"I love you so much that I want to throw you somewhere where no one can ever see your beauty!"
Rick, the very first- first love and first boyfriend of Rhan pinches her cheek as he annoyingly smiles at his girlfriend. He's been trying to break up with her but due to her dense character, she never got the hint.
Rhan, the ever sweet and innocent, 20-year-old lady cutely groans from the painful pinch of her boyfriend. She was a bit offended when he said he wants to throw her, but as a usual view, she thought he's just teasing her.
Rhan never minds when she goes to his apartment, but for quite some time, she's having troubles getting in. He is either not home, his keys are lost, or that she can't open the door when she uses her own copy of his keys.
"How did you get in?" Rick asks as he let go of Rhan's red cheeks.
"Um, I told the guard downstairs that I left my phone here," Rhan rubs her cheeks to remove the pain while smiling at him.
Rick smiled at her forcibly as he secretly texts the guard to never let Rhan in his apartment ever again. He's been planning to tell her directly, but there's still a part of him that doesn't want to hurt her.
They both stared at the wall silently.
They've been together for seven years, yes, they flirted way too young. She's 14 and he's 15 that time. Ah, high school life. If only he can bring it back, he wouldn't ask the prettiest girl out. He thought she only liked him because he's a baseball player, but he got caught in a lovestruck fool who later made him the same fool she is.
But as they grow mature, he realized he wants to be alone for a moment. Without commitment, without responsibilities, without... her.
He sighs as he remembers the first championship game they won during his senior years, he has to spend the whole day with her because his teammates insisted on letting him be with his beloved girlfriend when in reality, he wanted to have fun with them. Rhan knew that time that he wants to go with his friends, but she wanted to have the day with him as well.
They both sighed. Rhan's getting tired with all the chase she has to do with Rick these past days. He's not so sweet like before. He rarely visits her at home. He texts once a day- it's when he asks if she got home safe and if she replies, he never replies back.
Even with her dense character, she still can feel. She just can think critically and take the hints.
"Hey..." Rick turns his head in her direction. He has this sad and excited face, well, mostly excited.
"Yep?" She knows, she didn't look at him and continues staring at the wall.
"Can we... stop this?" Rick asks.
"What? Me staring at the wall? Pft, no, it's so relaxing." She laughs it off, testing if he'll back down. Giving him time to think. Maybe he'll regret it, maybe she'll regret it.
"No, I mean. This," he pointed at her and him, "This, it's tiring." Rick scratches his forehead. How did he love a stupid girl?
"Oh," Rhan still didn't look at him. How can he be tired? All he did was run around avoiding his girlfriend.
She remembered how Rick used to follow her around and check on her every hour. He used to say that he'll never get tired but seems like people really can't keep their words.
"What 'oh', can you just answer yes or no?" Rick irritated asks. He furrows his brows and clicked his tongue, "Stop acting stupid, you're a valedictorian before."
"Yeah, before. I am stupid now, I don't know what happened."
"Rhan. I want to stop this f*cking relation we have. I don't want it anymore. You're tying me down. You even tie yourself down. Instead of studying, you're busy opening my door. Aren't you destroying yourself?" He sounds like he's at the verge of shouting at her. He stands up as he points at her disappointingly.
But he suddenly froze when he saw her crying, still staring at the wall. He pulls his hair, "What? We're now here? The crying stage where the girl cries and begs for his boyfriend to stay? If I want to stay I wouldn't ask you to stop this." He turns around as he exhales to calm himself. He didn't want to make her cry. She didn't cry even though her brother died. She didn't cry when her best friend spread gossips about her. She never cries. But why now? Is break up worse than death and betrayal?
"No, I thought you understand me. That's all." She stands up and took her bag. "That's fine, thank you for spending time with me. I really enjoyed it." She walks toward the door when she suddenly stops as Rick watch her with guilt, "By the way, I know you're dating that bi*ch, can't keep that stick behaved, huh?" She smirks as she opens the door to leave. Rick was left with that angry and shocked expression.
Break up is both death and betrayal. Rhan texted her sister as her tears stream down her face. She just bought the most expensive ticket to a baseball game to keep up with Rick. But now, she just crumples and threw it on the floor.
