Chapter 342
The group ran through the forest. Suddenly in front of the group a small village beneath an overhanging rock appeared.
Thousands of people can be seen bustling around, but at a glance they aren't in good shape. They had green scaly skin that clung to thin skeletons.
Hundreds of them carried large bags of black coal on their back and had iron pickaxes swung over their shoulders.
''Go, kill them all.''
Samuel stared indifferently at the group. This was one of the barely qualified as a one star force. Samuel only found them for the Blood Guard to test their strength.
''Yes Family Head!''
The Blood Guards instantly shouted. Their bodies glowed with Spiritual Energy as they dived into the village.
''Huh?''
Inside the village, a middle aged woman was clutching a baby in her arms.
''No!''
But before she could react, a stern faced young man appeared behind her. His sharp sword pierced directly through her throat and into the body of the baby.
In another area a hunchbacked green skinned man wobbled out of a large building. His body exuded the strength of a first rank warrior, but he was instantly decapitated by a flying sword.
The massacre continued, before everyone was dead.
Samuel looked at the giant pile of corpses in the centre of the village and nodded in satisfaction. Especially when he looked at the 100 Blood covered young men.
''Very good!''
''Send these bodies to SS5. She should be happy to create some more undead. Let's go to the warehouse.''
Just as Samuel was going to lead the Blood Guards into the warehouse a sudden shout rang out across the village.
''What is this? Who was so brutal to massacre so many mortals?''
Samuels head snapped back only to see a middle-aged man skipping across trees before arriving at the village.
''Huh? Was it you?''
Seeing Samuel, the middle-aged man suddenly showed a maniacal smile.
''Since you're so brutal, there's no need for you to exist.''
''Oh it's just you?''
Samuel looked at the middle-aged man mockingly. He could clearly sense that his strength was only in the realm of High Rank 1.
''Go kill him.''
Samuel turned towards the Blood Guards. Instantly they dived towards the man, causing dust to appear as they ran.
However Samuels calm eyes gradually turned to shock.
''No! How is this possible?''
In front of him, the 100 BloodGuards had already lost five members?
''Why is he so fast?''
Samuel watched stunned as the man dived around at rapid speeds. Easily comparable to a Rank 2 Warrior.
And even more shocking was his attacks. He wielded a giant iron spear that swung violently around. Each impact would send dozens of Blood Guards flying.
''Enough!''
Samuel saw the losses increase to 10 and was distraught.
He first blasted forward and crushed the man in a single hit. But the impact was still in his head.
''Who is this man?''
Samuel pierced into his Spiritual Bag tied around his waist and pulled out a small jade token.
On its base a large pillar was engraved, reaching towards the sky. Dozens of half human half elf figures surrounded it as if worshipping a god.
Just beneath, the name Kellington Family was engraved.
''The Kellington Family!?''
Samuel read the name as dumbstruck. He didn't expect to meet a member of the Kellington Family here!
The Kellington family were one of the few families in the surrounding areas that are able to compete with the Rake Family!
And they know it. In fact, they are the current rival of the Rake Family!
The battle has been going on for years, and Samuel only receives few reports. However it clearly involves an exponential amount of people.
''At least that explains why his combat power was so high.''
Samuel was less surprised about the man's shocking combat prowess when he heard his origin.
Although he doesn't have a special Physique or a particularly high rank he is able to compete with 100 people at the same level and still kill some!
There's only one explanation. Boosters.
Samuel himself has collected a small collection of boosters, including bonus sword damage, increased birth rates etc etc… but none of this can compare to a strong family like the Kellingtons!
Undoubtedly, if Samuel hadn't taken action the man would've killed all the Blood Guards!
And Samuel knew a bit about the Kellingtons. They are a mostly spear based family.
Their two main expertise focus on speed and spear strength. Although it is likely that they have other boosters as well.
In comparison to Samuels mediocre 5% increase in sword attack, it is probable that they have hundreds of percent or even thousands! Able to raise even their ordinary warriors to another level.
''It seems like I need to pay more attention to boosters in the future.''
Samuel wiped sweat off his forehead.
He can't imagine what it would be like to face a million strong army of those men. Even his twenty million dogs of war would definitely be like paper in comparison!
Before he had heard some reports about boosters being sold on BlueStar or in Alchemy City. But he thought his money was better used in other areas, but now, it's different.

Samuel was no longer in the mood to harvest the treasury. Leaving one Blood Guard to collect it and return to the compound.

Samuel stood in front of a set of three hundred Brocade Guards and twenty Blood Guards. Beside him, Connor and Macy were held in the arms of two beautiful maids.
Lying inside Samuels space ring was a Middle Mortal Artifact. This was one of the more valuable things that the Lanford Family owned. Or the Dogs of War Organisation in this sense.
