A TYPICAL KIM FAMILY DINNER

Memphis Entertainment, board room 3.

Director Lim's smile widened as Kim Ae-ri spoke, She like the CEO's new way of thinking. She was excited at the blueprint the CEO laid as it gave her ideas that she could use to promote Vixen. "Miss Kim's idea is wonderful, I can work around that and help promote Vixen too".

"I am glad that you got the, I will leave you to do that", Kim Ae-ri replied.

"October 13th is not so far, Miss Kim. Have you sorted out VIXEN's debut single and who will produce it? What is the point of promoting a half-baked group? If you would like, I could introduce a few producers to you. If you don't mind, we could give you a few of the tracks that never made it to ECHO's albums", The previously quiet director Oh said. He smiled smugly at her, waiting to see her embarrass herself but her response shocked him.

Kim Ae ri smiled, "There is no need to trouble yourself with that. You can keep the tracks to yourself director, I already have a Production team set up for Vixen. Ha-Jun will lead the Production team in charge of Vixen's debut mini-album.

"They are debuting with a mini-album?" He muttered.

"Yes, they are. You are so lucky to be part of the executive team that get to listen to it before the showcase", she gave a patronizing smile.

His expression stiffened, he was quiet for a few seconds. He clenched her teeth and nodded, his grip on his notepad tightened. They spoke about a few things concerning the artist under both management teams during the rest of the meeting.

No 26 Harcourt estate, 6:45 pm

Kim Hajun drove into his parent's compound after getting out of light traffic, he tapped the steering wheel silently with one hand while replying to a voice message sent by his Lyricist Marisol. They sent voice messages back and forth until they settled on a suitable solution.

He got out of his car when that was settled and walked to the front door, pausing briefly as he walked passes his sister's white LS. The Housekeeper Mrs Lee answered the door a few minutes after he rang the bell. She was an older lady in her sixties, dressed in a black maids uniform.

"Mrs Lee. it has been a while", he grinned as he stepped inside and hugged her.

"Hajun, you look too skinny. I hope you are eating well? It is a good thing you are back in the country, there is nothing like a good home-cooked meal" She shut the door behind him, took out a fresh set of slippers from the shoe cupboard by the door and handed it to him.

He mouthed thanks and changed into the slipper, She smiled as he looked up, "You are a little late, everyone is already seated. Go in, I will go get a fresh set of plates", She said patting his back fondly as she left.

When she mentioned how he was late, for a second he considered replying but decided against that and instead replied under his breath as she walked away, 'I am right on time.

He took in a deep breath and let it go before stepping into the dining room. As per tradition, his father sat at the head of the table In a light brown bottom-up long-sleeved shirt.

Chairman Kim set down his knife a leaned back on his seat, "Here comes the disappointment of the family, I was wondering when the Brutus that dabbed me in the back would arrive. What is wrong, my dear son? You must have gotten tired of running from your problems or is it because you have Miss Usurper to protect you. It is annoying how fond of hiding behind women, you are?"

Kim Ha Jun took in some breath and sighed, he clenched his jaw but gave up on saying anything more to his father as his gaze fell on his mother's pained expression. He bowed at his father, "Hello, Father".

His father glared at him briefly and then continued eating, Kim Ha Jun ignored him and walked to his mother who sat beside his father. He gave her a one-hand hug and a peck on her cheek, "Hey mum".

He touched her short wavy hair, "Your new hairstyle looks very nice".

"Really? thanks, Junnie", she blushed touching the ends of her hair. She frowned as she looked at him closely, "You are too skinny, Junnie. Please don't skip your meals and focus only on work. Take care of yourself, don't think too much."

Chairman Kim sneered and looked from his wife to his son, "Stop cuddling him, he should be ashamed of himself. What an embarrassment, how hard is it to keep a D-rate actress in check. What is so special about her, that he would be so hung up on her that he would go awol for a month. You are the reason he is so weak".

Hajun glared at his father, his hands balled into fists at his side, Madam Shin squeezed her son's hands gently. When Ha Jun looked down, she shook her head and smiled weakly.

"The food is getting cold, Junnie. got eat", she squeezed his hand and gestured to the empty seat next to his younger brother Haneul.

Hanuel gave him a sympathetic smile as he got seated, Ha Jun grinned and ruffled his younger brother's hair, "Hanuel! it has been a while. Let's grab a cup of coffee tomorrow, it will be my treat".

Before Hanuel could reply, his father slapped the table lightly, "You better let your brother be, Hajun. Do not interrupt his training, unlike you he actually has a future"

Haneul just glanced at his father and frowned, he pulled his head away from his older brother's reach and nodded, "sure, Hyung".

Hajun grinned, as his father's face darkened. Chairman Kim is a man that loves attention, for someone like that, ignoring him was a lot more painful. He glanced at his elder sister who sat opposite him.

They were both seated away from their father, this had to be their mother's way of preventing them from getting attacked by their father. The rest of the dinner went on quietly, well as quiet as was possible when dealing with a man as petty as their father. Apart from Chairman Kim making a snide here and there, the dinner went smoothly.
