“Don’t forget the let’s-forget-this-night-ever-happened sex,” Gideon added.

“And the thank-you-for-getting-rid-of-the-demon-messing-with-my-head sex.”

“That sounds good. All three sounds good.” Jesse thought they could add thank-you-for-not-killing-me sex to the list. And I-was-really-scared-and-I’m-so-happy-you’re-back-to-normal sex. “We can top it off with some old-fashioned I-love-you-so-much sex.”

Emma smiled softly. “The best kind.”

“Yeah.” Gideon caressed Jesse’s jaw before he dropped his arm back down to rest on Emma. “Just promise me somebody will watch my back in case Michelle changes her mind. The way you two get me worked up, I might not notice it if she sneaks in with a stake.”

“I’ve got your back,” Jesse promised.

“Me, too,” Emma said softly.

“See? We both do.” He took a deep breath and yawned again. He sank deeper into the mattress, his eyes falling shut. “Always will.”18
