Xiao Chen's Second Visit

After expending all his efforts, the protagonist Xiao Chen finally managed to escape from the hospital. Glancing back at the brightly illuminated hospital building, he clenched his fists and gritted his teeth in determination.

"Wait, Lin Beifan. Next time, it'll be you lying in there! I, Xiao Chen, always keep my word!" he vowed with fierce resolve.

Feeling a sense of relief and contentment, Xiao Chen strolled through the flowerbed, only to collide head-on with a large, overweight individual.

"Boom!"

The impact hit Xiao Chen like a freight train. The force was so immense that he was sent flying several meters in an unnatural arc before crashing heavily onto the ground.

Coughing and wheezing, he felt a searing pain radiating from his chest, his internal organs protesting painfully against the impact.

However, the ordeal was far from over.

As the large, overweight individual plummeted toward Xiao Chen due to the inertia of their collision, Xiao Chen's eyes widened in horror. "No!!!" he exclaimed.

The full weight of the person crashed down upon him, causing a sickening crunch as his ribs, which had only just begun to heal, shattered once again.

In that moment, Xiao Chen felt a profound sense of despair wash over him. The world seemed to grow eerily silent around him.

Then, an intense surge of pain jolted his nerves.

"Ahhh!!!" The anguished cry echoed for hundreds of meters, eliciting sorrowful reactions from those who heard it and tears from those who witnessed the scene.

The large individual scrambled to get up nervously. "Are you okay? Did I hurt you?" he asked with concern.

"Why is it you again?!" Xiao Chen gritted his teeth in frustration.

The large individual standing before Xiao Chen was none other than the plump girl who had sent him to the hospital previously. Her sturdy figure was unforgettable to him.

"It's you again, what a coincidence," Xiao Chen remarked, eyeing her with surprise.

"Why are you here?" he inquired.

The plump girl lowered her head bashfully. "I feel like I'm too overweight, so I've been jogging at night to lose weight! Let me tell you, I've already lost 10 pounds, and the results are quite noticeable!" She beamed with pride as she shared her achievement.

However, upon seeing Xiao Chen's pale complexion and profuse sweating, her expression turned nervous and concerned. "Are you okay? You seem really uncomfortable..." she observed, her worry evident.

Anger flaring within him, Xiao Chen snapped, "Thanks to you, my ribs are broken again!"

Panicked by his words, the plump girl stammered, "Ah? Let me take you to the hospital!"

Xiao Chen panicked, pleading desperately, "I don't want to go to the hospital! Please, I beg you..."

"Why wouldn't you go? You're so badly hurt! Just be obedient, sweetheart!" the plump girl insisted firmly.

And so, despite his protests, the protagonist Xiao Chen found himself once again being escorted to the hospital, ending up back in his original ward.

The only noticeable change was the thicker bandages wrapped around his body, and the numbness that had settled deeper into his eyes.

He couldn't fathom why fate had brought him back to this place, despite his escape. It felt like a cruel joke, being sent back here in the same manner.

"God, why are you doing this to me?" he whispered in despair.

An hour later, Lin Beifan and Song Yuqing arrived at the hospital.

With concern etched on his face, Lin Beifan inquired, "Brother Xiao, how are you feeling?"

Gritting his teeth, Xiao Chen responded, "I'm fine, thank you for your concern."

"I told you not to push yourself too hard. How did you manage to leave the hospital? Look at you now, your injuries have worsened! You'll need at least three months of rest to recover properly. You shouldn't be running around like this in the future, you know?" Lin Beifan expressed both concern and reproach.

Xiao Chen glanced at him, feeling the weight of Lin Beifan's words. Not running around? Would it ever be possible to escape his grasp?

"Yeah, you should listen to Lin Beifan and take care of yourself properly in the hospital. A grown man like you should know better than to neglect your health," Song Yuqing added, her voice tinged with a hint of resentment. Their sweet and romantic date had been disrupted because of Xiao Chen's troubles, leaving a bitter taste in her mouth.

Suppressing his own frustrations, Lin Beifan sighed, "Let's not dwell on it too much. Just focus on resting well. Yuqing and I will take our leave now."

After speaking, Lin Beifan took hold of Song Yuqing's hand.

Xiao Chen was stunned. "You..."

"Brother Xiao, let me introduce you," Lin Beifan said proudly. "This is Yuqing, my girlfriend now! We've been spending time together these days and I've noticed how well you two get along, so I couldn't resist making it official!"

Xiao Chen seethed with fury.

"Kidnapped my fiancée and flaunting their relationship in front of me! Arrogant! Too arrogant!" he raged inwardly.

The pain in his ribs paled in comparison to the ache in his heart. Lin Beifan's actions had ignited a fire of resentment within him.

"Lin Beifan, I am at odds with you! From now on, it's you and me, and I'll make sure you regret ever crossing me!" he vowed silently.

"Let's get out of here. Goodbye!" Lin Beifan declared as he confidently led Song Yuqing out of the hospital.

"Ah!!!" Xiao Chen's enraged voice echoed throughout the hospital, reverberating with his determination to settle the score.
