OMAKE: A Star's Heart and a Doll's Soul...

Word count 528

Among a field of white, basked in moonlight, a Doll prayed.

It was a senseless act, for no one existed above the Great Ones. The act was a learned action from humans she'd seen and children who'd left the Dream. Yet, she pressed forward, drawing strength from the simple action.

How she wished she could do more for her dear Aeon…

For all the comfort and strength she'd gifted him, it hardly felt enough. For the Child who dared to dream beyond the Dream. For the Child who wished for Greatness. For the Child… whose existence she so deeply loved.

What could she provide, to match the priceless emotions he'd gifted her?

"Heart and Soul, I fell in love with you…"

The melody tumbled forth, drawn from the tunes the Good Hunter so enjoyed to hum and sing, when he believed no one was around. While she had no experience with singing, she didn't require any. For the emotion laden words spoke louder than any, laced with a profound [LOVE].

Alien, yet so beautiful, was it any wonder her audience could no longer remain silent?

"The way a fool would do, madly…"

The man of the hour stepped forth, clothed in his usual attire, rising from a crouched position, where trinkets that once weighed his arms laid. Freed from his cargo, he stepped towards the beauty, who knelt among flowers.

Thoroughly caught unaware, she could do nothing but gaze adoringly at his form, that drew ever closer. Her traitorous mouth, however, continued to speak, yearning for his touch.

"Because you held me tight…"

Coming to a stop before her and lowering himself onto a knee, Aeon stared into the lovely eyes of his Doll. Her eyes brimmed with Eldritch adoration, enough to drive men mad. Yet, for him, whose vision was clouded with the same affliction, it was but a mirror.

One of his hands grazed her cheek, causing her to unknowingly lean towards the palm of her beloved. As the action registered, drawing the slightest of blushes from her, he couldn't stop his next action.

"And stole a kiss in the night…"

As soon as the final syllable left his mouth, he had already encroached upon his prize.

Arm wrapped around her waist, he pulled her closer, until their lips met in a passionate dance. His brimmed with gratitude and a promise. For all she'd given him, he'd always return to her, despite death or tragedy. Her own, on the other hand, carried patience and understanding. Though they may be separated, she'd hold him in her heart eternally, waiting for his eventual return.

Together, under the watchful eye of the moon, they shared a vow. Unspoken, yet unbroken. Neither time or distance would ever keep them apart, for they were parts of a whole, who'd always find their other half.

Finally, after what seemed to be a timeless moment, they separated with heavy breaths. Together, lost in eyes and touch, they wished to stay forever in their own slice of heaven.

For a Hunter without his Doll would remain stagnant. And a Doll without her Hunter, would remain lifeless...
