She Did What?

After his aunt left the room he looked at Dr. Jihye who was still dumbfounded, wanting to laugh at how naive she was but holding it inside.

"Did you suffer too much without a father, kid?"

[Is she serious? Why does she want to know something that doesn't concern her? Okay, should I be frank or act as if I was an idiotic and fragile kid?] "Yeah, but please don't tell mommy, I don't want to make her worry. It's kind of hard, not having a dad. I saw all the kids in school having both of their parents and playing with their dads, but I never could. So, I felt lonely. I want to have someone who could be my hero like my friends have. But I'm not complaining, I love mommy, she did her best to take care of me. Even then, I still wanted to be raised with both of my parents." He forced the tears, which came easily as if it was completely natural and she fell for it.

"Oh, kid, can I give you a hug?" After sobbing for a while, he nodded and slowly approached her, who took him in her arms and gave him a warm bear hug.

[Okay, first of all, a good part of the kids in my school had separated parents, always staying more with their mother, and I've never felt lonely. How could I? I have mommy, aunt and I was popular because I was, and I am, the best of my age. There's also uncle, grandma, and grandpa. I didn't have friends, like, close friends, I prefer books. And my mommy is my hero, 'heroine' to be more precise. Damn, mommy, you will win tons of money if I star in any of your movies! I would make a wonderful actor. But I still want a dad, though.]

"I can't even imagine how that must have been difficult, kid."

[Neither can I. Oh dear, I want to laugh so bad, but I can't.]

She let go of him, and he slowly stopped the sobbing, annoyed by the sound he, himself, was making, which was also hilarious to him.

Her phone started making noises and Tae-tae thanked the universe for that. "You can go, doctor. Just tell me in which room is aunt Aeri and I'll go there by myself. Don't worry."

Dr. Jihye thank him with her eyes and nodded. "She's in room 310."

"Thank you, Dr. Jihye. See you!"

Then he left, running and worried about his mom.

"What the fuck was he doing here?" Aeri exclaimed and Dr. Minjee still couldn't believe how pissed-off she was.

"If I'm not mistaken, he's a personal friend of your grandparents. He was also the one who came here first after they brought them here. And he was also the one taking care of your family when you guys weren't here yet."

[Say what? What the fuck? What does she mean by saying that my parents and Seojin are personal friends? What kind of bad joke is that?] "What the..."

"Didn't you know about that?"

Aeri was only getting pissed and pissed at every second that passed by. "Of course, I didn't. I was living abroad. Working hard and raising my kid. I didn't have time to know about my parents' personal friends. But never would I expect that they were close friends with that bastard."

"At least, of my parents," Aeri whispered in a sarcastic manner, but Dr. Minjee heard, and that only made her more curious.

Dr. Park was thinking about Jiah when she appeared in her twin's room, his heart skipped a bit, but he managed to hide his anxiety. "Choi Jiah?"

"Hi, Sunghae," she exclaimed with a charming smile that made his heart flutter. "Thank you, for taking care of my brother. I owe you a lot."

"We're friends, Jiah, don't worry about that. So, let me explain Mori's situation to you."

She nodded and then he started telling her everything, from the moment he started treating him, until now, and Jiah somehow felt relieved. "You're an angel, Sunghae. Thank you. I'll treat you to dinner when this storm calms down a little."

"I hope so. Anyways, did you met the kid?"

Dr. Sunghae nodded smiling. "Tae-tae? I did. Aeri sure did a great job raising that precious boy."

[So Tae-tae indeed told him.] "She did. But well, can I ask you to do something for me?"

"Of course. Whatever you want."

[Tell me this when this storm calms down and you will have a dirty answer.] "I kind of lied to Dr. Jihye about Tae-tae being my son... could you lie for me?"

He laughed and nodded, "Jiah, I don't know why you did that, but yes, I can. I just hope your sister won't kill me for that. I like staying alive!"

[I would kiss you if this wasn't a bad time. For fuck's sake, Sunghae, what are you doing to me?] "Thank you! I'll treat you to three dinners and lunch after this, then."

[That's almost a relationship, Jiah, don't play with me like that.] "Looking forward to that days already."

She laughed. He laughed. And they stared at each other for a while, wanting to say a lot of things, but not having the courage necessary to do it.

"Mommy! You're awake. And eating!" Tae-tae exclaimed and she nodded, eating, while Dr. Minjee laughed.

"Oh? It's you... are you the doctor aunt Jiah said she knew?"

"I am."

Aeri looked at him, then at her, and him again. "You know my sister?" Tae-tae laughed, once he was expecting that answer.

"We studied together in high school, Aeri. Me and you, I mean. You just don't remember me, but your sister, surprisingly, did," Aeri covered her mouth, shocked and embarrassed.

"For heaven's sake- I'm so sorry, my memory is horrible when it comes to real people."

"Only important people and the ones who harmed her, stay in her mind, forever."

"Choi Taeyoung! Don't be so rude with the doctor," she reprimanded him and he nodded, holding his smile.

[Damn, it's like I'm seeing a fusion of Aeri and Seojin... I must be crazy... right? If that was the case, we would know. She loved him, so she wouldn't have left and hidden the kid from him. Yeah, I must be hallucinating, it must be the pot I smoke before.]

"...Dr. Minjee?" Tae-tae called her, realizing that she was staring at him, probably daydreaming about something.

"Yes? I'm sorry, what did you say?"

"I said 'Anyway, Dr. Minjee, can I ask you something?', but you were daydreaming."

"I'm sorry, again. It's a bad habit. Anyway, with what can I help you out, kid?"

Aeri was staring at her son, curiously, and he felt her gaze, which gave him chills. "So... hm... aunt Jiah kind of lied to Dr. Jihye saying that I was her son, so, could you affirm to her that I'm aunt's son?"

"She did what?" Aeri yelled, shocked and pissed with her sister. [I'm going to kill her!]
