "You know how far I'll go to achieve my vengeance. If I can get my hands on those bastards, I wouldn't hesitate to even become a devil, to lay waste upon the land with ice and fire. But... I don't want to become a monster. I don't want to lose myself in the pursuit of revenge, I've seen how it does to someone. I just... don't want to cross some lines, especially taking someone else's free will."

"You do know that sounds contradictory, right? You say you wouldn't hesitate to become a devil, yet you don't want to become a monster? What's the difference between the two?"

Huo Yuhao weakly chuckled, "Don't know, really. The words just... came out of my mouth is all. I'm still trying to understand myself."

Ice Empress remained silent for a moment before conceding. "Very well, Yuhao. I understand and respect your decision. Just be careful. This girl seems determined to resist you."

Huo Yuhao smirked and said, "Yeah, she's a feisty one. But don't worry, I've dealt with worse. I'll make sure she sees things my way soon enough."

"Now then, let's see how Tang Ya is doing." Huo Yuhao hummed as he darted across trees before appearing back on his previous spot. He created a hammock a couple feet below him where he set down Ye Guyi, bounding her hands and feet with ice.

"Do you really have to come up here? Your Spiritual Detection encompassed the entire forest, you can clearly see how she's doing dozens of meters away from here on the ground." Ice Empress observed, her voice filled with curiosity.

Huo Yuhao shrugged. "I came up here to give her emotional support, also that I can swiftly intervene if something goes wrong. Oh? Looks like she's finally going on the offensive."

Tang Ya slowly breathed out, easing out the tension of her muscles and emotions. She took a deep breath in and then out, cheering herself on, she then turned back towards the Thunderclap Ox King.

Blue electricity crackled around the Thunderclap Ox King in a five mile diameter, the entire grass and other plants surrounding it had turned black and withered. The Thunderclap Ox King snorted in anger, its eyes filled with a cold, menacing light. It looked around in a frenzy, looking for that winged human who dared attacked it.

Thankfully Tang Ya had moved to a more further rock when the Thunderclap Ox King started its rampage, so she wasn't in immediate danger. But that didn't mean she was safe.

She surveyed the area, looking for any sign of Ye Guyi, but she couldn't see her anywhere. She frowned, wondering where she was. Did Yuhao kill her? Or did he just seriously injure her?

'Looks like I'm really doing this on my own,' Tang Ya's face twitched and she let out a resigned sigh. 'Great, just, great.'

She turned back towards the Thunderclap Ox King, hesitation in her eyes before it was replaced with determination. She couldn't let fear or doubt cloud her mind now. She had to focus on the task at hand and defeat the Thunderclap Ox King!

"Fuck it, let's do this!" Tang Ya took a deep breath and activated her martial soul, just as she took out a couple of round smoke bombs out and threw it towards the Thunderclap Ox King.

The smoke bombs exploded, creating a thick cloud of smoke that surrounded the Thunderclap Ox King. Tang Ya took advantage of the obscured vision to swiftly move closer to the soul beast, her movement like a gust of wind...
