By nightfall we were settled into our new home. A room within a house-sharing facility that compromised of 4 bedrooms and a shared kitchen and bathroom. The house itself was a bright, white building that was 3 stories tall with a small garden at the front. Our bedroom was on the 2nd floor and faced the rear garden that was paved over with concrete slabs. It wasn’t one of the best views to have but we weren’t planning on staying there long enough to enjoy it.
“Our new home,” Vazar came up behind me and put his arms around my shoulders. We both stood staring at our reflection in the window. The darkness of the evening provided the perfect backdrop to transform the window into a mirror.
“We really should be looking at options for a permanent home. Somewhere that is safe and a little isolated.”
“Hmm, I know of a few places like that,” Vazar bent his head low and nuzzled the side of my neck.
“Yeah, but do you know of any near the portal? It’s better we stay somewhere close by.”
