Chapter 11 - Fighting a Siyokoy [2]

Lax dashed towards the nearest Siyokoy and beheaded him using his sword.

He kept doing that for a while, just killing one Siyokoy and then moving on to kill another.

After killing more than fifty Siyokoys, he finally met a strong opponent.

A Siyokoy with green scales with a little blue shining on them.

Their gazes went to one another,

"He is... strong."

They thought to themselves as they readied their weapons, preparing to attack at any time.

This time the Siyokoy was the first to move, and he dashed towards Lax at an incredible speed.

The Siyokoy used his trident and aimed it at Lax's head.

*Swoosh*

The trident missed as Lax bent backward and avoided it.

Lax then tumbled himself backwards and did a back flip to avoid the incoming kick of the Siyokoy.

After landing from his flip, Lax switches his sword for a spear so as not to be at a disadvantage in reach.

From his [Appraisal], he knew that this Siyokoy was ranked above him, but he wasn't afraid to fight, even though his opponent was not only Rank 3 but at peak level at that.

Lax infused his spear with energy, and a black aura radiated from it.

He then moved from his spot and arrived in front of the Siyokoy a moment later.

He slashed his spear diagonally from his right down to the left while bending his body to create more momentum.

*Clank*

The Siyokoy reacted quickly as he blocked Lax's spear using his trident, which was now also infused with energy.

But Lax wasn't bothered by it as he continued to slash and thrust at the Siyokoy, but the latter either dodged it or blocked all his attacks with its trident.

So even after a while, Lax still wasn't able to land any blows, but he continued, this time attacking with heavier blows.

*Clank*

*Clang*

*Clank*

The Siyokoy, after blocking Lax's consecutive heavy blows, felt his hands shaking from those attacks.

And his hands let go of the trident for a second.

Seeing that Lax used his spear to slash the trident to the side.

*Clang*

The trident flew to the side and pierced a nearby ship, and the Siyokoy widened his eyes in horror.

Using this opportunity, Lax kicked the Siyokoy upward.

While the Siyokoy was still in midair, Lax used his right hand to hold the spear and aimed it upwards at the Siyokoy's falling body.

"Arrg-...Bwaghhh!!!"

The Siyokoy tried to scream, but his voice was hushed as he vomited blood, and his body was hanging in the air by Lax's spear that pierced his chest.

And just like that, he died.

*Thud*

Lax put his spear back in his ring, and the lifeless body fell to the floor with a hole in its chest.

Humans nearby who saw this started cheering, and it increased their morale to see someone strong fighting with them.

However, that wasn't the same for the Siyokoys, as one of their leaders had just died, and they were looking at Lax in fear of being his next target.

Lax ignored their gaze as he went to look in a certain direction and moved.

In an area far away from the battle, a decisive battle was being held.

Two men were currently fighting against a Siyokoy with blue-green scales.

Even though there were two of them, they were still at a disadvantage against the Siyokoy.

Unlike other Siyokoys, who were using tridents, this one was using a sword and was much more powerful than them.

He was the Leviathan's right-hand man, and he was fighting the head and vice captain at the same time without even breaking a sweat.

"Captain! Let's hurry. The Sea King is fighting, and we don't know how long he will be able to hold out against the Leviathan."

The vice captain spoke.

"I know, but this one is stronger than both of us combined, so even if we leave to go to the Sea King, he will just follow us and fight with the Leviathan."

The head captain said and once again focused his attention on the fight.

He slashed, swung, and struck the Siyokoy with his sword, but to no avail, as his attacks all resulted in them being blocked or dodged.

The captain was running out of breath, and he was almost done, but for an instant, Siyokoy turned his head in a certain direction.

Using that opportunity, the captain swung his sword one last time with all his might, and it sliced through Siyokoy's chest.

"Haaa... haa... I finally landed a blow."

The captain muttered, and he looked at the Siyokoy again, his eyes widening in disbelief.

There he saw a mocking smile on the Siyokoy's face as the deep wound on its chest regenerated.

The sound of flesh being put back together resounded through his ears, and it sent shivers running down his spine.
