Chapter 5 — Sword Dojo (1)

Ning had already travelled for five weeks at the outside world with his curiousity never lowering.

He had seen and experience many things he couldn't do before as he went to several villages and towns by carriage and sometimes by his own feet.

The spatial storage was overflowing with money so Ning Chen didn't have to worry about his expenses.

He also didn't wore any of his expensive clothes and instead started to use common-looking clothing's to not attract any unwanted attention.

But he still attracted people eyes due to him being good-looking.

While travelling for these past five weeks, Ning Chen had tasted many unknown foods that made him have foodgasm and had seen many ordinary mortals living their life to the fullest.

He saw many unfortunate peoples suffering from hunger and poverty which resulted to them eating mud and spoiled foods in the trash.

There were also some people who were being abused helplessly from peoples that were stronger in both strength and status.

All of them shared one thing in common and that was they lacked strength and determination to change their fate.

This time, Ning Chen came to truly understand the real reason why strength was important in this world.

Learning things from books and experiencing things himself in personal was different after all, but it doesn't mean learning from book is entirely bad.

Ning Chen was somehow glad that he left the clan and came to see many new things that made his mindset change greatly.

...

It was early in the morning. The blue sky was very bright and devoid of any clouds.

Ning Chen was currently inside a carriage, sitting cross-legged while cultivate his spirit power.

He was slowly nearing rank 10.

After becoming a spirit master, Ning Chen changed his everyday routine. He would now cultivate his spirit power everyday in the morning and training his body at night.

He would also occasionally read some books whenever he have the time.

Ning Chen was currently heading toward a place called the Serene Sunset Village.

He was going toward there because of Grandpa Sword's recommendation to enter a strong and mysterious Sword Dojo which was located there.

Grandpa Sword said that the Sword Dojo was the perfect place to perfect his basics to the extreme and learn sword techniques. It was also filled with many powerful sword spirit master.

Ning Chen wanted to go there immediately because he needed to learn how to wield his sword properly.

Currently, he was like a brute that only knows how to swing his sword like a wooden bat.

Ning Chen arrived at the village entrance by the time It became noon.

He noticed the village looked nicer than the other villages he had seen before. He walked down the concrete main road, seeing many houses and people each other their own businesses.

Ning Chen asked them about the Sword Dojo's location and heard it was located at the very top of the mountain located near the village.

He thanked them and then took the path leading toward the mountain, but after walking for a while, he stopped after hearing a commotion happening in the woods.

Ning Chen saw far-away from him, there were four boys with a wooden sword at their back, standing infront of a delicate-looking young girl.

The young girl's appearance could be considered as the epitome of being ordinary, but her black-purplish eyes were very beautiful and were like a shining obsidian.

There was also an unique charm around the young girl that captivated Ning Chen's heart.

Ning Chen stared at them and they looked about the same age as him. He then realized none of them were emmiting a single hint of spirit power and were just ordinary mortals.

The current situation looked very tense and unfair for the young girl, but Ning Chen first observed the situation before deciding to do anything.

He couldn't just jump into action without knowing anything since there was a possibility that the young girl might be the one in wrong.

There was also some part of him that didn't wanted to get involved in this mess.

"I have taken a great liking to your beauty. Be proud as you can be one of my harem," said the boy who was in the middle of the group.

He seemed to be the leader of the three.

The girl expression didn't changed and plainly asked, "What will you do if I refuse?"

"Then I will use force to make you submit!" He yelled, grinning childishly.

"You're dreaming too much, ugly bastard! No one in this world would like to be your wife," The young girl looked at the boy in disgust.

The leader's face quickly became entirely red. He quickly snapped upon hearing those mocking words.

He quickly took out his wooden sword.

"You! You're courting dead!" He yelled loudly, losing himself into his emotion called anger.

The boy slashed his wooden sword vertically toward the girl.

Ning Chen was startled seeing this, he didn't expected things to get heated so quickly.

He was not able to make it in time to save the young girl and could only watch as the sword neared her.

"Heh! I'm courting death because he's much more handsome than you!" The girl ridiculed while observing the sword.

"Your attack is too obvious after being blinded with rage," She said disdainfully while simply kicking toward the boy's private part, not letting the wooden sword hit her.

"Agh!" The boy was sent rolling on the ground, grabbing onto his little brother while letting out a howl filled with pain.

His sword fell to the ground.

The boy looked at the young girl with shock evident in his eyes which had some few tears leaking out.

The kick was simply too fast and vicious, as if she had practiced with this move for countless time.

"Scram out from my sight and reflect on your attitude! If I see you brats acting like a bastard again, I will destroy your ability to make future descendants!"

The young girl spouted viciously. She picked up the wooden sword and pointed it toward the boy's crotch.

"Y-yes! I'm sorry...!" The boy gulped down his saliva as his balls shivered in fear.

He quickly ran away from the scene along with his henchmen who couldn't believe their boss lose so easily.

Ning Chen was dumbfounded after seeing what happened in the end. He didn't expect the situation to turn like this.

The young girl sighed before looking at Ning Chen's direction.

"How long are you gonna stare at me?" She asked loudly.

"E-Er... Sorry. I happened to arrive here and was about to try to save you, but it looks like I didn't need to," Ning Chen said awkwardly since in truth, he was late at trying to save her.

"Wait..."

The girl didn't seemed to care about that and just stopped moving after realizing something.

"The thing that occured earlier was definitely the damsel in distress cliche that always happened in every fairy tales. The knight in shining armor will then arrive to save the damsel and then the two will fall in love, but.." She muttered grimly before looking at Ning Chen with a sorry look.

"Boy, I'm very sorry for destroying your dream and hope of being a knight in shining armor so early..."

"The heavens is just too cruel to you. It made me brave and strong..." She shook her head while sighing helplessly.

Ning Chen was speechless after hearing those words. He coughed lightly and asked her a question.

"Why did you let those boys away so easily?"

The young girl felt even more pain after hearing his words.

"It seems like you're resorting to changing the subject to hide your pain... I'm really sorry..." She said while bowing her head.

"I'm not feeling depressed or anything, so just tell me your answer!" Ning Chen felt this young girl was extremely weird and simply incomprehensible.

The girl stopped for a moment before looking profoundly at Ning Chen.

"There's no reason. I just find them as brats who haven't learned the consequences of their action. I also wanted to make them learn from their mistakes to become more responsible, but I don't know if it will work."

"I see, that's great," Ning Chen felt the girl in front of him was much more mature than him.

"What's your name?" He asked curiously.

"I'm Yu Liena. How about you?"

"You have a very beautiful name, Yu Liena. I'm Ning Chen, it's nice to meet you," Ning Chen introduced himself while smiling brightly.

His smile could even melt the heart of a cold goddess.

"Heh! Your flattery won't work on me," Yu Liena snorted while turning her head away to hide her flustered expression.

The smile was extremely dangerous as it caused her heart to skip a beat!

"Yu Liena, can you guide me to the sword dojo?"

Yu Liena looked at Ning Chen in surprise before nodding her head.

"Sure. An easy request."
