Chapter 25

Chapter 25 — Third Spirit Ring (1)

Ning Chen was disappointed seeing the power that his opponents displayed.

They were considered as the strongest of the younger generation, but they were quickly defeated by him even though he only used half of his strength.

It was normal for him to be disappointed as these people received the best treatment from the clan, making them formidable.

However, although they were very formidable, they also clearly lacked combat experiences and the proper technique.

Ning Chen then thought about something that his master would always say to him.

He was like a monster disguised with human clothing.

It wasn't really great being seen like a monster, but Ning Chen felt it was kinda true.

He was built completely different and was abnormally strong compared to the others of his age.

Ning Chen shook those thoughts away for now. He quickly left the stage because he wanted to spend more time with his sister.

After leaving, Ning Chen's unconscious opponents were quickly brought to the clinic to be treated.

The elders then began to endlessly praise Ning Fengzhi and Ning Xiao'er for giving birth to such an amazing son.

They were of course happy receiving all those praise, but felt the one who truly needed to receive those compliments was Ning Chen.

The two after all knew how much effort Ning Chen had poured to become this strong.

...

"There, all done! Ning Chen, how does it look?" Ning Xiao'er asked with a quite surprised expression.

Ning Chen was currently sitting on a chair and was looking at himself on the mirror.

His eye-catching long glossy pink hair was now gone and instead became short.

Ning Chen sized himself on the mirror and felt that he looked more handsome and manly compared before.

He had slightly looked like a girl because of his long pink hair before.

Ning Chen couldn't do anything about his hair before since he didn't know to cut it himself and eventually stopped caring about it.

However, Ning Xiao'er noticed this and said to shorten his hair to look more nicer.

Ning Chen didn't refused her since it was also quite annoying to have a very long hair because it needed a lot of care and would also sometimes interrupt him during training and battle.

Now that his pink hair became short again, Ning Chen suddenly felt very comfortable.

"My haircut looks great. Thanks, mom," Ning Chen thanked his mother.

"I'm glad that you liked it," Ning Xiao'er smiled tenderly and looked at the maid besides them.

"Please clean the room now," She instructed elegantly.

"Yes, madam," The maid nodded their head and started to clean room after they left.

Ning Chen went toward the garden next to the mansion along with his mother.

The garden was filled with many beautiful flowers and neatly arranged plants.

Ning Rongrong and Ning Fengzhi were also there and were standing on the garden.

There was also a guy alongside with them holding a brush.

"Oh, you two arrived at the perfect time! The painter had recently arrived," Ning Fengzhi said and then complimented Ning Chen about his new look.

Ning Rongrong stared at her brother in surprised.

He was already handsome before, but after getting his hair done, he became much more handsome that no one else can't seemed to compare to him.

Ning Chen was a bit embarrassed hearing their praise.

The four of them soon stood closely with each other in front of the painter.

The painter then started to paint seriously and quickly finished it because he was a master.

(I don't know anything about this(?)

This was a painting that perfectly captured the family's smiling face and appearance. It would also be one of the many things that would depict them being together even millions of years in the future.

The painting was also done by the world's greatest artist and was called 'The Family'.

...

Ning Chen travelled toward the Star Dou Forest using a carriage.

His goal was none other than to acquire his third spirit ring.

He was at first thinking of learning more about Sword Law and Sword Intent with his grandpa, but he decided to first acquire his third spirit ring.

Ning Chen also didn't need anyone to accompany him since he was strong enough.

It took him a few days to reach the Star Dou Forest and he didn't encountered any troubles unlike in the past.

Ning Chen was planning to acquire a spirit ring that specialized on defensive power.

The best defense is the best offense was a phrase he had learned from a scholar before.

He thought acquiring a defensive spirit ability would greatly strengthen himself.

It would significantly improved his ability to survive various dangerous attacks and deadly environments.

Ning Chen started to search for a suitable spirit beast with that plan in mind.

He was planning on absorbing another purple spirit ring and as for the black spirit rings? He would only be seeking death if he went for those.

Ning Chen searched throughout the outer area of the forest, but couldn't find any suitable spirit beast.

Being left with no other choice, he decided to go deeper inside the forest and his cautiousness increasing as a result.

Ning Chen soon reached the perimeters of the inner area and was able to see many high cultivation aged spirit beast.

This area was also unprotected from any organizations unlike the outer area.

Ning Chen stealthily roamed around the inner area with his eyes scanning left and right.

"Found it!"

The goddess of luck seemed to smiling at him this time as he was able to find the suitable spirit beast in less than a hour.

Ning Chen looked at a large and wide turtle in front of him.

The turtle's brown and slightly black shell was huge. There were also some huge protrusion at the center of it's shell.

It's cultivation age was clearly 5000+ years old.

The turtle was also known as 'Stone Shelled Turtle' and was famed for its unbelievable tough defensive prowess.

Ning Chen deemed this turtle very suitable as his third spirit ring.

The turtle had left his home to drink some water from a nearby lake.

He drunk the water from the lake and felt the cool water refreshing his throat.

The turtle stopped drinking after a while and was about to return home, but he suddenly saw a human walking toward him.

He quickly grew cautious as he knew that humans were naturally dangerous and their spirit beast race natural enemy.

All of the humans were evil and sinful, devouring all kinds of spirit beast to grow stronger.

That was what his late father said before dying at the hands of a spirit master.

Ning Chen looked at the brown eyes of the turtle and quickly expressed his motives.

"Become my spirit ring," Ning Chen said straight into the point.

The turtle growled deeply and was clearly adamant to become a spirit ring peacefully.

Ning Chen sighed quietly and summoned Kel'al.

This was fate.

Only the winner can take it all and live for tomorrow.

....

Sigh.... my school will finally start tomorrow again... too tiresome.... I wonder if grade 10 lectures are very hard....

Welp, the update might get messy so prepare for it guys.

(Also, please give me some ideas for the scabbard second ability. Something not too op. A simple one.)
