Confused as hell

"This way M'lady."

Extravagant.

The place was extravagant.

A castle- a castle made of crystals.

And within that castle, a woman walked.

Her steps reverberated throughout the halls.

Calm, quiet, tranquil. There were guards at every corner but no one- not a single soul dared to look up at the woman. All their gaze? At her feet…

Bluish black hair, turquoise eyes, and a cold stare…

She was in a white dress with blue frills and flowers covering up to half of her chest, keeping the other half on full display.

Sleeveless.

Though her chest was on display, it was protected by snow-white small scales. In fact, part of her wrists and even thighs were covered in scales. And maybe some other areas too…

The woman was being led by a man of age, half her size. And he walked with a cane. Tumbling from time to time.

"Are you sure about this?" The woman spoke. Her words, crisp and firm, almost sending chills down the man's heart. "Maybe it was a false alarm?"

"No M'lady, we've confirmed the existence of a system. Though of which origins, we're not yet sure," The man- the bearded man did stare back, but always kept his gaze low, never looking up at the woman. "The chances of its origins being on the evil side- is rather high, however; though we're still not sure."

"Well, then make sure. This could very well mean the destruction of the world as we know it."

They walked faster.

Though they were walking down the hall, to their left- was open space. High- they were quite the ways up- at least a few hundred floors.

Yet- tall trees still rose up- and so did flying wyverns…

"I will do my utter best M'lady."

The two stopped at the end of the hallway, in front of a large room.

Creak- the massive double doors opened.

They went in.

About a dozen or so people were in here.

All wearing white robes. And everyone's gaze was low, just like the bearded man and the guards behind them.

The room had a dome above, with blue and black glass- lots of decoration of a dragon eating the moon, a being scattering light- and a another- bringing darkness.

"All preparations are done, I'd assume?" the woman said-

"They are m'lady. Everyone is waiting for you."

"I see, begin."

The people in robes started chanting something in unison and the floor beneath their feet began to light up.

A circle formed and patterns appeared.

Letters of unknown origin and meaning- floated in the air.

"They're ready m'lady."

"Very well."

A knife formed out of nowhere and the woman cut her forefinger, letting out exactly two drops of blood- into the circle.

Bright!

Blinding even!

Light burst out- and within that light a shadow-

A man.

A success.

Eyes closed, the man appeared but a second later he opened his eyes, stared around and-

"I believe you should be able to understand my words," The woman said. "Listen, and listen carefully you have been sum-"

"Another world, YAHOOO!!!" The man actually started jumping around.

Exhilarated.

Red hair, a black t-shirt, and 3/4 leather pants.

But more importantly-

Why wasn't he shocked?

"When someone tells you to listen, you should listen!" The woman shouted and almost all of the men in the room crumbled to the pressure.

It was almost as though something invisible was pressing them down.

Almost all of them apart from the redhaired fellow of course.

He did sweat, but he wasn't crushed to the ground. His attention though was totally on the woman, or rather her eyes?

To say he was flabbergasted was an understatement. He couldn't even blink, let alone let out a squeak.

"Now that you've calmed down, you'd do well to listen." The woman shrugged, looking down on the man with pride. The pressure vanished. "This is a different world from the one you're familiar with. We've summoned you two as heroes. To deal with a threat to the world."

Only now did the man actually realize there was someone behind him on the floor all this time. The girl who'd also come from his world, to this one, just like him. But kind of unconscious.

Did he care though?

Not one bit.

"I see," He managed. "And you are?"

"Such insolence!" The old bearded man roared. "Lower your gaze you fool! She's the true queen of the twin moons! You'll be incinerated!"

The redhaired man though wasn't deterred in the least. Rather, he stared at her eyes and face even more. "Your name?" Almost as though he was… in a trance.

"Hamaniya, the eternal queen of the dragons. And you are?" The woman did look down on everyone, however, she still gave out her name.

Partly because she was intrigued how the man wasn't panicking even after being summoned to another world and partly because she needed his help regardless.

"I'm Slack, Slack Morgins. But that's not important." He came close and just in front of the lady, got on his knees, taking a toffee out of his pocket. "Wondrous beauty of the moon, would you please, marry me!?"

Both his speech and his conduct had dramatically changed from the moment he'd seen the woman. Even his tone had changed from casual to- something else entirely-

"Excuse me, what?" The woman stared. 'Is he joking?'

Meanwhile, everyone else was not just shocked but they were also staring, jaws out.

The man, Slack though grinned and looked up, straight at her eyes. "Would you please let me make you happy and share that happiness for the rest of our lives?" He was not giving up, no.

"You weren't joking?" Hamaniya finally realizing the actual situation, put her hands to her mouth, a bit shocked.

This was more intriguing than shocking though.

"Mmmghh?" Meanwhile the other summoned human, the girl woke up and stared around, awfully confused. She didn't have enough strength to stand up and no one was helping her.

Reason being?

They were too busy being statues-

"Of course not! It was love at first sight- no, it was more than that! My heart is pounding and my blood is rushing. Just seeing your eyes make me want to dive into them- Ah! Such magnificence! Such brilliance! Please, please, marry me!"

Hamaniya, the queen of the dragons- was said to be the most beautiful mortal woman in existence. So, it was natural people would fawn over her sublime beauty.

She was, however, though referred to as queen, single. And never did a man dare to ask her hand in marriage.

If anything, men were so frightened of her divine beauty, they'd run first thing just after laying their eyes on her. After all, most men would just perish upon witnessing her beauty. Which was also why, no one ever looked at her face while addressing her.

And yet this man-

"Wh-wha…" Hamaniya's face heated up a bit, and her heart skipped a few beats. To say, she was flustered- was again… an understatement.

"So, what say you?" Slack was still on his knees.

"What are you idiots even doing?" The other girl finally stood up, sighing and groaning a bit. "This is another world?" Her head throbbed, her legs shook a bit but- but she was not panicking or proposing at the very least.

Flabbergasted summoners, a shocked queen, the human waiting for his answer, and a lady confused as hell.

Sufficed to say, the holy palace of the capital city of Neblandia was suffering a grand day of chaos.
