Containment Breach #1 (Omake)

There was something ominous about site 19. The fact the Foundation refused to tell me where it was, and had in fact carried me here in a car with no windows should have told me something very wrong had happened.

(By order of the O5 council, SCP-12725 will be persuaded to help site-19 with its recent containment breach. Its friendship with Dr. Bright means emotional manipulation can be used if necessary.)

I wasn't really worried though. Breaches occurred all the damn time. Either an SCP surprised the Foundation, or some asshole from the chaos insurgency tried something again.

(SCP-12725 will not be given details about what breached containment. SCP-12725 will not be allowed to know where site-19 is located. SCP-12725 will be ordered to attempt to control the breacher for as long as it can, and if possible to contain the escapee by itself.)

Complete breaches were always a pain. Usually when it occurred the Foundation had measures prepared to recapture any SCP before it even left the site where it was. Whatever had broken out here definitely escaped those additional procedures.

(In the event that SCP-12725 is unable to deal with the breach by itself, it and the rest of personnel will retreat further and will wait for additional instructions.)

This meant that while I had to deal with whatever escaped, and possibly a megalomaniac asshole, the Foundation would take its sweet time preparing another cell.

(If SCP-12725 dies or appears to be terminated. Send a message marked as urgent to the O5.)

The red light above me flickered as I walked through a hallway. There was blood all over the floor and bullet marks on the walls. This would have made me feel uncomfortable if this was my first time seeing so many obvious signs of combat.

(SCP-12725 is not to receive any kind of help in its endeavor. The Foundation will not risk worsening the situation by sending additional personnel into site-19.)

There was something that looked like tar lining some of the walls and the floor. Some human husks here and there were scattered through some rooms. My radio had stopped working once I got deep enough into the site.

(The O5 wishes you luck Director Bright.)

This was starting to look like the worst containment breach I had ever been at. The further I walked into the site, the more damaged everything looked. Some of the doors that usually separated areas appeared to have rusted. More and more bodies started to appear in each room I passed through.

Was the breacher some kind of time manipulator? I decided to prepare counter measures against any time manipulation, I dominated my own time, and asserted it into the present even more. Being thrown into the past was annoying. I hadn't been punched into the future yet, but I was sure it would also be annoying.

Now, if the damn site was a maze I could get this over faster and go back to watching some more Rick and Morty. I should have been more insisting when they said they couldn't give me more information about the situation or site. A map would have been damn nice to have. But hey, the pay was good, and breaches were usually dealt with pretty fast.

A scream reached my ears, and I decided to run towards the sound. Some poor sap was about to die a horrible death. It would look bad if the Foundation somehow discovered I could have helped an MFT and didn't.

I quickly reached the source of the screams and discovered an empty research room I walked in and tried to see who could have been screaming; I found no one. How annoying, was the SCP one of those who like to play with their 'prey'?

I turned to leave the room and discovered I was surrounded by the tar like liquid. Fucker… this SCP though itself some kind of predator. Luring me with screams and surrounding me. How cliche was it?

Suddenly I was pushed from behind, normally a push wouldn't have affected me. I felt like a car had crashed into me though, so I was surprised. I turned around as I was pushed and stepped onto the liquid. This was annoying, the wannabe hunter thought it could scare me. I was about to tell it to fuck off with its attempts at scaring me when I fell through the floor…

That was new, also a little bit dangerous, I will definitely be called an idiot by Rhianne next time we meet. I should have expected the possible time manipulator to have some semblance of spatial control though so that was on me.

I fell into what looked like a looping corridor. It looked quite similar to the backrooms, but instead of an annoying yellow color coating everything, this place looked like the inside of a haunted mansion. I give it a 5 out of 10. Too predictable.

Suddenly I was poked from behind with something that felt quite sharp. When I turned around there was nothing behind me. Just more doors leading to more rooms that looked exactly the same as the one I was in.

The candles that were illuminating the place slowly started becoming dimmer and dimmer by the second. It didn't matter though. I started manipulating the air around me so I could feel how it moved.

Nothing happened as the candles finally flickered and were extinguished. Why wasn't it trying to kill me more? Was the SCP going to leave me here and hunt for more prey in the meantime? Fuck that. I started dominating my place in reality and forced myself to appear in the room I was in before being pushed.

I finally saw the anomaly that had caused Dr. Bright issues. It was in the middle of leaving the research lab. It looked like a corpse. An old man rotting where he stood. Hey, I remember this guy. I think he was called 'the old man' or something.

It reacted way faster than what I expected. Its wide open, rotting, eyes snapped towards me as it jumped into a puddle that was right next to it.

What was this SCP's power again? Rotting everything right? How does rotting equal to rusted metal though?

The old man jumped towards me through a hole in the ceiling. Its hand reached towards my face when I decided to stop playing games with it.

The air around it it in its tracks, his hands bare centimeters away from my face. Hmm, maybe he did not rot things but decayed them. It didn't do it with time manipulation though. So maybe it just brought the concept of rotting into reality and affected whatever it touched?

The air around him deteriorated to nothing as he suddenly fell again and grabbed my face. It started cackling, its rotten lungs working overtime so its miserable ass could laugh.

Did it think it had won already? That I would decay that fast? What a rookie. I had already dominated my body and ordered it not to decay no matter what. Why would he think the Foundation would send some normie to contain it again?

Maybe it did not have higher mental capabilities? Huh, maybe it was at some point a reality bender that started dying and reality bent itself into a living corpse. With the side effect some of its higher functions like rationalization also rotting.

Its cackling stopped when I grabbed it by the throat and started walking towards the exit of the site. It looked surprised for a second until it realized what was going on. It screeched at me and started trashing when I reached into its stomach and pierced it with my hand. Its pocket dimension had to be connected to it, so I would just brute force myself into it and save all the trapped personnel by using it as a gate.

It did not stop screaming till everyone it had trapped was out and it was contained again.

I'm just beginning to realize how bad Webnovel's formating is. Had to change some things because I can't use italic and bold letters.

Alrighty, I think I did a good job with this one. I don't have any idea of how to write a story with a scary mood, but I tried my best. If any of you knows how to make the mood of a story actually scary please tell me, I suffered a lot trying to give the story some semblance of life.
