1 Dominic

For as long as I can remember, I was able to see ghosts. They were bullying me a lot when I was younger. Making fun of me, stealing my clothes and hiding my favorite toys were just some basic things they were doing every single day back then. When I talk to my mother about these ghosts, she was just holding me tight trying to explain that this is just my imagination. But they were real, I knew it. They were so many... Of course, there were friendly ghosts too even though I cannot remember their names anymore. I still remember this uncle near the playground. One day, I was swinging and watching them, the ghosts. They were teasing other children who couldn't see themselves. Then my swing was suddenly accelerated, and when I looked back, one of them was yelling at me while pushing my swing real hard. I was so scared and crying, trying to find the uncle. Because he was the only adult I could find nearby. There was not any uncle sitting there in the same place but there was someone else. He was staring at me with empty eyes. I've never seen anything like this before. His hair was purple and his eyes were yellow. His gaze was empty but warm. I wiped my eyes real quick.

"Uncle, where?" He shrugged.

"Gone." Then he looked at me carefully. "You fell down?" I shook my head.

"In the park, they hurt the others. They pushed me hard. I was scared."

"Come on, let's go to your home then. Your knees are bleeding." When I went home, my mother was angry at me when she saw my knees bled. However, I was looking at "him" and smiling. He was wandering around the house. "Can I go to my room?" I asked without making my mom more nervous then she is.

I went to my bedroom and I saw him sitting down on my bed. His eyes were different from the others. It was bright yellow.

"What is your name?" I asked.

"Dominic," he said while looking at the pile of aid bands on my knees. He was not looking enthusiastic like other ghosts.

"I am Sophie! Nice to meet you!" Finally, he was looking at me.

"How old are you, Sophie?" I showed five fingers.

"Sophie is 6 years old!" Now he was chuckling.

"Sophie is not afraid of us?" He was now hugging to my bear.

"No, I am not! In Sophie's room, there are 4 or 5 of them usually but... Where are they?" He was smirking but I did not understand why.

"Does Sophie want to stay with Dominic then?" I do not know why but I wanted to stay with this ghost.

"Yes," I said while giving to him my favorite bear. "Always?" I asked.

"Always," he answered while taking the bear.
