Yannis Griffith's handsome face was calm, yet there was a hint of loneliness in his eyes.
Her saying this was creating an invisible distance between them. She was severing his hopes or maybe, she had never thought about it in that way.
Sometimes Yannis wondered if he were to be a little more proactive, would they even manage to remain friends?
They dined quietly together, making idle chit-chat and talking about the past. He occasionally mentioned that person, whose mention made Cherish believe she could laugh and cry at the same time.
Every time this happened, Cherish would stop what she was doing and listen attentively.
"My brother has always been a man of few words," Yannis paused, seemingly skipping over something before he solemnly continue, "Later, that changed and he started speaking more."
Cherish focused her gaze, her demeanor unusually sombre.
"My brother decided to move to the United States. It's more fitting for him there."
