Audition (Part 4)

"Welcome to your audition. I'll keep it simple; we will give you one theme and you have to act out something based on the theme we give you." One of the judges stated.

"You're not allowed to communicate this is purely ad-lib and whilst you have to act based on the theme you shouldn't forget what you're auditioning for you have to keep your roles as a pair of swans in mind." The other judge followed up

"Finally, you will both be allowed to pick a product from the line and that should be the focus of this audition whilst not making it too obvious." The third judge added on.

"Go pick your jewelry and we can start." The last judge concluded.

Nicole and the other girl walked to a table at the side of the room. On the table were three different accessories in front of both of them.

For Nicole; a glamorous gold crown with elegant designs, a wreath formed of black branches covered with golden flower carvings and a black tiara with delicate gold designs inlaid with amber gems.

In front of Nicole's partner; a small white crown with elegant blue designs, a white feather wreath with silver and blue strings and a silver tiara with blue sapphires.

Nicole already knew what she was going to pick but decided to pick after her partner. The girl soon reached out her hand and picked the tiara. In response, Nicole picked up the wreath and set it lightly on her head.

After they returned, the judges looked at Nicole with surprise. She was the first one to pick such a risky accessory. The two swans in all their previous commercials picked either the tiara or crown. The wreath she chose though looked lovely on her wasn't the image of royalty the brand followed.

The brand was a high-end brand that catered to the children of the upper-class family. Generally they only recently tried to aim for the middle-income group with their wreath designs but for head wear, their signature was still crowns and tiaras.

The wreath was a high-end model but it wasn't really popular.

The children of wealthy families nowadays always want to be the princess so for one to pick their less popular product they would really have to be courageous.

The judges didn't tell them this but what they pick now was what they would wear for the commercial.

To pick the wreath meant she had to put on a performance commercial worthy. Nicole was aware of this and it was precisely this she was aiming for. She wasn't going to be another face of the same commercial and product but she would start a trend to be remembered for.

The two of them stood there for a while before the female director announced, "Okay. Your theme is Love."

Just as she said this, a boy who looked around fourteen years old walked into the room holding 2 red roses.

The boy had sun-kissed blond hair, warm brown eyes, his feature delicate and soft, and his smile dazzling and sweet. He walked up to the girls before offering up a rose to each of them.

As soon as they took the roses he turned and walked out of the room.

As Nicole's partner was taking the rose she was blushing furiously whilst looking starstruck. When he left she lifted the rose to her nose and gave it a slight sniff before closing her eyes with a content smile.

The judges nodded as they watched her. Her acting was good, above average even, it wasn't spectacular but they truly felt like she was a girl in love.

Then they moved to observe Nicole.

As they did, the judges started to frown. Nicole's face was too stiff and it held no emotion. If anything, the deathly stillness of her eyes gave the judges a feeling of oppression like it was the calm before the storm.

The judges quickly shock that thought out of their heads feeling they imagined it.

How could such a young girl cause any waves?

Still they were disappointed. If the girl could at least put on some semblances of adoration or like on her face they would at least have a case to argue with the director but even that proved to be too much to ask for.

The judges sighed, they had found another flower vase; beautiful on the outside but empty on the inside.

Just as they were about to end the audition, Nicole suddenly crushed the rose.
