Audition (Part 1)

A smile spread across Nicole's cherry lips creating an even more enchanting image.

Those eyes belonged to the girl who won the role previously. Looking at her now, she didn't look like anything special. Dressed in a pair of black jeans and a similarly black t-shirt with black sneakers she didn't stand out much. She had braided her brown her in a simple ponytail and, even though her face was above average, it wasn't by much.

Still, she had one feature Nicole would never forget from the first time she laid eyes on them in that commercial. A pair of phoenix eyes which held the most enchanting amber pupils Nicole had ever seen.

Those pupils held a burning passion making them seem ablaze. They were beyond captivating. It caused one to slowly be drawn into them never able to turn back. In the last life, she wanted to see how far the owner of this pair of eyes could go.

Thus in this life, she would.

Nicole glanced at the girl one more time before closing her eyes again to rest.

Soon, it was time for the auditions. Everyone had to pick a number. They would be auditioning in the order they picked and it was a joint audition between a black and white swan with similar numbers. Hence, not only do you have to perform but, you also have to make sure your partner doesn't hold you back.

Also, the audition would be streamed to the waiting room so the other competitors could see your audition. This left many people curious. In turn, the director left a simple message, "If you can't surpass what you see, don't waste my time, the exit is open, see yourself out!"

The time of the auditions varied, some lasted five minutes, others less than that it all depended on how long the director could stand you for. The longest to last so far was surprisingly Veronica.

Her acting and style were sub-par. But her face really sells!

If you ignored everything but her face then her audition was actually pretty good. If there was anything Veronica was good at it was acting like a white lotus. All those years she completely fooled everyone into thinking she was an innocent white angel. So to give my brother face the director could settle for her. Still, Nicole had a feeling if her sister truly couldn't act to a certain standard even her parents couldn't get the director to give Veronica apart.

Additionally, the star of his commercial was the black swan.

An average white swan was even better to highlight the black swan but, a director like him would probably prefer if all his actors were top notch. So with the lack of exceptional participants, Nicole imagined that the position of the white swan in this life would also go to her sister.

Actually, Nicole hoped a black horse would appear.

If her sister lost her first audition and used their family to try and get the role, not only would she offend the director she might not even get the role in the end. Even if she gets the role when she sees the commercial and is usurped by Nicole after all her struggles her face would truly be a sight to behold.

Also, Veronica would soon get into the habit of relying on her family background. With a reputation like that she wouldn't get the important jobs and would remain a 3rd class star for life. Not only would she disappoint their parents, she would lose all her support from the really influential people as no one will invest in someone without promise.

Unfortunately, this wasn't destined to happen.

Veronica's audition marked the end of the first half of the audition and the second half would begin after the judging panel took a break.

Soon it was Nicole's turn.

When she heard her number she got up and headed for the door but before she could reach the door someone grabbed her hand.