She's not dense, she just wants to cling to the last times she can have with the love she first had because she knows he'll become her first heartbreak.
"Where are you?" Rhan asks her sister on the phone as she wipes her tears while she waits for a cab.
"Lisa's party, why?" Rhia's voice can't be almost heard due to the background noises of shouting and music. Suddenly, Rhan felt an urge to be in that noise.
"Where? Can I come?" With that question, she didn't notice that it's the awakening of her party life. After three years, she became a comic artist but her partying never changed.
She dated multiple guys at a time and there's not a day that she won't party. It's only a miracle that she can pass her work before the deadline. Her sister became worried about her but all she can do is watch Rhan get over her first heartbreak from a guy who she thought understood her.
"All I want is someone who will make me feel like I am not trash! Mom and Dad always make me feel like I'm a nobody because I make comics!" She took a sip of alcohol as her vision gets dizzy. She's talking with an unknown man she just met around the party's corner.
"Aw, that's so sad, sweety, do you want me to make you happy?" She can feel his hands touching inappropriate places but due to her vision and lightheadedness, she can't do something. She tries to push him, but she's too weak. She already had too many drinks.
"S-stop," she said, stuttering. She had dated a lot of guys, but she was never disrespected because she chose good guys, the friend-type of guys to date.
"Come on, you want someone, right?" His face gets nearer every second to her face. She knows what's happening to her but because of her stupid action, she's stuck. 'Why are you so stupid?' she thought as her strength leave her body and suddenly, everything went dark. She lost consciousness.
"Aw, why now? This is boring!" He lets go of her and let her fall on the floor, "How can you be happy when you can't even fix yourself?" He left without even helping her.
People didn't notice because they are all gathered around the actors that the owner of the house invited. "What's up, crazy fellas!" One of the actors shouted as he stands on the glass table. People shouted and cheered while holding their drinks. Everyone is having a great time, except for Lix.
He just stands in the corner watching his friends shout their lungs out while dancing and singing. He's never a party person, he's an introvert and this events make him sick. He felt nauseous with the smell of the room and he feels like he's lacking air so he went to the other room but he got more nauseated when he saw a girl, getting up from the floor while vomiting.
He just slowly walks around the room avoiding her while covering his nose. Rhan wipes her mouth and then leaned on the wall and started to cry. She made a very ugly-shouting cry while hitting her chest.
"I hate my life! I just want to be happy! Why can't anyone understand that? I just wanted you to stay with me while I fix myself because I thought you understand me." She thought no one is in the room, her vision is still blurry and it's dark. The noise is quite faint in that area but she didn't realize that because of her headache. She pounds her chest thinking that it will remove the pain she feels.
Lix stops walking and got surprised by her words, "Everyone just wants to be happy, but this is not a place where you can find it," he went to her but she suddenly fell... on her vomit.
"YUCK! What the hell's wrong with you!" He made the most disgusted face anyone can make as he pulls her and carefully wraps her arm around his shoulders. If only she didn't fell on her vomit, she might be in a bridal carry.
He didn't want to catch attention so he walked around the house and went out using the garage. He placed Rhan on the passenger side and puts the seatbelts on. He noticed her tears are still flowing, "Ugh, if only you didn't smash your face with that dirt, I might be wiping your tears now."
"Hey, I have your pretty little sister, but she's not that pretty anymore because she's covered in her own vomit," he said to Rhia on the phone.
"What? Oh gosh, I am sorry Lix, I hope you won't tell anyone about this."
'Why would I? She's just like me, though I don't get drunk and puke.' He laughs, "Yeah, no problem." As he stops for the red light, he smiled while looking at the messed up comic artist. But the smell made him almost puke so he opened every window before driving.
"I didn't know I'd meet her like this," he said before turning off the call. The engagement happened a long time ago that Rhan might've forgotten about it. She was too drunk to think about it that she immediately said yes to her father. Even Lix was shocked because he asked Rhia to described him as a dirty old fat man.
"I wonder what will make you happy, Miss Rhan?"
Hey guys!
I hope you like the start of their story!
