25 Visit (8)

"I think I should go and talk to her for a bit Aunty," Stephanie said with a kind smile.

"You go ahead and talk with Mia. Take your time, and I'll be preparing for dinner. You should stay and eat dinner with us." Mrs. Hill said with a gentle smile and went straight to her shopping bag to buy some groceries.

"Sure, Aunty. I'd love to stay and eat." Stephanie replied and waited until Mrs. Hill went out of the door.

She then headed to Mia's room and knocked.

Sfx*knock knock knock*

There were no movements from the other side of the door so Stephanie talked first, "It's me, Stephanie, can I come in?"

There were sudden movements on the other side after what Stephanie said and the door opened slowly, Mia was peeking from her door while slowly opening it.

Stephanie couldn't wait any longer so she held the door handle with one hand and helped Mia flung the door open.

Stephanie thought Mia would be crying but her face did not seem like it, rather her hair was disheveled as if she rolled over and over again on the bed.

Stephanie smiled widely and said, "Nice hairstyle," and directly walked into Mia's room.

She looked around and nothing much has changed, what caught her attention were the 2 bunnies sitting together on the desk and the mountain of dog toys in a crate.

When Mia heard what Stephanie said, she ran directly to her bathroom to see what she looked like. She looked like a homeless person as her hair looked like a birds nest.

She fixed her hair and clothes before going out asking Stephanie, "What are you doing here?"

"I told you I'll visit Aunty on the weekend right," Stephanie said while looking at Mia with a scrutinizing gaze, her one eyebrow was lifted as if trying to figure out something.

"Oh yeah, I forgot," Mia said sitting on her bed.

"So what happened to you?" Stephanie said while pulling up the chair from the desk and sat across Mia.

"What do you mean?" Mia's eyes were rolling, not trying to look directly at Stephanie's inquisitive eyes.

"Don't play pretend. You didn't even notice I was talking with your mother when you came in." Stephanie said looking at Mia with a grin.

She kept feeling that she would be getting some juicy information in today's visit.

"Uhmm," Mia said while grabbing one pillow and fixing the wrinkles as if it's the most important thing in the world. "Promise me that you won't laugh..." Mia said while looking down.

Stephanie was still looking at Mia with a twinkle in her eyes. "Of course I won't, I'm your friend!" Stephanie said with full confidence in her voice.

Mia looked up at Stephanie and looked at her sincere face. Mia thought that this was the first time she could talk with another girl and share her embarrassing moment earlier on, so Mia explained everything while looking back at the pillow in her hands, she did not notice the shoulders of Stephanie trembling while she suppressed her giggles.

After her story, Mia looked up to see a Stephanie that was red in the face while tears were almost on the verge of falling from her eyes.

"You said you wouldn't laugh!" Mia said while looking at Stephanie's reaction, she could not stay mad as Stephanie looked funny.

She was suppressing her laughter and her face was already red. It seems a vein would pop up her head any moment if she kept suppressing it.

"I'm sharing something embarrassing and you're laughing!" Mia said while throwing the pillow she was holding in her hands.

Stephanie caught the pillow with a giggle and said, "It's not so bad."

Stephanie was silent for a moment before saying, "So you like that doctor?"

Mia, on the other hand, grabbed another pillow and said, "Yes."

"Then why haven't you confessed to the guy?" Stephanie asked.

"You've known him for almost two years, didn't it crossed your mind to ask him out on a date?"

It seems Mia was taking her time thinking of an answer to Stephanie's question when she heard another question from Stephanie, "He's not married, right?"

Mia suddenly looked up and said, "I don't think so?"

"Huh, you don't know if the person is single?" Stephanie was wondering if Mia really likes this person, it might just be admiration. My brother still has a chance.

"He doesn't have a wedding ring," Mia said shyly.

"I mean, he works as a doctor. Maybe he removes it for work because it's a hindrance." Stephanie said.

Mia looked up and said, "That actually makes sense."

"What do you actually know about the person other than he's a vet?" Stephanie asked.

Mia thought long and hard before realizing that aside from liking animals and being gentle with them, she doesn't know anything else about his personal life.

"Are you sure you really like him? You barely know the guy." Stephanie said while putting pressure on her questions.

She looked like a hyena who has found a prey.

"I think I like him," Mia said now being a bit confused with her answer.

"So do you imagine yourself kissing him? Not a friendly kiss but an intimate one." Stephanie got closer to Mia as if she did not want to miss Mia's answer.

Mia's face suddenly blushed up to her ears.

Oh, my poor brother, I think you will be having a hard time wooing Mia, Stephanie thought to herself while looking at the expressions Mia was making.

Stephanie did not want to give up and ask a question once again, "So you only like this guy? There aren't any guys that you like?"

Mia thought about Stephanie's question for a bit before answering, "None that I could think of."

"Are you sure?" Stephanie wanted to make sure.

"I don't understand what you mean," Mia said.

"Never mind. If you really like this guy then go for it. As what your mother said, you are not getting any younger." Stephanie said with a giggle.

"You're one to talk!" Mia said. They both looked at each other then laughed after a while.

"So I'll be staying for dinner, let's talk till then," Stephanie suggested.
